heheh I never really was interested in schoolies, gettin wasted, or whatnot...I always thought school was the best 12 years of holidays I've ever had lol....

but its funny how schoolies is for people who get out of school (who are 17 btw)...and alot of the places still serve alcohol....surely they know that the majority of people who sneak in are underage....

yup out of the controlled environment of school into the arms of the police on the gold coast, schoolies was about being different and breaking away from the norm, the whole organised schoolies really defeats the purpose of the enitre thing.

Im a nerd....

Me and a bunch of mates hired a house near a beach somewhere... took an Xbox a PS2 and spent the week gaming, and drinking and playing card games that involved drinking...

Got to the beach once..... - and didnt make it to the pub across the street....

But it was good value...

I took a milkshake maker... - *everything* went in those milkshakes... 7 different types of alcohol + topping + drinking chocolate + ice cream is an entertaining concoction.

Pfft, schoolies. I've already decided with my friends, we're going elsewhere. Probably to the Sunshine Coast if we're lucky, possibly Lorne if we don't have enough money.

Seriously, there's really 2 reasons to schoolies:

1) To lose your virginity to some stranger skank.
2) To get absolutely smashed.

I aint' about to do it with some dirty skank, and I can get smashed elsewhere (yay for that) so schoolies isn't a place we wanted to go. There are much, much nicer places to relax than the gold coast.

(BTW, this is for the end of 2005. We had to decide this since you need to book schoolies like a year in advance)

Schoolies has never been something I cared enough about. My friends did ask me to go with them all to Byron Bay, but I declined. I have better things to do with my time. Like work and end up with $4000-$4500. Very Happy

Though, I do think my friends from my previous school and I are going to NSW for paintballing and stuff at the start of 2005. I'm still procrastinating however, as I want as much money for Anime.AU 2005 as I can get (if it's on again, as I hope it is; it was the best convention I've been to).

Not all schoolies are 17. NSW kids start school a year earlier as QLD, and several people that were in grade were 19.

I turned 17 about 14days before school ended ^_^ HooRar for having a late birthday!

I'm trying to plan a night in surfers and you schoolies are making it hard! If I don't get in before schoolies, I have to wait untill you all go back home crying to your parents than Jonny make you drunk.

hmm, i didn't really do anything the one time i "went to schoolies" (i was actually staying closer to the tweed area, yip). In fact mini-golf was the only thing i enjoyed doing, model windmills *yay* fake crocodiles *double-yay*

Nonetheless I have vowed never again to visit the gold coast...seeing as I live in Brisbane this is probably unrealistic but I've managed to keep my vow so far...

Anyone would think they were more interested in making money than whether or not it was legal to be selling kids alcohol. Razz

I didn't go to schoolies last year, and won't be going this year. It's just bloody stupid, and a wate of money. That and my friends have had a long time to lose my respect, like I needed to give them another week. Razz

And most of you kids don't even have cars yet. What the hell is wrong with you? Even I managed to get a car... Twice... And I'm the worst with saving. Going out and getting drunk (much like I imagine a fair few of you do fairly often) is nothing special. And it's also conforming. You don't want to conform, DO YOU?

Oh, and Tony- You wouldn't lose your virginity, even if you went on leavers. You're what's known as jailbait, and given 10 years of aging, you'll probably still look like it. Razz

aww kei i always knew i liked you. Other then fact that i drink because i like the taste and i enjoy a night with my friends theres not much point to schoolies over crowd drunk teenagers large groups of drunk males and i don't mix well more so i get abuse from them. Crying or Very sad I can't be myself without getting abused, besides that fact i have been up to the schoolies spot nothing to special.

Crap, 'Schoolies' is soon. Looks like I'll be leaving Wasteland Central for a couple of weeks whilst the underage kids' vomit is washed away from the streets. I hate the smell.

'Schoolies' is no more than an organised event to celebrate the death of youth. There is no better way to enter adulthood without throwing your guts up, banging some stranger and getting into a fight - right?

Seriously, people - what is the attraction of making yourself sick just to celebrate the completion of school?

Pathetic.

Damn you kids and your "flavored mixes" just give it to me straight with ice. If you are unable to drink wisky straight you shouldent be drinking at all.

I may or may not go. My friends want me to go with them to Terrigal, but it's really only because I'll be the only 18+ person with them. I really couldn't be bothered. I don't drink too much, anyway. Note also, you cynics, that not everyone goes to get absolutely off their face. If I do go, it's just gonna be a week of having BBQ's, the occasional drink, and whatever we can do. sif conform to what everyone else does. Razz

And there's nothing wrong with mixed drinks. Straight Vodka's good, I don't mind anything else straight, but I find drinks more enjoyable mixed with something.

What are you - 16 or something. That's a stupid way to look at drinking. Maybe with time you might realize that drinking straight spirits in NO WAY reflects on how masculine you are - oh by the way if you are drinking anything less than Dimples, Chivas or Glenfiddich I would STRONGLY advise using a mixer Smile

I stayed one block from Cavill Avenue at Surfers. Very Happy

If you don't spend at least one week of your life consistently drinking, living on instant noodles and those pasta things you cook up in milk, buying countless bottles of Malibu and never actually having a drop of it *wink*, bleaching your hair, then be picked up less than half an hour later by two gorgeous girls as a result (blondes do have more fun!) going to Wet & Wild waterpark all hungover, riding a jetski all hungover, doing laps of the indycar street circuit on a rented scooter all hungover, seeing your mates from the past ten or so years from school at their absolute best and worst, you're missing out on one of life's great experiences. Wink

bah stuff schoolies. ill pass.

i have so much more things i can be doing. im not at schoolies until like next year and by then ill be getting my car done up and working.

with the money you spend at schoolies you can go to fiji for a few weeks and come back and still have money left over.

i think its just a big waste of time.

Oh for pete's sake, ITS THE END OF 13 YEARS OF SCHOOL. Break lose, have fun, and stop caring about money while you can. There's time for worry later. Very Happy But if you need a car, I guess it's justified.

I never went to schoolies and I have to say that I'm glad that I didn't. From what I've heard it isn't all that fun and I wouldn't have enjoyed it in the first place.

Pfft, sif. Lorne is grouse, the best beach along the great ocean coastline. It sure beats Torquay, that's for sure.

Im 18 and i go out drinking moast fridays mixers were made for girls so they can handle things like vodka (They'll drink anything sweet). He he he he that reminds me of a party i went to at some chicks place (her parents were on holidays) and this other girl had been drinking blue vodka, then she started the usual drunk female dancing ruteine, what hapend next??? she thew up all ovre the "White" shag pile carpet "BRIGHT blue vomit....well its was all liquid caues she did'ent eat. buy the end of the night there was a huge blob of blue in the middle of white and blue foot prints everywhere. Dont know what happend when the parents got back, grounded for 4 yrs i think. It was very funney at the time
