I know Im getting ahead of myself here as I haven't even gone halfway through Season 1, but Wikipedia said there is a Season 2 of Code Geass (R2).
Has anyone seen glimpses of it at all?

Yes, there is a second season. Some people on these boards have seen it through methods we're not allowed to talk about here.

Madman have already acquired R2 but aren't releasing it yet for obvious reasons.

The second season is good. I could be mean and spoils stuff, since i watched the fansubs ^^

I'm guessing that's the method we're forbidden to talk about? :3

Shhh! Don't even mention you watched a fansub lol, just pretend you watched it magically or read about it at most. Madman, actually the Anime industry in general don't like it, which is understandable.

On the general topic of season 2 (and me just having received the last 2 volumes of the R1 release), anyone heard any street dates for R2? Or a general idea of when it's going to be released.

From R1, or R4. R4 won't definately be for a while seeing as only Volume 2 is released. Where as R1 they are showing it on TV now, and I'm pretty it should be any time soon, although there is no pre-orders available anywhere.

There's been a delay of about 2 months with R2 airing in ths US. Rumours are it's because they've run out of dub to air.
After May when V4 comes out it will be released monthly anyway(according to Sly a few months ago) so it hopefully it won't be long until were into R2 here as well.

A warning. While the 2nd season is awesome, it also becomes something of a Code Trainwreck at about episode 20. A fun trainwreck, but still a trainwreck. ^^;

I know. I've seen it. I've loved it. That's why I want it.

Mostly I'm just debating whether to watch my copy of Volume 6 now and endure that cliff hanger yet again, or wait until closer to R2's release date.

*grins* It's awesome, isn't it?

I'm so glad that I held off even watching the first season of Code Geass in Japanese until the 2nd season was almost released. I don't know if I could have managed with the huge gap between the broadcast of episodes 24 and 25-26 of the original, let alone the massive gap between the two seasons.

It's not a train wreck, that's just a term it has been given by people on other forums which then get passed onto to others and so forth. It just simply ends, from the last 6 episodes, with massive plot twist and cliff hangers, all adding to the suspense and enjoyment. Very Happy

I understand that fans get TV/anime shows by 'other means', but I don't do this for one specific reason.
I want to get my money's worth out of my DVDs.
I pay Madman my $29.95 (or thereabouts) and they give me my DVD.
It's a fair trade.

I get it "by other meanes" cause otherwise I would 1 have 2 wait 4 ages, 2 I would have 2 pay a fortuen for all the anime I wanted, and 3 I can get a wider range of anime

umm... so many things wrong with this comment.
1. Learn to spell.
2. We don't mention "other means" here.
3. We pay a fortune for our anime because it's the right thing to do. You should support the anime industry.

I understand what you're saying, and despite the contradiction, I know it is wrong. But that's not to say I or many others here on the Madboards, or those everywhere else, don't pay for it afterwards once it's legal. There has to be an exposure somewhere and somehow for most series. I know there are two very strong sides to this industry related topic and those that just sit on the fence, but we can't really go into it here, it's off topic and we can't really talk about it in the first place.

Code Geass R2 (season 2) is by far the best anime series i have seen to date.
it even ends nicely, and ties up all the loose ends for a change (remember, its a sunrise anime)

its a must watch. Even more so than the first season.

although that cliffhanger at ep 24 in the first season, and again at episode 26 was nearly unbearable (hint: if you don't like to wait DO NOT WATCH EITHER OF THOSE EPISODES UNTIL THE NEXT DISC IS OUT)

if you were following the japanese TV releases, then you'll know what i mean about that - there was a 6-month wait between episode 24 and 25 and even longer between that and the second season....

I thought the S2 ending was incredible. It was something that is hinted at very early on, the idea that Zero would have to die if he was to fulfil his purpose but then that hint is actually fulfilled and makes for a very strong ending, much more so than a lot of anime I've seen recently.

S2 was a heck of a lot of fun. It's basically one giant battle spread over 20 episodes. But yeah, couldn't believe the S1 ending - talk about cliffhanger!

but seriously the one i saw that gave me the ending... it was episode 25...

but anyway...

oh and be careful this may accidentlly have spoilers in the series and also spoilers for death note

the thing is that it wasnt like death note where i didnt really have an opinion on who won... but with code geass they actually make you feel like you want loulou to win and suzaku, lelouch, nanalee, and C.C. to all stay happy or something... and did shirley die cuz i didnt see it and in the op... she wasnt in it at all... but some other people like her are e.g. the student council members... but i really wanted lelouch to not necisarilly win cuz he is kinda evil and he almost killed kallen etc. and overtaking but i wanted a more happy ending.. but i liked how they put that mucic that made me almost cry (i didnt cry cuz im used to it... almost all good anime does that so im controlling it)

soz 4 the long post

LOL no. It takes us a minimum of 3 months after the US releases due to material access, production and classification time

Crying or Very sad

Bust my dreams then. I can hope can't I? (Especially as I'm switching to the R4 considering some of the replication issues that have been plaguing Bandai over the last year or so and it's a lot easier to return a disc to my local JB Hi-Fi for a replacement than shipping it back to the states)

Something tells me that most of those 3 months is probably spent getting a classification...
