I went into Minotaur today and bought a couple of graphic novels - Batman: The Dark Knight Returns and The Death of Superman.

I picked up the new (well current) Warhammer Fantasy hardback rules, and ordered my sisters christmas present (a pocket leather filofax as she's a hair dresser so it should prove very handy for her).

Bought Avantasia - The Wicked Symphony & Angel of Babylon - Double Album Deluxe Edition.

I already had these albums, but this release comes in a box with both albums in digipack form and a matching booklet separating the albums. This will look good beside the Avantasia - The Scarecrow digipack release. Very Happy Very Happy

Speaking of concert tickets-

I bought Tickets to Florence and the Machine's concert in May.
Was going to get them when they went up yesterdy but had problems, I actually had my mother order them while I was at school because I didn't want to risk all the seats being sold because after one day the inner circle and the standing area were already fully sold out.
Got decent seats and going with two other friends and her sister is going but with her friends in another seating area- so we at least have supervision to and from the concert.

Just so freaking happy I am going to Florence live! Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

Bought some Bose OE2 headphones today. Was going to wait a bit but we sold some this morning so I put the last one aside and ended up grabbing it.

So much more convenient than my Dr Dre Studio Beats headphones. Active noise cancellation makes songs sound a bit odd and having to turn the things on and off is annoying (mostly because I forget to turn it off and find I can't use them).

Also got a $30 gift card with it's purchase as well which is nice. Smile

I've just bought a new Sansa Clip+ 8+16gb mp3 player.

My old Fuze is showing it's age, and the clip was 35 which means that I got the mp3 player (8gb) for ~20, and the micro SD card for it's nomrmal price Smile
It also means that my old player can now be relegated to the garage for listening too whilst airbrushing, and playing wargames (I'll have to load the DOW soundtrack to it).

And slightly more boringly, I got a replacement regulator and hoze for our portable gas heater that sits in the garage.

Using my store discount and my lovely gift card I bought an awesome Industrie leather-style jacket (it's some form of synthetic material), a supremely cool Industrie slim-fit hoodie and a Lee shirt that says Medium but it fits more like an extra large (I didn't try it on or even unfold it Razz). All up I paid about $30. Very Happy

I bought a "starter set" for my Dymo printer last night.

It cost more than the printer did after the cashback on that Wink but was the cheapest way to get a third spool, and several label types I wanted Smile (I paid 33 for the set, which has 5 packs of labels each worth 12+ and the spool that costs about 15 on it's own).

I also ordered the blu-ray + dvd set of Attack the Block (great film), as I spotted it for a tenner, which is a lot cheaper than the Blu-ray version on it's own:p

We've been hitting pretty close to 40 degrees for the past few days. And when the house temp reads 36 degrees inside at 10:30pm, you know you need one. And that temp is with all doors and windows open too >_<

Bought one of the new "street" PSPs today as well as a new 5-tier bookshelf.

The PSP is awesome and feels so much better than my old one (which I think was a second generation?). Love the matte finish too. Mostly bought this though considering the Vita doesn't have a UMD drive.

As for the bookshelf, lovely chocolate brown and is rather solid. Got it from Sam's Warehouse for $59 so no complaints. A pain in the arse to put together though. About a million times harder than it needed to be. The backboard, for instance, needs to be nailed in instead of screwed in. Still, looks nice and will fit things. Razz

Now I'm playing with power!

Once Mario 3 arrives, I plan to test the console to see if it all works the way it should. If it's all good, I plan to pull thing apart and give everything a good scrubbing.

I'd like to pull mine apart too but i'm too chicken to do it in fear of wrecking something.

There is a little trick of sliding in the cart off the edge carefully, if you have a blinker, which mine is, it works if you get it right. Played Mario on it last time I played it, need to get more games for it though.

