Next time mum goes to Pirie and I can go, I'm going to do battle at the bookshop. 99% of the time they import manga, but I don't see why I should pay $5 extra for them to import when they could get it locally. Hopefully I won't get the stupid duck I usually get in there. I'll probably end up ordering the first three volumes all at once. _________________ Want a FREE TICKET? Click here!!

It's the same in WA. I could only find the Viz volumes on sale in stores, not the Madman ones (perhaps because the US editions were released earlier).
It's a shame, cos I just got volume 1 of the Madman/Chuang Yi edition (ordered directly) and I liked the quality - the dust jacket, the paper quality etc (I can't comment about the translation since I haven't seen the Japanese edition or the Viz edition). I'll definitely continue with the Madman release, just wish it was easier to find in stores. |

i backordered 1,2,and 3 at eb games in march and only just got 2 last week only cause i bugged them enough to get it from another store. they tell me that they can't get 1 and 3 until thier supplier gets more in. but they won't tell me who thier supplier is and i'm getting sick of waiting.
also if i order it from here do madman do money orders or is by credit card only? _________________ The past tempts us, the present confuses us, and the future frightens us. And our lives slip away, moment by moment - Babylon 5 |

Question: where are you trying to get them from? Apparently EB Games are about as handy as a hole in your skull.

See what I mean about EB? And I've never bought anything from them. I turned around and walked back out again. Presentation of a shop means a lot if you ask me.
KBZ, I think that question was asked once before (by me) and I believe the answer was that they do accept money-orders. _________________ Want a FREE TICKET? Click here!!

Theirs 14 and a half volumes in Japan with the 3rd quarter of volume 14 due out in a week or two. Theirs 50 pages in a chapter and 4 chapters per volume. Theirs 80 chapters/20 volumes planned out already. The manga is just so incredibley fast paced right now alot will happen in the next 22 chapters. _________________ I'm 13 and a music fantatic.

Akira, I think you mean "there's 14 and a half.../There's 50 pages..." etc, etc.
Sorry for being a pedantic aggressive go-getter but that error is one (of several) that makes me climb the bloody walls.

Technically there are only 13 collected volumes out in Japan so far, though the latest few chapters haven't been published in collected volumes yet.
If my counting is correct, going by the 80 chapters estimate, the series won't be completed until February 2008... and we won't get the final volume over here (assuming the two-monthly release schedule continues) until December 2008.
...it's a long wait for such awesomeness, isn't it? ;_; _________________ We are Team Rocket! All your Pokémon are belong to us! |

But some awsome-ness is worth the wait. Though I have enough going on I loose weeks and end up asking people what month it is.
Usually by that stage I'm two or three behind so the wait doesn't necessarily bother me that much. _________________ Want a FREE TICKET? Click here!!

well eb has done it again - or in this case hasn't. now they're saying that volume 1 and 3 have benn discontinued and, get this, number 5 isn't even on thier computer even though it is due out in 11 days. but, i did manage to pre order the 8th dvd. can anyone explain? but they are going to try to get 1 and 3 from another state, if they can find it. _________________ The past tempts us, the present confuses us, and the future frightens us. Yeah, I think it's something to do with the fact they're an American based company... really that should have nothing to do with it, but I've noticed that their organisation skills with anime and manga aren't brilliant. I rely on EB as my main supplier of manga (unless i can be bothered to travel the 100km into Brisbane). They have real difficulty in backdating, suck with orders (even after me paying) and have problems with their records (yes, I'm taking the oportunity to whinge). My advice is to go in and browse, but don't expect too much. _________________ "There is no coincidence, only Hitsuzen" Yuko, xxxHOLiC

It's just Eb rarely keep backstocks of anything especially anime and since there anime and manga are very much intertwined i'm sure that they don't wish to keep excessive backlogs. You'd be hard pressed to find any anime in theremore than 3 months old.

Some EB's really are quite poor but without tooting my own horn i'm rather fond of my local Eb, not once have they stuffed up an order or anything of the like.
But Borders is the place to go for Chuang Yi Manga, they keep so much backstock it'd make Eb pee there pants _________________ You scratch my back and i'll scratch yours....seriously i will.

Definately!
But for other manga...it's a little pricier...but we aint talking about other manga, so yeah! they're good.
problem is they dont sell the Viz version, i started buying them, and even if they did sell it, they probably have it for 22 bucks or something... _________________ The Doctor: A straight line may be the shortest distance between two points, but it is by no means the most interesting.

Borders sell Chuang Yi manga @ $14.95 and Viz @ $21.95.
And yes, Borders beats EB into the ground. Not to mention every other DVD/music or bookshop I've ever been into. But they don't even let you browse their stock online and the nearest one is nearly 300k's away I make do as best I can. Been meaning to ring them and see if I can get them to mail manga up to me. Probably won't though. _________________ Want a FREE TICKET? Click here!!

i have made so many deposits there it is amazing. but the one and only guy i deal with (the only one who knows what i'm on about) said if they can't get it from another state he'll put that money on the dvd i preordered the other day.

Hey, Kbz, let's find a mailing address for Borders and start pestering them to build a few more Borders stores. Preferably NOT in the CBD of any given capital city! _________________ Want a FREE TICKET? Click here!!

finished number 5 in a total of 45 mins. they just don't come out quick enough for me to read and i bet the odds on eb not having number 6 on their pc is pretty good. _________________ The past tempts us, the present confuses us, and the future frightens us. Well you're not missing out on too much anyways....
It just shows the end of that island part (with alot of jumping around of the timeline ), Izumi revealing a secret, their attempted resurrection of their mother and Colonel Mustang's promotion to Central... _________________ digtrioPortable - Twitter |

You know how on the inside of each jacket sleeve covering the manga, on the original part of the book there are little funny pictures (e.g, Ed inside Al's left eye, controlling him)? Can you tell me what they are in this volume? _________________ The Doctor: A straight line may be the shortest distance between two points, but it is by no means the most interesting.

But I'll tells ya anyways
Front Cover:
Izumi standing there holding a bloodied butcher's knife in one hand and vol6 in her hand (yes the actual book) and has that masked dude from the last one standing there scared
Izumi: You let the kids steal the cover?!
Masked dude: Eep! I'm sorry!
Back Cover:
Don't even ask me what the hell this is supposed to be!! It has them dressed up as "deliquents" from a high school and Pinako dressed up in a *shudders* high school outfit.... _________________ digtrioPortable - Twitter |
