I noticed the October 2004 newsletter mentions Madman have licensed the original Kimba series. Does Madman have the American version, the Canadian version or original episodes with subtitles ? I'm guessing the American version since I doubt Warner Vision's rights to the Canadian versions have expired yet.
The original American dub was much more edited, although many people prefer it for other reasons.

Yes! Yes! Yes! Please tell me it's the American version. The Canadian dub was just terrible, I had to get rid of my warner DVD's. I was scared Siren might release this and destroy another series, weren't they close with Rhino? Either way, who cares now? Madman seem to be doing everything right lately in regards to releasing the best versions of the classics. Kimba is essential for me.

The Kimba announcement is in this months newletter again, so any further details ?

Also any chance of deleted scenes, like the Astro Boy (1980) collection ?

Hi Gang,

We have licensed all 52 eps of the original American dub with the theme song we all know and love - not the other version which is wrong!

We are currently investigating how to release, but I like the idea of replicating the Astro Boy deleted scene feature.

Cheers,
Tim.

Oh Yeah, thank you kindly Tim.

This is just what I'd been wanting to hear, Madman just gets better and better! Maybe Kimba will finally get some more respect around these here parts!

*crosses fingers for Astro Boy style tin box*
