yes it is on TV, Funimation show almost 90% of their shows on TV in the US. So I guess that would pretty much explain it Very Happy

Please setup your options in the setup menu BEFORE playing the disc instead of playing the disc and swtiching on the fly. It's not a Funimation fault nor a madman one, the DVD is made to acustom to the right user options set in the menu.

I think that Flash is refering to the fact that Funimation dubbed the OP and ED and that there is no option for watching it dubbed with the Japanese song lyrics.
I regard this as an issue as well, even though I realise that there is virtually nothing that Madman can do with regard to this.

Sly, could you just confirm that our release of Kiddy Grade vols 5-8 is the uncut version?

I just got vol 5 the otherday. This series just keeps getting better.

Now Eclair and Lumiere have destroyed the GOTT. They must be REALLY angry. Alv and Dverger have also made their move now, so no Eclair or Lumier in the next volume.

I must say that I have been pleasantly suprised by Kiddy Grades story. After 8 vols, I can say that Kiddy Grade is very good. It was easy enough to overlook the fanservice and concentrate on the show itself and in the process enjoy it.

It has a similar level in fanservice to that of Gonzo's other production Full Metal Panic except for maybe the nipples.Very Happy

8 dvd's is off course too long for a 24 ep series, but then it reminds me of EVA in the disc count. I can't complain that much though I wished it was shorter by at least a dvd or 2.

In either case, despite my reservations, Kiddy Grade is fun to watch. The fanservice is a bonus.Very Happy

While it was reasonably enjoyable, the way a lot of things are unexplained ala Rahxephon kinda brings the series down for me a few notches.

What exactly are Eclair and Lumiere? How did all the GOTT members get their powers? In more than a few episodes, we see snippets of scenes that suggesting that Eclipse's secretary (forgot her name) has a hidden agenda, looking suspicious like eavesdropping for example (if I remember correctly), that was never explored.

But on the upside, the opening song is one of the catchiest I've heard.

From what I gathered from watching the show is that she is Armblasts ES partner. No idea what her capabilities are, but that has been the impression. Armblast is from what I can tell, the doctor that treated Eclair 50 odd years ago when Eclair and Alo were fighting in the colony that was eventually abandoned from all the fighting on it. Obviously, he's had a new body, like Mecrede, but that's the impression I've had on Armblast eversince that ep.

Maybe another series or prelude movie will clear things up with Eclairs and Lumeires background and the formation of GOTT. I gather from watching the show that people during that time gained capabilities thru mutation caused by the environment each member grew up in. Eclypse has the ability to enhance that ability and created the technology where it's possible to duplicate it via a DNA program.

Again it's all speculation and thus doesn't deserve a spoiler tag.

Watched Volume 6.

These girls are like Doctor Who, the way their appearence changes with each regeneration. It's so cool!
Who ever are impersonating Eclair and Lumiere(I think I can guess this one), really screwed up with their little clones of the two girls. One pair went rogue and made it easier for the real Eclair and Lumiere to escape after spoiling the party.

I'm lovin' this show! Very Happy

It's way too good to deserve all the crap that some people are giving it. I can't wait to watch the rest of it (but I'll have to wait at least another month).

No need at all. Just watched volume 7 and my guess was right on the moeny. Smile

Though Eclipse's re-appearence was something I didn't see coming, though it helps to clarify how it is the ES members regenerate.
The flashbacks of Lumiere's past were very enlightening.

I swear, I've really fallen for this series because of how it's progressed the last few volumes, with more twistes and turns than I could've imagined. Definately something to watch over in a marathon run after I get the last volume. Smile

Agent Aika. Not quite hentai, but the level of Ecchiness is quite high. The same production company made Najica, so if you've seen that, you've got a pretty idea as to what Aika is like.

In relation to character development and so forth, there is actually quite a lot of background for eclair and lumiere present in the novels and sound layers which feature not only new and older stories, but new ES members. Unfortunatly most of this stuff is only available in Japanese.

You can find more info on my site: http://www.kiddygrade.info/lumieclaire

I will be adding more information over the next few weeks as I have had to redo the whole site over the last couple of days to accomadate Uta~Kata information. Very Happy

also any ideas for content are most welcome.

Holly plot twists Batman!!

I just got vol 8 today & soooooo didn’t see that coming,
2 mothers, a psycho daughter, a hero son, eclair and lumiere getting killed AGAIN & coming back (gotta love that "Tada!"), only to have eclair die & come back AGAIN, the earth on the verge of destruction, an SDF wannabe ship & an army of GOTT agents kicking butt! Woof!!

Hummmm……….I feel a Kiddy Grade marathon coming on!! Wink

I almost couldn't believe how good the ending to this series was, and I really didn't see all the plot twists coming. Keep up the good work Gonzo!

The adult version of Lumiere was very nice, too. Very Happy
