I was wondering if anyone could help with directions from Sydney central station. I've only been to Syd a few times and even then I only really stayed near George Street, I'm just a little worried I might get lost. So if anyone could maybe point me in the right direction it would be most appreciated. _________________ "This muffin could conquer the world! Do not underestimate the power of the muffin. How to get there by Public Transport: Sydney Olympic Park is fantastic to get to with heaps of parking, the railway station is literally next door to the venue and a heap of other modes of transport going there. The easiest way to double-check your options is to visit the Sydney Olympic Park website by clicking here - http://www.sydneyolympicpark.com.au/Visiting/transport - for the “Transport and Parking” page which has everything you need including information regarding Train, Bus, Ferry, Bicycle, Driving Instructions and Parking. For more info on the train services you can also call 131 500.
Parking: There are 10,000 spaces available at a cost of $3.00 per hour up to a maximum of $15.00 per day in the parking stations and the link above contains all the information you need. _________________ Screening Room+

Got my ticket for Saturday and Sunday. Arriving too late to go tomorrow night.
You'll probably see me walking around making a scene about the trivia being held on the Friday night and not the Sunday as usual. Poor Typhoon Long Wang. _________________ ..Yeah...I'm a guy

I'm gonna turn up tomorrow(Saturday) and dragging my friend along as well. I would like to say hello to fellow madboarders so to help if you like to say hello I'll put a small description of what I'll be wearing. a plain red, white and black shirt, Manly(or Maroon and white stripes if you don't follow league) baseball cap and glasses. _________________ Manly-Warringah Sea Eagles Premiers 2008, World Club Champions 2009 |

I'm sorry to say this, but I can't come to the Sydney Supanova.
Why?
1. I don't have an anime character costume so I can enter the cosplay compos.
2. Even if I did get a costume, I will be recognized.
3. If you do find out I'm not really Jeannette and you are one of the Madman people who see me, I WILL GET BANNED FROM THE MADBOARDS!!! Trust me, it's better this way. At least let me have my dignity.
Again for my sake, I'm not coming. |

I had a great time today better than last year.
The stores were nicely spaced out, only crushing at stores not walking past them. I only wish I had more money.
No fire alarm ringing was good but that thunder noise which I'm guessing was caused by the wrestlers was slightly annoying.
The dance off was fun to watch especially Optimus and the guy in the black shirt, you too inspired me to have a go in the group dance which I think I did very poorly but still had heaps of fun trying.
I have to say a big thanks to the cosplayers that let me take a photo while walking around.
Another highlight was talking to Fat Momma, she's great but talking to her was cut short thanks to some magazine guy bumping me out of the way asking her about the show but it didn't annoy me that much. Good luck to her.
The cosplay comp was very good(don't know who won) but I was disappointed that the cheering was rather low when each person jumped on stage but my ears were quite happy for that fact. _________________ Manly-Warringah Sea Eagles Premiers 2008, World Club Champions 2009 |

Well yesterday was my first ever Supanova, the day didn't start to well on account of the trains were down, so we ended up having to catch a bus to Sydney. We got there around 12:00pm, And it was pretty much what I'd expected though not as many anime stores as I was hoping for, pretty much all the merchandise I bought there I could of simply bought online (without the annoying crowds that did nothing but push and shove). After about 30mins of walking around we had already seen everything there was to see and bought everything we liked or wanted, so we spent the next few hours just walking around looking at the same stuff over and over, checking out the cosplayers (some of them were very scary). We left around 3:00, which is 3hours earlier then we expected. Overall It's still pending wether I had a good time or not but I seen a few madders, bought anime related stuff and it got me out of the house for the day, so in the end It was well worth it.
Thanks Madman _________________ "This muffin could conquer the world! Do not underestimate the power of the muffin. The muffin will smite all those who question it. The muffin will crush all nay sayers! He who controls the muffin controls the entire world!" ~ Taichi Comic Party |

Animania is a better con for animé stuff - but Supanova is good as an all-round convention which also covers a lot of non-animé fandom like scifi, computer games, fantasy et al.
I had heaps of fun at Supanova - the best I'd been to since 2004. I'd better start a new thread to share photos and videos. _________________ In Soviet Russia Eye More Than Meets You! |

My sister, one of my co-workers and I went there yesterday and did find some things to amuse ourselves. But the most laughs I had was in the cafeteria having lunch. We were talking about beer and farting. Some bloody classic stories on that ensued.
However, we all felt let down and was happy that we only bought a 1 day pass. Supanova is definitely no longer worth showing up for the entire weekend now.
It's gotten bigger, but there was less on offer in the anime related side of things. I feel that the anime related side is shrinking by the year which isn't good. Trying to find artbooks was an exercise in futility. _________________ I saw the chainsaw surgeon,

*ahem*
Just got home. Good con. My somewhat reduced interest in anime was countered by the amount of sci-fi things going on, and the wrestling (which was made hilarious purely because of the crowd. Much love to Typhoon Longwang).
I met a bunch of people from here who I didn't remember/still don't remember, but hello regardless.
Now, I hope you'll excuse me, I'm going to go hug my autographs (Lani Tupu <3333) |

Cool. I've read some stuff on it in recent NTUSA's with scene shots shown, so i was interested in it straight off. I also know that it was licensed by Funimation a few months back. _________________ I saw the chainsaw surgeon,

Going out on Sunday night definitely improved my convention experience after being robbed of my hard earned money Saturday night.
Best part of SN itself was the wrestling with Mario getting into the fray.
Was great to see everyone again and thanks for making it a fun con! Will see you all again next year for sure. _________________ ..Yeah...I'm a guy

I find it interesting that besides Dr.Jackal, no one has been bothered to post anything about what licences were announced. Does anyone show really show up for that or has everyone simply decided to go home. This apathy is the same as last year and I'm not certain if the year before was the same or not.
Just curious to note that. _________________ I saw the chainsaw surgeon,

I was charging on ~5 hours total sleep and red eye energy drinks. AND I FEEL GREAT!
Otherwise had some fun. I didn't get to see much due to spending practically all the weekend at the Information Booth taking care of the fanart comp. Although I must say I got at least two things I wanted (one of which was a trading figure, the other was a packet of Panadol Rapid signed by LANI TUPU!)
When it comes to quality of the con, I must say it ran a lot smoother than what I anticipated, and the choice of venue was spectacular. Props to all the organisers, vendors, and volunteers that made it such a fantastic weekend.

Yep. Yep you did, Bearded. Shame you didn't crossplay this year though. I think you would have drawn a bigger crowd to the infobooth like that.
I was surprised (and thrilled) I got to give showbag packing a miss this year. Infobooth was a nice change, though getting to block photographers from gettin on the cosplay stage last year and being able to take photos instead was pretty awesome.
I bought a whole bunch of stuff. Also thanks to YRD9000 asking, I also got the chance to buy this print http://elf-fin.deviantart.com/art/LookingBckMovingFrwrd-Szekeres-41178071 off the talented guy who submitted that Beauty and the Beast fan art entry. It's a shame the judge knew him ><
