I always found the sub script way better than the dub. I hate to say it but I found the movie a bit confusing with the dub (which is how I saw it the first two times, like on SBS). But things made more sense on the sub.

Not to mention the "it's that time of the month" on the subtitle vs whatever they translated it on the dub.

What a way to end volume 5. It all points to something big around the corner.

I miss the Tachikomas.

I think it was september 22 or along those lines speedfreak, not to far of.

And i know what you mean Tallis, the lack of Tachikomas is rather disapointing, i would have liked to have seen them in episode 18, i just think they would have worked.

It's really nice to see the laughing man case back in semi-full swing, i'm looking forward to finding out who's behind it all. And man! people can be mean, at the end of episode 20 not a single person helped Togusa. Look at him HE'S DYING!

this could go in the anime games section, but today I saw a "Stand alone complex" ps2 game.

I swear, I've never been more tempted to buy a second hand ps2. Does anyone know if the ps3 is backwards compatible? Razz

anyone played it? graphics looked good, but its hard to tell from the box.

If you're a fan, it'll only take you a (late) night to finish it.

The best thing about it is that the entire game plays like a standalone episode, so you're really playing an episode of the show.

...and Motoko makes that nice "whump" sound when she lands hard.

The PS3 is stated by Sony as backwards compatible.

Though I didn't think this game would be good (having such high regard for the anime) I've actually heard pretty good things about it -except it might be a bit short.

Save yourself the trouble and buy P.N.03 for the Gamecube instead. It's everything the Standalone Complex game should be.

I was so disappointed in the waste of potential for the GitS:SAC game.

After finishing volume 6, I'm wondering if I'm able to hold out until next month. Especially now all the pieces are falling into place.

Well, they're certainly getting a good screwing towards the end of Gig one.

They certainly knew how to bait Aramaki. And that doctor who targeted the Major was a real peice of work, but a hot piece all the same. Razz
I gotta say, I'm really beginning to like the Laughing Man.

So i'm not the only one thinking that the ending of 2nd Gig mirrors the first series in several ways.

Motivated at least in part by being lazy, but more by difficulties with the search function bringing thousands and thousands of seemingly unrelated threads to my attention, what is the disc count for SAC (Region 4 release)?

Thanks

I just read AoD Gits: 2nd GIG review and this series sounds good, though i'm thinking i shouldn't have because now i have an idea of how volume 7 will finish things of.

Anyway it looks to be a really good series, just can't wait to get it.

Okay. I've cheated. I've seen Episode 1 of Gig 2!

WOOHOO!!! THE TACHIKOMAS ARE BACK, BABY!!! Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy
I loved how they acted all robotic at first, which really got Batou down in the mouth. Then, bang! They're back to being the excitable, almost child like, little robot tanks we all know and love. Very Happy

That box is awesome, and the t-shirt is also pretty great.

Dad ordered 2nd GIG volume 1 yesterday. Apparently it comes with a tin box and the first 2nd GIG OST.

A shirt comes with Volume 7? I must've missed that part. I knew about the tin and the Tachikoma card.

Looks up....

Laughing Man T shirt. Sweet! Very Happy

Watched a couple of more episodes of Gig 2.
The Major playing thief was cool. Smile
The fetishes of the future are kinda creepy. Confused

this is soooooo late, but i only just saw that madman were getting an english dub for GITS inocence, and i would just like to say...

MADMAN ROCKS!!! YOU GUYS HAVE MADE MY YEAR!!! i''ll definatley spend $200.00+ at the madman stall at supanova for this.. Very Happy

after the crap dreamworks pulled by releasing it without an english dub i thort my 'perfect' ghost in the shell collection would be imperfect (the lack of inocence would suck). i wasn't going to get innocence becos of the lack of english dub (dub watcher alert!) and the fact that it would encourage dreamworks to do it again.

ok continue with what you were talking about... the late-commer has voiced his opinion.

Finally saw the end of Standalone Complex last night. It's magnificent. The final three episodes build into an awesome ending, and cap off a series that's definitely going to stand as one of the all-time classics.

Bring on 2nd GIG, I say!

The SAC screening on SBS has already converted one person I know. One of Dad's workmates asked a friend of his to tape the first episode. Friend returns the tape to him and says "That show just cost me a lot of money".

Workmate says "Why?"

"Because I had to go and import the entire R1 set."

So yeah.

I remember Madman talking about those Logs in one of the newsletters, so i'd assume a local release isn't to far of.

My ghost hardly whispered. More like yelled, while using frequent course language. Razz