Gotta find my N64 and get the AV cables off it so I can use one my SNES consoles on the TV and see which one works too

The NES is absurdly easy to pull apart. Hell, it uses regular Philips head screws instead of the security screws that the cartridges used. You can find a million videos on YouTube showing you how to pull them apart and clean them. Also, you know what's an even better trick to get the NES working than the "slide" trick? Opening up the NES and fixing/replacing the 72 pin connector. Wink

There's also a S-video cable that works on the SNES and N64. It's not exactly HDMI, but it's better than RCA.

I was thinking about getting one of those. Is it as ugly as the pictures indicate? Also, where'd you get yours from and for how much? Was looking at eBay and the prices are pretty decent but I might opt for a lower spec model just because it's super expensive. Razz That, and I'm a bit wary about buying a computer on eBay.

I got it for $2000 from a place in Sydney when I was down there called Digital Star, I think you can get it for about $1900 somewhere else at the cheapest though. I bought for that price because I just wanted to walk into a store and buy it instead of buying online and worrying about it.
When I first unboxed it I thought it was a bit ugly, but it is definately growing on me, the way it looks reminds me of an F-117 haha.
The sort of rubbery finish on the place where your palms rest is actually really nice, and I'm liking the backlit keyboard.
The screen is gorgeous as well. Very high quality.
The extra part at the back, those massive exhast looking things are working well too, keeps the main part of the computer cool.
EDIT: The more I look at it, the more I actually think it looks really cool. I'd definately reccomend this laptop, can run Skyrim on max settings at 1920x1080 resolution at a good frame rate.

Awesome, will probably get one whenever I can get the money together. Smile Think the prices on eBay were about $1750 so we'll see how I go. Would rather go into a store even if I have to pay the extra as well.

Is it noisy, by the way? Just seems it is all.

Nah it's not really noisy, I think it's designed to like, push the noise away.
My only gripe is that the speakers could be louder... but this is a common thing for most laptops I've found. I'll get a nice headset later this week.

On Saturday, went to Kino and picked up Naruto Shippuden collection 2, Shuffle, Bleach manga fat packs 1-3, 4-6, 7-9, Bleach character book on Souls. And some plushies for the boy.

Yesterday, cake mix to make the Beasts' birthday cake for today.

Package came this morning. Mostly games but it also did contain the Extended Edition Lord of the Rings set on Bluray. Rather nice box. Not as big of a fan of the movies as some people but having it all on lovely bluray will be nice and it wasn't expensive at all so that's also good.

So my awesome Skyrim soundtrack rocked up today. It's pretty spectacular and makes me want to play the game oh so much. I assumed the packaging was going to be one of those tall book-like packs but it's just a regular foldout sleeve.

Problem was that I paid for the bloody thing 2 months ago and have only just received it. Got notification that it was sent a little over a week ago which meant that they were sitting on my money for that long. Confused Oh, and they sent it without shrink-wrap which annoying me for some reason - just sort of plonked it in the package. Probably more annoyed with this because it took them two months to do it...

Finally got around to buying the new Brisbane Roar kit today. Bloody expensive though. 120 bucks. Sad Went to get a medium but the only medium they had was a bit frayed so I put the small against it and they looked similar. Got home and tried it on and it certainly would look better if I was fit. Razz

Got two films I had already seen today as they just came out-
The Help and Love Never Dies (recording of the Australian production, it's not just a filming of the stage like what you'd expect from other home releases of proper productions, it's actually filmed like a proper movie and quite well done) My mother is in the other room watching The Help right now Razz while I just checked what the Love Never Dies DVD was like, it's a little fuzzy on the eyes in comparison to seeing it live, but I couldn't justify the purchase of the Blu-ray right now.
Although I am quite pleased with how it was filmed etc.

Both of these DVDs will be a must at the next movie marathon with my friends.

Well, I decided that it was about time I got around to getting an e-reader (largely so I can read Neal Stephenson novels without needing to carry a book the size and weight of a cinder block with me), so I've ordered a Kindle Touch.
