We have one for anime, music and manga, but none for the normal live action movies, tv series and shows like Good News Week or the Footy Show. We have faves, but it's not the same thing.
On thursday, I ended up rewatching Star Gate and then followed it up The Gridiron Gang. The later has 'The Rock' in it and is based on a true story.
Let's get to it. _________________ Motorcycling - You don't need an excuse to ride, but you need an excuse not to ride.

I watch The Gruen Report and Spicks & Specks, as well as Boston Legal atm. I think that about wraps it up for my current LA watching habits... there isn't really much on atm, plus I'm playing WoW most of the time. _________________ 2146316 - The true nature of humanity.

To be quite honest, I've kinda given up on watching tv. Too many schedules that you've gotta bend your own to. I stopped 'watching tv' after The Glass House got axed, watched The Sideshow occasionally, and now there's nothing that I really watch religiously.
Aside from the news, which is fantastic because you can't really spoil it when you're browsing Wikipedia. I've been known to occasionally watch Spooks (ie: when I remember that it's on) although the new series' are nowhere near as good as they were.
On the other hand, I've been watching more live-action movies lately, mainly because I can't find much anime that really interests me anymore. I watched 'Supersize Me' last week, I'm partway through Season Seven of Stargate SG-1 (which I started watching at the start of March, so I don't think that's too bad an achievement), and I've just finished watching 'Electra', which wasn't too bad, but was nothing to write home about either. And I'm itching to watch Zoolander again. _________________ Fight for love like a soldier. |

must get back to watching seasons 8-10 of sg1 and pre-order of SG: atlantis season 4...
I couldn't get into spooks, because it made me feel like I was watching a rerun of CI5...
With most tv series showing up on dvd in the last 5-10 years i found it more enjoyable to watch a 45min episode on dvd than watching it for 1hr-1hr 15min on the idiot box on FTA or pay tv...
maybe a collection thread should be started... |

Even the end credits were good in that movie as the actual people that The Rock and the others portrayed said the words that was used in the movie.
Looking at replaying The Running Man with good ole Arnie in it and maybe Police Academy after I get off the net tonight. _________________ Motorcycling - You don't need an excuse to ride, but you need an excuse not to ride.

On TV...
Rove
Good News Week
The Gruen Transfer
And on DVD at the moment I'm watching the last season of Seinfeld. Yes, I know I should have started at season 1, but the last season has a few of my favorites, plus I never got around to seeing the last episode.

Hmmm ... as for currently screening TV have to admit is fairly limited. Just Simpsons (and technically by the defn of this thread that probably doesn't count), Supernatural and Top Gear.
Half the time happier to either throw on a DVD or go on the internet (considering such stellar shows being put out at the mo like 'Mark Loves Sharon' ...) _________________ Can't sleep ... clowns will eat me ... |

Dexter
Tim and Eric Awesome Show Great Job
Top Gear
Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmares (saw them all years ago before it was en vogue but it's still great)
I also watch Death Note on ABC2. Not live action but it's the other part of my weekly TV rotation. _________________ XBL Gamertag: SikthMalignus

Haven't watched a great deal of TV, except the Gruen Transfer, Andrew Denton's Elders, Insight, Good News Week, Doctor Who and caught some great old films on ABC2, King Kong (1933) and Dr Strangelove and Silent Running a few weeks back. I wish I had a digital recorder so I could have recorded the Mad Bomber. They've got a few Audrey Hepburn films coming up in the next few weeks. Not sure if I'll watch them. Was watching the Cutting Edge, but have stopped watching it recently as they only ever screen Iraq related documentaries. Surely they have other documentaries they could show. There was one really good one I missed last night due to Doctor Who. It was about the SETI program. I thought was bizarre that the program tried to dismiss UFO sightings, then interviewed scientists that didn't want to send signals out into space just in case there were hostile cultures out there. Odd and rather contradictory.
At the local cinema all I've watched recently was Mongol. The National Film and Sound Archive screens films every Thursday and Saturday nights. I recently saw the 2007 Joy Division documentary (called "Joy Division" funnily enough). In last few months I've seen Invasion of the Body Snatchers (1978) and Vertigo. _________________ The Memory Matrix (Finally Updated After Three Years...) |

Here ya' go, if you're willing to import. Price is cheap.
Although, I saw a copy of it in my local music store with an Australian Rating on it. So I assume it's available locally. Might be just an import with the rating slapped on, though. Didn't really take that much notice as I had already imported it. _________________ PSN: Dartal1138

Yeah it is available locally. A proper 2 disc collector's edition too.
I've noticed a lot of people are watching the Gruen Transfer. I saw the first ep and while I like the concept and some of it is funny, Wil Anderson is abhorrent. At least, he was in the first ep. Has he gotten any better? _________________ XBL Gamertag: SikthMalignus

I got The Running Man from Ezydvd which even had the carboard slip case for it. However it's not on their website. It does have an R 18 rating on it but it's the new crap version rating tag instead of the good ole version. _________________ Motorcycling - You don't need an excuse to ride, but you need an excuse not to ride.

