Well...since the series seemed to wrap itself up nicely (with help from the movie of course) I'm assuming that this is either some idiotic joke or has a 1in8000000000 chance of being true _________________ The Doctor: A straight line may be the shortest distance between two points, but it is by no means the most interesting.

Darth Tallis magically... Well, more accurately, cannibalises the Full Metal Alchemist mythos by making it so that Edward loses a limb or two in a drunken brawl with Lust after she lifts the lid on their secret relationship in front of Winry. This of course gives Winry, who is now high on crack and smoking rollies that aren't exactly consisting of tobacco, to take greater pleasure in torturing Edward with new automail while wearing a sexy number that makes her look like an S and M Queen.
Alphonse, having skipped several years of pubity as a result of being a walking, talking suit of armour, is left psychologically scarred upon learning that Envy is a man in an embarrasing moment which is written up by Greed and published in Hustler magazine. The humiliation causes Al to fall victim to drugs, alcahol, and hookers whom he takes great efforts to insure that are actually female. His self destructive life style results in an altercation with the Mafia, who are now headed by Roy Mustang, and consist of many hotties wearing mini skirts and armed with sub machine guns. Al, however, is so stoned at that juncture in time, that he believes he's diedand gone to heaven. Instead, he almost dies and gets his soul melded to a shop mannequin wearing a G-string by Ed, whose now working as a drug dealer to pay off Winry for the new automail. It was either that, or submit to rigorous torture by Winry on a regular basis.
Winry, after having so much fun torturing Edward with his new automail, decides to take up S and M as a part time job. Hawkeye is a regular customer, who, in a rather nasty session with Winry involving a spot welder, solder, and a tub of super glue, informs Edward and Alphonse of a way to restore their bodies in a rehash of the previous series, only far more ****** up.
So begins the journey again. A shop mannequin in a G-string, an alchemist drug dealer, a new goal, rehashed script, and no money for cocaine and booze when things go belly up. F***** UP ALCHEMIST! _________________ PSN: Dartal1138

I would. Anime sequels aren't actually all that common at the best of times, and this goes double if there's any sort of gap and triple if it's a long-running fighting/adventure anime based off a manga running in one of the shounen mags.
For FMA to be revived would be close to unprecedented. _________________ Zettai Unmei Mokushiroku |

I doubt there would be another series because they basically have all of the manga's storyline plus what could they do for a second series? _________________ digtrioPortable - Twitter |

The second half of the anime doesn't use the manga's plot at all (at the request of the manga author - she didn't want her ending spoiled!). So they could make further animation using the manga storyline, but it couldn't easily follow on from the first series, it would be a seperate story.
The series as it is really can't go anywhere further. A continuation would ruin it, I think.
Side-stories, like the games or maybe a second movie, are fine though. Personally I'd love to see a movie involving the Xing characters. They're just too awesome to never make it onto the screen. _________________ We are Team Rocket! All your Pokémon are belong to us! |

The director said in an interview with Adult Swim not too long ago that he isn't working on anymore Fullmetal Alchemist. |

An anime director is nothing like a live-action director; they've got a lot more control over the whole creative process than you'd think, and broadly set the style and appeal of the show, with a lot of low-level control over the storyboards, the script, the production design, and all that.
Broadly, it's their show. It's not really something you can replace easilly.
Additionally, "the director" will often carry with them a coiterie of the rest of the production staff; if you can't get the director 'cause he's doing something else, most of the rest of the production crew would be working on the same project and thus busy. _________________ Zettai Unmei Mokushiroku |

If there was to be a plot transition then you'd need a second side story, have the first five or six episodes filling up the setting for it and how it all fits in. Then you'd run a situation where the main charaters (in this case Ed and Al) run into this second storyline.
That'd be a really good way of making that transition. You'd have to be careful though not to contredit anything from the main story though. _________________ PointBlancInsanity:My new studio based website, coming November 2006

hmmm, I guess I didn't word my post right - what I meant was the manga gave the anime a basis for which they could make their own story from but if they were to do another series they would have to come up with their own idea... _________________ digtrioPortable - Twitter |

while it would be great to see a second series, it is probably better to leave it as is. it ended well, and you wouldn't want that to be ruined by making another one and that one not being so good. _________________ The past tempts us, the present confuses us, and the future frightens us. Yeah, I agree! It would make more sense for there to be ova's (which there is) than to write another series... personally I think that with the series and the movie, it rounds off nicely! There is definiately no need for another series. And while I hear those all too audible BUT's, there's just no other way to look at it! I'm sure you'll come around to my way of thinking by this time next year, when all of the series and the movie are out on DVD. _________________ "There is no coincidence, only Hitsuzen" Yuko, xxxHOLiC

F.M.A. shouldn't be be revived in a second season. The OVA's wrapped the franchise up very nicely. But the manga still ongoing and its even better then the anime. _________________ I'm 13 and a music fantatic.

I'd have to disagree with that. The move had a very open ending, as well as creating a whole new setting for the protagonists. A second series is entirely possible, and considering how popular the original series was in both Japan and the US, I don't see why it won't happen. _________________ I have a blog! Well, with the movie
There's still an opening for another series in the other side of the gate, but when you think that the series is called "Fullmetal ALCHEMIST" how are they going to perform alchemy? And if they sealed the gate, there's no way they can get back to the other side to see everyone else. Unless the story changed protagonists and became based on Roy, or the gateway had not been sealed, then I see no future series showing up) _________________ The Doctor: A straight line may be the shortest distance between two points, but it is by no means the most interesting.

There won't be another series. Fullmetal Alchemist is the biggest thing since Cowboy Bebop and that series was huge, on both sides of the Pacific. If they had wanted there could have been a second series of Bebop.
With what Spike survived in the TV series I could see him getting up after that final fight.
However it won't happen because it was a good ending. I haven't seen all of FMA, I'm collecting it from Madman and I have stringently avoided spoilers for the series. (Be warned that I will track down anyone who spoils it for me and you will not like that, believe me.) Anime have open endings, just think about the end of the Evangelion movie if you need proof, its not always clear cut as to what happens to the characters and I expect that you'll need to read the manga to get more of a "complete" ending if thats what your after.
The only way that I see that more FMA animation will be made is it a movie or OAV series about the Ishball war is created.
As a side question, what are the four OAV's about? _________________ "I can't take his money, I can't print my own money, I have to work for my money. Why don't I just lay down and die." -Homer Simpson |

They used alchemy to open the gate to Amestris remember? It would seems that alchemy does exist in our world, but it just never reached the same level it did back in Amestris. _________________ I have a blog! (it helps if you imagine it in Martin Luther King's voice) |

Okay.
the first one is a suit of armour, well Al, walking around in japan, its live action, as in not animated.
the second, is about three children who look like ed,al and winry and they are off to see their grandfather on his birthday. the grandfather is Ed who lives in japan
the third is a state alchemist verses the homunculus, its just basically a battle between them.
and the fourth, its all the characters as chibis having a party.
My fav is definately the one with the three children. |

Another moive whould be good,as for the thing about calling it FMA
If he is in our world he still has automail and in the moive he was able to cross to the otherside, aka when he finished the trans circle with chalk
I do like think that ed could get back to asmertis one more time, and bring winry to the other side of the gate(for automail repairs >.>)
but yes the manga is awsome
Where hawkeye has the tattoo on her back, and only roy can read it (Very Suss lol |
