Can I suggest you look up what detective and mystery genres are? I don't think they match up that well with the titles you mention.

If you like the two Bee Train anime (Noir and Madlax) you might also like .hack//SIGN and Avenger which are also by Bee Train.

For detectives I'd recommend R.O.D The TV. Paranoia Agent has some mystery and some detectives but it might be a bit too clever for what you're after. For cool action girls try Gunsmith Cats.

I would suggest Serial Experiments: Lain, if you are looking for something with mystery.

I recommed checking Paranoia Agent out. It's arguably a type of crime fiction, but like mib hints at, there's more going on than that. Even still it's a cool movie

<--Fanboi.

Anyways..my 2c...

Cowboy Bebop is kinda detectivey, the main characters are Bounty Hunters, and most episodes revolve around capturing a criminal, and there's lots of episodes with cool/crazy bad guys. It's been around a while so you might already have seen it.

Ghost in the Shell: StandAlone Complex again isnt outright detectivey like Sherlock Holmes and magnifying glass stuff. But it's got the "fighting crime" aspect. It's set around the futuristic world of cyborgs and future technology previously established in the movie that kicked it all off.
Each episode revolves around a special unit called Section-9 that looks into all sorts of stuff, lots of action, lots of mystery and lots of cool concepts.

Monster?
Great Detectives Piriot and Marple?

Both not licensed though. For licensed and released stuff, try Madlax, Paranoia Agent and GitS: SAC.

Try "Perfect Blue".

Maybe they should put this on right before Australian Idol. That'll fix 'em.