Dexter - Bloody good show (literally), I don't like Dexter's fiance though. His brother kicks asses, too bad in the end he died
Lois & Clark season 3 - Great show, very funny and enjoyable, but not as good as the first season.
The L Word Season 4 - just finished it this evening, I have to say it's one of my favourite drama show, Bette and Jodi are so cute together gonna watch it again some day this week
Grey's anatomy season 1 - Just started, borrowed it from library, but great show, I'm now very interested in buying the whole series _________________ Click here to buy cheap Xbox 360, PS3 & Wii games!!! |

I personally don't know how you could have sat through the first two, but whatever. To me, it's like a dub episode of Sailor Moon: should be used as interrogation method in Guantanamo Bay.
I be watching V for Vendetta, and whatever else I can find, on the new tv on Thursday night. Will be epic. _________________ Fight for love like a soldier. |

Monday & Wednesday only nights of interest tv-wise:
Monday:
Top Gear (know f-all about cars, yet most entertaining show ever )
Good News week (funny as hell and should never be axed by evil government (rip Glass house )
Good Game (well, when it was still on )
Death Note (Not live action obviously, just mentioning it because it's integral to my TV schedule. Awesome show; hooked from day one; and its always great to see anime on free to air tv, especially a quality title like death note. Keep it up ABC 2; you've had a brilliant track record (Cowboy Bebop, Ergo Proxy, Death Note; what could be next? )
Wednesday:
Spicks and specks (a quiz show that's actually entertaining )
The Gruen Transfer (take that advertising! Also "Eat whale: It's the beef of the sea" )
That Mitchell and webb look (NUMBERWANG! ) _________________ Emoti-cons; TRANSFORM! lol |

I LOVE the scene where Otis is running and singing "Here he comes to save the day" and then he falls into a hole, I have the best memories of rewinding that over & over when I was a kid
As for me, Casshern was on SBS the other day, that was pretty good and I got the complete first season of Stargate for my birthday, so I'm reliving my love of Macgyver! That and polishing off the second season of Farscape. PLUS I'm trying to watch as much XFILES as I can before the new movie comes out. _________________ He would stare at empty chairs

I decided to watch Gabriel with dad yesterday during dinner. Dad enjoyed it for the most part until the end. The ending had him shaking his head.
I found it pretty enjoyable. Reminded me of Dark City. _________________ Motorcycling - You don't need an excuse to ride, but you need an excuse not to ride.

The new season of Americas Next Top Model, which I never miss. I am totally in love with Tyra Banks, so I try to catch her talkshow as well (its a bit hit and miss, at times).
Our Foxtel is off right now, too, so I'm watching my series of Scrubs, Buffy and Angel and probably Firefly for the 20th time. _________________ Neko mimi mo-do desu |

I've been repeating Angel on DVD the past few weeks. The fact that it got cancelled while movies from Jason Friedberg & Aaron Seltzer continually get greenlit is proof that there is no justice.
Also portions of WWE whenever I catch it. |

Just finished watching Run Fatboy Run and found it pretty good. No gore in this film with Simon Peg and that was fun to see. Also love Hank Azaria in it. He tends to be the guy who always get the small end of the stick for a lot of the movies he's been in.
Not as funny as others but still a good romp. _________________ Motorcycling - You don't need an excuse to ride, but you need an excuse not to ride.

I find it criminal that no-one has mentioned Burn Notice. Its like MacGuyver redone for the current generation.
Meanwhile I've been running through the IFLS (incomplete) list of the 100 funniest movies of the last century, of which I can assure you that The Man Who Knew Too Little is quite possibly one of the funniest films I've seen in a long time. _________________ -=Facta non Verba=- |

EL GASP ... You take that back!
Ahem, anyway, all this recent talk of Batman made me want to delve into the vault and pull out the Micheal Keaton versions. Now I also have to watch the Val Kilmer one as I can't remember how it went and its been bugging me all day. _________________ He would stare at empty chairs

This is the movie that took Tim Burton's vision of batman and murdered it.
There were so many things wrong with it that it is hard to know where to begin.
The main offenders would be....
Robin
Neon
complete 180 in atmosphere from adult and brooding to childish and silly
Not even Tommy Lee Jones was able to save it. _________________ "That wasn't a battle, it was assisted suicide!" - Zephyr (Resonance of Fate) |
