Having to wait a few days for my internet cycle to rollover I've only saw episode 53 yesterday. Has anyone noticed a problem with the audio? I was getting a flutter like the old miss tracking Hi-Fi VHS effect. |

I thought it was something wrong with my speakers so relieved to see that it wasn't something at my end. |

Glad it wasn't just me, then. A bit frustrating because 53 was such a fantastic episode otherwise. Really looking forward to 54. _________________ The Doctor: A straight line may be the shortest distance between two points, but it is by no means the most interesting.

Episode 54 is up.. go go go !!
The audio issues in the previous episode I believe was something to do with the encoding process, hopefully that should be fixed in this episode. _________________ "I just want one goddamn shower without the touchy touchy" |

Excellent episode. Major Armstrong versus Sloth. Izumi the "alchemist" rather than "passing housewife". Hoenheim facing Father. The death of Envy was moving, too. _________________ Nullus Anxietas |

Just got the bluray test discs for Brotherhood, it wasn't done by us so it won't have the "aussie" changes that I did for the upcoming local dvd release.
I'll test it out tonight and see how it goes. _________________ "I just want one goddamn shower without the touchy touchy" |

Episode 55 keeps the rollicking action happening. The "Teamwork" against Sloth is great fun. A fab episode.
@Sakuya
That's a shame your "Aussie changes" won't be on the Blu-ray, but I appreciate the reason.
I don't know if licencing costs or marketing strategies would permit this, but I wonder if Madman would consider some sort of offer that bundles both DVD and Blu-ray versions. Disney does this with some of their BD titles. Admittedly it's all in the same package and they're Disney original productions but what a great thing to be doing during this transition from BD to DVD. |

Due to being a third-party property, doing such a double barreled release would probably be cost prohibitive. Also, the duplication would be two discs worth, pushing such a set to four discs.
Just finished it. Seig's and Alex's manly combining for the win! Scratch another homunculus. Also, he's baaa-ack.Eight episodes to go. Woo! _________________ Nullus Anxietas |

Since someone else is doing the Bluray making, does that mean the bluray will also miss out on the steel case? |

55 was awesome, the man-love boob jiggle was just one of many highlights in this episode.
Can anyone please tell me whether the manga been completed or are there still more volumes to be released? And how many volumes are there in total currently?
(I think we are up to 22 here with the CY MM release) |

There are 25 volumes currently released in Japan. Episode 55 covered the first chapter of volume 24, and I think some of the second chapter, too...
There are rumours that the manga will end at 108 chapters, apparently. Chapter 107 will be out sometime in the next week, so if the rumours are true, we're really only one month away from the end.
All I can say beyond that is that the final episodes are going to be spectacular.

Well here are the details for the local bluray release, it's pretty much identical to the Region A US release. Except it's Region A and B.
1080p @24fps encoded in AVC.
5.1 English Dolby HD
2.0 Japanese Dolby HD (english subtitles automatically turn on if you select this)
Disk 1 - 9 episodes (commentary for the extra)
Disk 2 - 4 episodes (commentary, clean ops and ends and trailers - trailers are in SD 480p)
13 Episodes all up.
Picture quality, it's a pity the Japanese track isn't 5.1 as well but it's still clean even though it's only 2.0.
Ops and Ends are in Japanese they did not do an English version.
That's pretty much it, I'm going to get it on bluray, the picture clarity is quite amazing (hooray for high def). _________________ "I just want one goddamn shower without the touchy touchy" |

The news blog has announced episodes 3-13 will be taken down at the beginning of June. Subsequent episodes will be removed a month before being released in collections. _________________ Nullus Anxietas |

56 was brilliant, awesome battle scenes and the flashback at the start was helpful for those like me who are not current with the manga. The preview for next week implies something sad or bad is going to happen, I hope it's not another Hughes moment as I'm still all cried out from that one. |

There wasn't a single scene with Ed or Al in that episode, if I'm remembering right. It was quite an interesting episode without them. Also, the piece of music that played in the Hohenheim flashback right at the beginning was oddly brilliant. _________________ The Doctor: A straight line may be the shortest distance between two points, but it is by no means the most interesting.

It's up now, you might notice a small addition - MORE ADVERTS! (Nah just kidding). |
First time we have had the OP and ED lyrics subbed in English isn't it? Well done, episode 57 was awesome. Couple of sad moments in there and the final scenes were something I was totally unprepared for. Can't wait until next week's episode! (Sakuya, cld we have it up by Wednesday?! pretty please) |

I remember speaking about it in either this thread or another and the reason that the OP's and ED's didn't have subs was that the official translations had to be supplied from Japan I believe. |

Always excellent to be able to watch this earlier than expected! Awesome episode, Greed/Ling is a terrific character! Bit of tragedy in this episode again, the whole salute scene was pretty sad and the last couple of minutes are brilliant, can't wait for next week. |

Oh the end game! Every episode has me salivating for more. The fact that I know what's coming thanks to the manga in no way diminishes the level of anticipation. If anything it only heightens the tension.

Ah, I've been fearing watching this episode for months now, but honestly Riza's...uh...wounding... was nowhere near as horrifying as I was expecting. I guess that having read the manga version already lessens the impact of the scene.
I say this to myself every week but I'm really looking forward to the next episode. This next bit is one of my favourite scenes in the series. Also, I'm very glad that the next episode previews refrain from spoiling anything particularly major here.
For anyone who cares, this episode pretty much wrapped up the first chapter of volume 25 (chapter 100, I'm pretty sure), but the end did bleed a few pages into the next chapter. Ooh, we're closing in.
On a completely different point has anyone else heard Ling, Lan Fan and Fu's dub voices in the latest episode? I'm unsure about Ling at the moment, it more than likely won't take very long to get used to. Pretty much used to new dubAl at this point, but Scar is a bit jarring. _________________ The Doctor: A straight line may be the shortest distance between two points, but it is by no means the most interesting.

Awesome! I can't believe it's almost over. I read V22 earlier this week, wish I was able to read the volumes that covered these recent episodes.
Have many people pre-ordered the first collection that MM is releasing? I ordered the BD one a couple of weeks ago. Madman's decision to release Collection Five with an artbox for both the dvd and BD collections is welcome news too. And foil slicks!

LOL... funnily enough I'll be working on the FMA-B dvd release, I'll still be subbing that but another guy will author the DVD together. I guess subbing the DVDs was just a natural progression from working with the web based version.
FMA-B is just one of many of my projects, I mostly author the SBS titles and I have a whole lot of Fifa World Cup projects coming up.
I am currently working on the NANA dvds though, authoring, subbing, etc. So if the dvds doesn't work... er blame Sly.
BTW for those who are attending the Sydney or Perth Supanova conventions, the english voice actors of Ed, Roy and Lust will be there, so that'd be a great time to get your dvds / bluray signed (co-incidentally the FMA-B blurays and DVDs will be out by then), I'll be at both conventions, so I'll have my copies handy. _________________ "I just want one goddamn shower without the touchy touchy" |

@Sakuya, Glad you’re keeping busy and keeping up the skill.
Something funny happened with this thread over the weekend with a new page being added. I was seeing the Email notifications of comments being added but kept getting a "No Posts for this Topic Exist". I've just realized this is because I was taken to the new page. Anyway I'm glad to be able to post again.
Sakuya, I've never been to a convention but will try my best to make it to the Sydney Supanova to shake your hand and say thanks in person! |
