At least you've started it, I'm STILL playing ME2. I'll play some more after my girlfriend is finished with Final Fantasy IX.

Mass Effect 3: The One Where Every Character You Ever Liked From The First Two Games Dies.

I went through two semi-major character deaths in half an hour last night. Sad

I may or may not have cried when Mordin died.

To be fair, one of those deaths was telegraphed from Mass Effect 2.

I've also come to the realisation that I could never pursue a romance with Garrus, solely because I like him too much. I've somehow managed to friendzone him. :/

EDIT: So anyway, it turns out that if you disable Origin In-game, then all your Mass Effect 3 crashes will go away.

I finally finished Kingdoms of Amalur just now, clocking in at more hours than I care to admit. Razz

All I need to do for the platinum trophy is finish the game on hard, which I'll do when I (eventually) play through as a rogue or sorcerer.

Now onto Mass Effect 3, so I can learn what happens for myself rather than being stupid enough to look under the spoiler tags in this thread!

I think the ending is only disappointing if you're an American, and can't handle any ending that isn't the heroes lighting a cigar and happily riding off into the sunset.

Replace "heroes" with "ruthless psychopaths" and "riding off into the sunset" with "riding a nuclear warhead like a mechanical bull as it falls onto Russia/Reaper's homebase" and that's my expectation for how this game *should* end.

Mass Effect 3's ending has made it easy for Bioware to continue the franchise even though Shepards story is complete (I was wondering how they would do this). I can't wait to see where this series goes from here.

Bioware wrote:
Muzyka said "Mass Effect 3 is simultaneously a couple of different things: a thrilling and epic conclusion to the trilogy as we promised our fans we’d provide for Commander Shepard, but it’s also a brand new beginning– it’s an entry point for new fans and it’s also a brand new beginning.

I didn't understand this quote last year, but it makes a lot more sense now.

I would play ME3 if one of it's endings was an homage to Dr Strangelove.

Since everyone was uploading their Shepards earlier, here's mine. I'm just over twenty-seven hours into Mass Effect 2, and I've just completed the derelict Collector ship mission. I still need to recruit the Justicar and Tali, and then do theirs plus Thane's loyalty missions. Then I can complete the game and advance to Mass Effect 3!

I apologise for all the glare, it is morning after all.

THINGS I HAVE LEARNED FROM THIS THREAD: Julia Gillard saves the galaxy.

My housemate's Shepard can best be described as Rei Ayanami Shepard.

I think I'm going to be a bit more creative with my ME3 Shepard. Give her a full makeover. I didn't realise how uncreative I was until after I finished ME1 (I never got into it when ME1 and 2 were really popular, so I kinda played the game off the grid).

Just finished a Renegade run of ME1+2, so now I'm finally ready to get stuck into number 3.

Figured I'd have a little fun in the post-game...

Just to combo-break the ME3 discussion, last night I finally finished Chrono Trigger. That game did some pretty amazing stuff with regards to time-travel, like how you can fight the final boss multiple times if you fight them for the first time in the future then work your way back to the past. Though for some odd reason, the final final boss stays dead and so do multiple sub-bosses, even if you actually defeated them in the future.

I noticed my local EB was selling the Acer Iconia the other day, actually.

I really don't understand the point of Android tablets, though. I mean, you can't even run a decent operating system on them.

(Also, someone needs to tell Samsung that Flash playback is the exact opposite of a selling point.)

I never understood why EB Games and GAME accept iPad trade-ins. They don't sell them in their stores, so where are they going?

Its so their executives don't have to pay full price Razz

Back to ME3 (should probably make a thread for it by now Razz ), the biggest difference between the games I've seen is that not only can Shepard sport a hair colour that isn't natural (Purple hair FTW), but now he/she can actually dance! (and not just shuffle awkwardly next to other people on the dance-floor)

I wouldn't be surprised if they ended up somewhere else in the parent company's supply chain, that or what YRD said (lol)
You can find weird stuff in EB games, one in Perth still has a new PS2... for $168 or something, in a really beat up box, and another is selling a first generation 20(40 maybe?) gig ps3 for $550 with a "PLAYS PS2 GAMES!" sticker on it.

Frisbee.

In other news, there is a chance of Skies of Arcadia and Shenmue getting HD ports. Not that anybody on here is going to care about anything like that. Wink

Razz

Paid $60 for my used GCN copy of SoA and the whole time I knew something like this would happen. Sad

ME3 needed its own thread a year ago.

Diablo 3 now has a release date, May 15th.

Yes friends, another seal has been broken and soon the door to Lucifer's cage will swing wide open. The last? If Half Life Episode 3 (or Half Life 3) is shown/gets a release date, well might as well say good bye to all you know and love.

I love you Sega. Just make sure you do them properly. 1080p would be nice, and make Shenmue bilingual Wink

I.. honestly didnt really like either of the titles. I don't hate them, but they both had their own flaws that pretty much stopped me from being able to really settle in and enjoy them. If these were remakes instead of skin jobs I'd be much happier and would be eager to try them again.

Arcadia was awesome from what I played but everything just happens really, really slow. As in movement, opening things and that sort of stuff. It's a bit of a pet peeve of mine I guess.

Shenmue would be interesting though as I've yet to play it. Seems interesting. Smile

A rumour is suggesting that SEGA are sitting on HD ports of Shenmue and Shenmue II. Apparently they're holding out until something is decided on Shenmue III. Or something.

The exchange on the bridge between Joker and Garrus was also hilarious.

So, not only is the Blasto joke now a thing, its also apparently an ME universe version of Lethal Weapon 2. With Mel Gibson as a Hanar and Danny Glover as an Elcor who prefixes every sentence with the emotional prefix of "Badassfully".

Now that would get me back into a cinema.

A rumour is suggesting that SEGA are sitting on HD ports of Shenmue and Shenmue II. Apparently they're holding out until something is decided on Shenmue III. Or something.

Oh man, it mentions Skies of Arcadia too, would love to play that again. I was nostalging over that the other day while walking around the Normandy in ME3, thinking about how you could upgrade your ship and everything. Loved the death out of that game.

Speaking of ME3, finished it today. Everybody else is wrong, the ending is awesome. I went with the synergy ending, felt like a really satisfying wrap-up of what grew to be a much larger plot than simply blowing up Reapers. My imagination has been in overdrive thinking about what happened to the people of the galaxy, I don't really see a need for Bioware to hand it all to people on a plate... the game was Shepard's epic tale (it even says that at the end!) so the rest is a tale for another day...

Also, caught Tali and Garrus having sloppy makeouts in the forward battery. Fixing a suit rupture my ass.

I was going to court Jacob in ME2, but then I said 'f*uck it' and decided to go with Garrus. He loves to wiki inter-species hoo haa.
