well i bought this strong world figure of chopper the other day and it's my first ever real anime figure and so i was wondering if my figure is fake because the stand/base seems a little off so do the boxes of the figures have stickers of auethenticity to prove that the figure is real because i'm thinking of buying another one and i don't want a fake one so i'm just wondering if the figure is fake so then i will not buy from that site again ( i am willing to take pictures of the figure box so you guy's can see it )

One of the main things is the price, if it's too good of a price then it probably is (not always though).

If anything do your research on other websites, some to look at are HLJ, Hobby Search and possibly Play-Asia, though Play-asia will generally be a little more expensive than the other sites.

Another is E2046.com which has more US pricing.

Pictures are the best thing to be posting in a thread like this.

Here's an example of a bootleg I bought at Animania a couple of years ago:

It was a very, very high quality bootleg. The only way to know if it was a bootleg would be to open up the box and check out the base, but Hobby Dream (never buy from them, ever) won't let a customer at a convention do that. The base is entirely incorrect, the figure itself is supposed to have a square base with a metal faceplate.

A good way to check if there are known bootlegs of a figure is to check the entry for the figure & the bootleg finder forum at http://myfigurecollection.net/

I believe Play-asia is a safe company to buy from so you should be ok. Smile

Sorry for Hijack.
I am slowly building my stuff on here and have some stuff I can't find in the database. I also noticed some stuff on there that looks like it was added by you? If so, how did you do that? Could a clueless n00b like me do it?

No, you have to have a certain "Rank" to be able to add things to the database.

Yes I have added a number of artbooks & CDs to the database.

Click on databases at the top & then click on add an entry. the fields are fairly self explanitory. If in doubt or you don't quite have all the info tick the draft box.

No you don't, unless the rules have changed. I was just an ordinary level user when I started adding entries. Normal level users however can only alter items that they have entered themselves or items that are marked as 'Draft'.
