I recently picked up the March/April 2011 Anime Update and in the Mad Acquisitions it says that the original Mobile Suit Gundam series will be released in Australia with both Japanese and English Audio.
Also Gundam Unicorn will be released in Australia. Hopefully it will be released both on DVD and Blu-ray.

Unicorn will be DVD-only when released in Australia.

There was an announcement a while ago.

This is unfair. Does anyone know a good website I can use to import Blu-ray from the US, I heard that the blu-ray versions are region free.

Amazon is the place to get it from but it is expensive considering each Blu Ray only has a single 40 minute episode on it.

Amazon doesn't let me buy from them for some reason.

Have you ever used rightstuf!? They are the company i use the most, almost averything i import from the States i get from them.

They have the Gundam Unicorn Blu-Rays and they are roughly $10US cheaper then most other places that are selling them, like Amazon.

I havent actually ordered the Unicorn BD's yet, but i am planning to get them at some stage. I normally wait till there is a few volums of somehting released before i will watch it. So i havent been in too much of a rush to order it. But no doubt i will be placing an order for it soon. sice the 3rd volume is almost released.

The only thing is, if you have not shopped with them before, you will have to set an account(thats probably the best word to describe it) Its not hard you just ave to give them your details and like a few scans of certain things to varify your card and shipping address.

But i highly recomend them... Most likey once you use them, you will end up order a fair bit from them. Laughing

When you say Mobile Suit Gundam coming to Australia, do you mean the original Gundam from 79?

If so, I'm getting that one! It's one of my most wanted shows to get on DVD!

I know the original Mobile Suit Gundam is still a while away, but i thought i would get in early on this. Hopefully before or while Madman is still on the pre-production or authoring stages of the release.

Since this is going to be a dual language release. Will episode 15 be included in this release? I ask because episode was never dubbed and was not included in the previous dub only western release by Bandai.

Iím not sure where Bandai stands on it or if they will be including it in the new dual language version that they are going to be releasing... But it would be really nice if Madman is able to include it in their set. Obviously it would have to be sub only since there is no dub available for episode 15. So maybe you wouldn't actually include it in the 'main feature' of the discs, but it would be still nice to have it, maybe if its included in the extras/special features. That way we have the complete series when it gets released.

This way fans who like to watch the sub version of this series will finally have a legal way to watch the entire series.

So yeah what are the chances of Madman getting us a subtitled only version of episode 15 to out in this release, so we can have the complete series?

It's a little odd that statement seeing as we've practically released almost everything there is to release ^^;;;;;

Igloo's a little obsecure. Also there's no dub. We'd love to keep the releases consistent by offering dubs and subs for everything.

I for one would love to see a local release of MS Igloo as it is very hard to find a legit copy these days (and when it is available it is way too expensive for what it is).

Shame it probably wont get a release here because a lack of a dub.

Yeah i'd love to get MS Igloo too, as its vertually impossible to get these days. Thats pretty much the only western released Gundam series i havent got (except for SD Gundam series and the original series, but i will soon have, when Madman releases it.)

The only series left for Madman to relase that are dubbed are SD, G, 0080(OVA series) and F91(movie). I doubt they would bother spending thte money on eith SD of G, so it only really leaves 0088 and the F91 movie.

Nope. Just the series... They have never relaesed any of the "compliation movies" that have been made for any of the Gundam series'. (Unless you include Millers report, but that was included as part of the 08th MS team collection.)

MM did release Gundam 00 - Awakening of the Trailblazer, but that is utter crap, crap and crap.

MM also did Gundam Wing - Endless Waltz which isn't a movie, but might as well have been considering the length of it.

They were going to release the G SEED movies, but after very bad reviews, didn't release them out here. Proberly put them off the GSD movies because of it.

The Seed movies were cut from the tv series and the same goes for the GSD movies, but with extended footage. They're already been released in the US.

That was for the UMD release, but it and the other 2 are out on dvd as well.

The GSD movie 1 with box. There's 4 movies for GSD.

Nope. Don't know of one being done for GSD.

MM has also released Char's Counterattack which is also a movie.
