This would be cool, but at the same time, it would be too weird hearing Optimus called Convoy, even though it's his japanese name.

Still, I have always wanted to see some of the older Transfomers anime (The recent series(excluding Beat Wars) had too many kid helpers hanging around for me to get egt really interested. Well...that and that Cartoon Network only ever seem to screen it early in the morning, when I'm either asleep or at work)

This... actually really irritates me, because Transformers has always had irritating kids. Far too many irritating kids. And it doesn't get any better i in Masterforce or Headmasters.

It might in Victory.

I am definitely 100% behind Madman releasing these. I... must remember to go to the Madman panel at Manifest and ask about them.

I'm all for this.

And what?! A Generation One collection? Like, all of G1 in one collection! Madman better be doing that! I urge them to do that!

I'll get that The Best of Transformers collection, but it better have one damn fancy package!

Woo hoo! They listened. Now watch the Yuri/Shojou ai series lovers complain that MM aint bringing out what they want. Face it you whingers giant robots rule and have more chance of selling more units than your lesbo serieses.

Import from the US if you want them. There some cartoons I know won't see the light of day here and I imported. Hear me whinging? Nope. Ever heard of Bopo? See how high the dollar is? You get your fix cheaper atm.

My understanding is that we are getting the Metrodome release of the Headmasters, Masterforce, Victory sets. Does this mean that like the UK release of Victory, this one will not have an English track?
Also I've read on Amazon.co.uk that the new complete box set of all three series contains an extra episode not available of any of the individual sets. Are we going to miss out of this?

It might not be appropiate to ask but has anyone got the R0 releases of these titles that are all listed as having the English audio?

That's a shame that it's the same as the Metrodome release. It had a lot of problems with it.

The subtitle scripts had numerous errors in them. One episode had subtitles from a later epsiode flshing onscreen and providing a big spoiler. Names of places and characters were messed up.

They used the american names for most of Headmasters cast (although they would often switch between the US and Japanese names by mistake) and then in the following sets after realizing the mistake of using the US names in Headmasters decided to switch to using Japanese names for Masterforce and Victory.

Also their masters were incomplete so no next episode previews and any episodes with any sequences before the title card were missing too. A shame as the first episode features a recap of the events in the original series with new animation.

And nine episodes spread across a single DVD-9? It needs to be spread out more. Too much compression is a bad thing especially for where video quality is concerned.

If Madman do release this in November here's hoping they can fix at least some of these problems. Maybe have someone versed well in Japanese-TF to proof-read the subs in Headmasters. And hopefully get some complete masters like the Japanese DVD sets.

Actually it's one thing I hope NEVER sees the light of day over here. As we all know, there are good dubs and bad dubs- these series have the WORST DUBS. From Billy to New Soundwave, there are cheesy lame bits throughout each episode of every one of the series that just make you want to cringe. I mean this seriously makes what they did with the likes of Cardcaptors seem like a completely faithful adaptation.

So is the Madman release of Headmasters identical to the Metrodome release?

Sadly QFT, plus they have less of a chance of coming here due to latest series being sub only and Geneon has the other yuri series which is actually a mecha series as well

All i can say is though, apart from Bopo, Paypal is another (cheaper) option to go for Very Happy heck i'm using that avenue now

You've said it's a bad/annoying dub, but nobody's mentioned if the subtitles are any good. Are they?

Kat: Ive never really watched the dubs of Headmasters but I'll give one good reason to watch the ep where Sixshot and Daniel are trapped on a planet: "Uncle Sixshot" Laughing

Speedfreak: I use Paypal now as well. Worked out well with E-bay and other purchases. If these Yuri fans want their shows the dollar still pretty good atm.

Actually Gouki after finishing Masterforce I say it's the exception.
The fact that the annoying kids becomes transformers and can fight themselves means they don't have to depend on the help of the stronger Autobots/Cybertrons all the time.
I hated Danniel in Headmasters though.

Transformers Animated.

Easily the best since Beast Wars. And if there's an episode that makes me cry? It will be better than Beast Wars.

You'll find it's like that but Ginrai DOES become the Cybertron/Autobot commander during the course of the series and rightfully so becomes one of the strongest Transformers if not the strongest after obtaining his Godbomber extra trailer component.

Agreed. I've managed to catch a few episodes here and there and I love it. It's a genuinely good cartoon. It also looks great.

...I got Headmasters a week ago. It's good. (Oh and I'm halfway through the series now.)

PS. I'd like to see a Transformers prequel series made. I'm a little curious to see more of the past of Cybertron depicted. Yes, we do see bits and pieces of it in G1, but we want to see more of Cybertron's past. Oh and what would the show be called? Transformers:The Beginning? I want to see the bit where the Quintessons come to Cybertron and create the miltary goods and consumer model robots that will become Decepticons and Autobots.
