considering i've only seen a few eps on adult swim, i may be a 'lil bias, but i like the manga more(which is nothing unusual for me...) i just dont like Al's english voice actor, even if it does suit him (no pun intended, i swear Wink)

We'll only being up to V4 of the manga i must say that the anime is proving to be the superior one, though it may very we'll change when the manga veres of in it's own direction but the anime still has i vibe to it i just don't fell in the mnaga.

So for me it's the anime but we'll see what happens.

can i be greedy and say both?
i saw the anime first and fell in love. only started getting the manga in march this year and i do like it too. especially the bonus bits at the end. never fails to make me laugh.
so yeah i'll have to say the anime just a teensy more than the manga Smile

Anime. The only reason being I haven't read a single volume of the manga. I should get around to it one day. Smile

Personally I can't compare the two since they're so different. They're each good n their own way but maybe the manga is a bit better. The anime took (Read: IS taking) such a long time to get anywhere interesting.

I think that anime-wise, it starts to get a full storyline (not just one episode arcs) in "Destruction's Right Hand" and then it picks up.

Am I the only onw where who's seen all of the anime and up to date on the manga? I like the manga better. The manga up until about volume 9 was below the anime but ever since then the manga has been a masterpiece. Ive haven't seen or read anything better the the manga. The manga has so many mysteries and when Ed entered the alternate doors of truth, found Al's real body, met Father and was confronted by Wrath its was spectacular. But i cant wait for chapter 59! Mad I just have to see the truth of the anihilation of Ishbal.

I've read 3 volumes of the manga, and so far the anime and manga version have been pretty much the same. The anime version wins purely for the fact it's animated, in color and has sound Razz

I don't think you were being rude. o_O;

I'm only up to volume 3 of the manga. So far, it's very similar, but does have a few things different.

I'm going to be collecting the whole series Very Happy
Seeing as I have heard, the manga of course, blows the anime away ^^

i've seen/read all that's available. and as i said, i like the manga more. but i've finally thought of a reason. i like the manga plot more than the anime, not to mention i am extremely disappointed that they never animated one of my favourite characters...
you've got to admit that ling turning into greed would have made a great anime scene

What vol did that occur in? Coz I think the production of the anime started after the release of vol 2 or 3... It says so in the book that you get with the 1st dvd (can someone check, I just lent it to a friend Razz ).

As mentioned, it was worded rather strongly. Keep in mind that text is a very 2D way of communicating. Not even 2D now I think of it...Anyway, not only are there those new to the series, but some of us also don't have a little thing called "pay tv" and, therefore couldn't see it on said tv Crying or Very sad I hate waiting so long for each DVD. Now I know another reason why I buy boxses.

Being happily up-to-date on both anime and manga, I have to say.... both! There are aspects of both that I like better. Storylines are both good. Though if I was forced to choose one or the other, I think I'd have to go with the manga. It has better coherence and attention to detail. And more Ed/Winry-ness. =3 (Ed is so in denial...)

Especially when Ed went to Hawkeyes house. And Hawkeye brought Winry up, Ed was blushing like a tomato. Laughing

I don't believe there is a better way to put that. At least one of them admits it though. I forget which chapter of the manga it was, but I think it was a mandatory "awww" moment.
