Hi All

Long time no speak

How are you all?

I am posting today because I want to get "rid" of my anime dvd's. I just don't want them anymore. I was thinking EBAY but I do not have an account. Anyone know how I can get "rid" of them?

Cheers.

There really isnt anything stopping you from signing up to eBay anyway

At anyrate, if you want i can list and sell them for you and you can just post them out to whoever buys them, instead of shipping them to me (as i dont live anywhere near your locality)

hey smeg you might want to check the condition of your disc's before trying to sell the remaining titles...

a little advice if loaning disc's to friends give them copies to watch don't hand them the originals, trust me i learned the hard way earlier in the piece, people you lend to have a habit to lending to others that may not take care of your disc's...

it becomes an expensive hobby if you're replacing damaged disc's every so often, when you're paying between $29-$36 for a disc replacement it becomes a costly affair when replacing damaged discs....

Empire is still there for sure.....sometimes still pricey though but its fine to window shop Razz

I'm still at ECU...........I took a semester off last year so i'm a semester behind now Confused

So has perth changed since you left?

I'm trying to stay away from R1 dvds for now. They cost around $30+ Madman dvds are somewhat cheaper, although they come out alot later than the R1 releases.

But really, i dont have a single R1 dvd yet, is it worth the price?

It really depends if you want the series soon on r1 or later thought madman, + r1 sometimes give you alot more extra stuff with the dvd (like the Haruhi special edition boxes) and there is also the series that madman isnt going to release.

You can get them much cheaper if you import r1 dvd as store usally like to add a little extra onto the price.

actually if you factor in the cost of transport per disc, you'll likely be paying more per title, though this also depends on the cost of the title when you purchased it...

while most anime is generally cheaper when brought from the US sometimes the cost of transport can kill the overall price...

some markups can be justified where other's aren't in a retail outlet...

the only thing that annoys me when MM state they're never going to release a certain title, within 6-12 month's of buying the r1 they suddenly come out left field and say they are going to release a series..

Same here.
Then there is also when you get a series released over here and then half way though the series they stop releasing it, then you got to go with r1 release if you want to watch the rest.

i know what which 1 you mean chibi
though i think our episode per disc count might be different..

the only thing i'd buy from empire in r1 would be boxsets...

single volume pickup i wouldn't recommend as in some cases empire can be charging way over the mark per title per volume...

Alot of the time our ep per disc count are usally the same as the r1 release, as i think some series (r1 release) just get milked for every thing they've got.

true about empire and their single releases but some movies arent to bad as there just above $30 and at least there starting to make the figures more afordable.

I still feel pretty **** when i see that anime dvds are always much more expensive than their live-action counterparts.

They dont sell older anime for $9.99 per dvd like they do for the older movies at Kmart.

the law of cost they purchase at keeps their price up...

any given title could of been there over 12 month's they would sell it for what ever they brought the title at originally at to break even i know it sucks regardless of the current US price for title is, though that's how it works at empire...

And dont forget that the anime market isnt as big as the live-action market, so it would be less cost effective to sell anime cheaper. (but thats just how i see it)

And this is why boxsets/fatpacks are always a good option for cheaper anime, but that again means waiting for the series.
Unless they do like what sony is doing with Blood+ where you can wait for the singles vols or buy the 1st half of the series in a smaller boxset the same time the first vol comes out.

Empire used to drop the price of some of their older anime titles but that was a while ago and since then havent really released that many singles.
