um has anyone had any problems with the hay street Eb Games lately??? they seem to have had some system wipe on there computers and you cant order existing anime + new anime coming soon...

AMG i havent seen around for a while sorrys

and I also figure if my b/f likes anime and i like anime why not buy heaps of it very month Smile

JB HiFi Osborne Park regularly has AMG in stock, and I think they had stock yesterday. Also there's a new EB at Innaloo for anyone in the area who prefers their stuff not factory sealed...

It's probably been mentioned numerous times, but JB HiFi can order any Madman title, preorder or backorder (with the odd minor exception or delay now and then), if EB in the city think they can't get it then just go up the road.

Also Ultimate Games in Midland carried anime last I checked (many many months ago).

I know what that feels like and I only have 7 DVDs to watch -not your 150.

Also to back up something earlier said -Ultimate Games in Midland does stock some anime. I was in there a month ago and bought some.

Yes, they can get them fixed, but they send them out, and it takes them 3 quarters of forever! Meanwhile, it just gets chucked back on the shelf with a "Sorry I'm out" shoved in it. Evil or Very Mad But they do fix them... eventually.

I see..... so that explain's why a movie that I want to watch has been "Sorry I am out" for the last 6 month's.

Well I really dont wanna wait that long for them to fix it.
Is there anywere else that I can rent anime??

I just went to the JAFWA website to check out that quiz nitey thing, and i was lyk WOW! amazing! Shocked

i can't believe that i've lyked anime forthis long and never knew about these kinds of.... ummm... associations?!

anyways i was wondering what is this PANIC i read about? (not that it's hugely important, however i'd still lyk to know)

yeah but cheers foxy for the heads up about the quiz nite, it sounds lyk a bit of fun!!!

as for buying anime in perth, i find that many places can be $$$. i use my CC at FBO (family box office on-line), i mean FBO is really reliable and quite cheap compared to other places!!! esp. JB or Ezydvd. (not that i'm dissing these establishments, i still waste plenty of time =P~ oogling the titles in these respective shops in complete want of many a title that is merely a card swipe away)

too bad i have to wait so damn long for delivery, but i'm sure i can be patient, i mean it's only another couple of days! i hope 8-[

all i say if you want a title that's not in store, don't think your order will get filled so quickly i'm getting to the stage having to go back to buying from madman titles i want, since local retail are getting harder and harder to buy from due to the fact thier not getting thier stock on time and not stocking the titles i don't want or need since i have most of what they have with the exceptions of a few anime titles...

as for the the other online retailers, whilst they may be slightly cheaper for the most part you could have a day turn around 2-4 weeks, pending on what orders they have an outstanding orders they have and/or how short thier supply stick, you can have a several weeks before they get restock, i find ezydvd the worst offender of this...

i think someone at madman/avchannel should check the orders before they ship out as 9 times out of 10 of the last year or so they haven't been supplying the orders that retail stores have requested...

i think if madman/avchannel aren't careful they will go bust because they can't get thier stock out on time, i know unforseen delays can happen though not this bad....

i find some retail stores still don't know how to handle thier anime stock when they stock it... how sad, worst offenders: big w, k-mart, target, david jones, (i hate to say this) ezydvd, mixing anime and western animation is a bad idea...

oh well we'll have to put up with it..

I find that JB-HIFI are the best. They alway's have stock of the new titles that I am after as soon as Madman release them.
I have never needed to wait until they have stock ^__^

too be honest i can't see madman going bust cos they're the only ones providing the good people of oz with anime Very Happy

besides i find ordering on-line means i get my stuff a lil cheaper than jus waltzing in to a shop, and as for the wait, fbo sends me e-mail to let me know whats happening and when!!! we live in a society today that constantly blames other for mistakes. no one is willing to take the blame, or accept the consequences of their actions anymore. so in saying this i wouldn't be surprised if madman sometimes cops the blame for lateness or lack of stock when really it wasn't there fault at all.

sometimes items are out of stock, oh well, not every place can have 20 million copies of each dvd! i accept this and therefore don't lose sleep at night Very Happy

jus me thinking that's all.

yur lucky smeg, recently i wanted boogiepop phantom boxset but unfortunately JB didn't have it, and i was told the only way they could get it for me was for them to ordered it from their distributer. telling me a 2-4week wait Sad. but i got it on-line from ezydvd and it came a week later via express delivery (which i had a on-line track to it) and because the boxset was over $74.95 (it was $75) i got the delivery free! yay

but hey black_ops i agree with the whole some places don't know how to market stock [-X if they only knew how well it would do!!!

oh and foxy good score girl, i lyk yur style! keep it up!

Well there is a trick to it. You see I keep upto date, I have all the anime I want and when the new one's come out I go and get them. I bought Boogiepop when it was first released. I suppose I would have the same trouble as you if I wanted older title's, but that's why it is good it keep up with madman Wink

anyways i was wondering what is this PANIC i read about? (not that it's hugely important, however i'd still lyk to know)

PANIC (short for Perth AniConvention) is the name the people running WAI-Con have registred as a business name, since WAI-Con was taken by some construction company. WAI-Con is not run by JAFWA, although both groups tend to offer discounts to members of the other (I was a member of both, till my JAFWA membership expired recently). The official WAI-Con website is here, and most upcoming events are discussed in the forums. I also created a topic on WAI-Con '05 in the Cosplay/Con forum here a while ago.

besides i find ordering on-line means i get my stuff a lil cheaper than jus waltzing in to a shop, and as for the wait, fbo sends me e-mail to let me know whats happening and when!!! we live in a society today that constantly blames other for mistakes. no one is willing to take the blame, or accept the consequences of their actions anymore. so in saying this i wouldn't be surprised if madman sometimes cops the blame for lateness or lack of stock when really it wasn't there fault at all.

I got the Boogiepop phantom box set in Jan from JB HiFi, and it only cost me $35 because it was on sale. Yea for $40 off.

If you want to get to know some WA anime fans, try visiting http://www.panic-wa.org/ where the people organising WAI-Con 2005 (anime convention in Perth) hang out and frequently organise get-togethers such as cosplay parties, karaoke competitions and quiz nights among other things.
