Ok obviously this is nowhere near complete, actually it’s just a start hopefully. For some strange reason music in anime doesn’t seem to get a lot of attention, most people know the artists that did the opening and closing music in their favourite anime but not the composer that wrote (and often produced) the music in the actual show. I’ve made this list so hopefully some people can maybe start getting into a different series because of the composer or just get to know their names. Listed is the composers name, SOME EXAMPLE titles of anime they have composed for, their wiki page (if it exists) and in some cases the official websites. Some of them have fan comment sections and even email and postal addresses. So if you like their work… let them know. If there is enough interest I will add to this list. I’m also working on Full Bio’s for each composer and maybe a similar list to this for Game Composers. Hope some-one finds this useful.

Here's some more for the ones you list...

Yoko Kanno
Earth Girl Arjuna, The Vision of Escaflowne (which was a collaboration between her and her husband Hajime Mizoguchi), Magnetic Rose (a segment in "Memories" directed by Satoshi Kon). She also did the soundtrack for the Dreamcast game Napple Tail, and the old Famicom/NES game Nobunaga's Ambition.

She also produces all Maaya Sakamoto records.

Shiro Sagisu
His And Her Circumstances, Nadia of the Seas of Mystery, other GAiNAX stuff?

Taku Iwasaki
Also did Now And Then, re And There.

Kenji Kawai
Vampire Princess Miyu, Fate/Stay Night, Hyper Police (I *think*), pretty much any film Oshii has directed (including the live-action film Avalon).

Joe Hisaishi
Also does OSTs for most of "Beat" Takeshi Kitano's films.

Kou Ootani
Gundam Wing

Tsuneo Imahori
Trigun, Gungrave. Is also a member of Yoko Kanno's band, Seatbelts, and probably plays guitar on a large amount of their work.

Hajime Mizoguchi
Married to Kanno, he's generally responsible for the more symphonic compositions on her soundtracks. Also did the OST for Texhnolyze and Jin-Roh.

Susumu Hirasawa
Works with Satoshi Kon, also a prolific solo artist. Done soundtracks for Detonator Orgun, Berserk, Millennium Actress, Paranoia Agent and Kon's upcoming film Paprika.
