I don't think Madman would sell discs that were un-readable by 95% of their customer base to begin with...

Just checked mine, Region A...... must of missed this article as I was overseas at the time...

hmm, wonder if it is too late to get them exchanged?

EDIT:

No wait, that was last year, and I ordered both collections from Madman in January this year... Now thats not right.

i didn't , recently grabbed a sealed set off ebay - seller was nice enough to refund but im still stuck with a region locked US set as well and to top it all off they are both the exzact same discs from the top up .

there are far to many old pressings still out there.

I would think that if you got a refund, you don't really have a right to get corrected discs. Doing so could conceivably be theft, getting the series for free.

That's just uninformed, amateur opinion. Not to be used as a legal defense in a court of law.

I've contacted Madman about issues regarding their DVD sets(receiving 2 of the same disc etc.) even if I didn't buy them from Madman, and all I had to do was send in the affected discs(at my own cost of course) and they sent me replacements.

they (MM) use to put a red star at the end of the prodoct code to indercate that it was a fixed version. I think I use to have a GitS:SAC fat pack that was like that or something

i first got my copy of soul eater collection 1 when it was released last year as region A only. i contacted madman and i was told that a replacement would be sent out when it was fixed. then early in the year i got a package from madman and i had no clue what it was. turns out it was the replacement and that copy worked perfectly. so seeing as you have gotten a refund, you might be able to send in the discs to get replaced. otherwise you would just need to buy a whole new set, as the only copys that arn't fixed copies should be from people on auction sites like ebay or shops who didnt get rid of the stock like they were told to.

Except the ones I ordered from Madman 6 months after the defect notice went out, were the defected copies, doesn't always apply. Abroad atm so will get replacements when I get back.

All exchanges are to be handled with your original place of purchase. You must show proof of purchase to get the replacement discs.

orders@madman.com.au team will be happy to give you more information.

I imagine the ebay invoice you were emailed should suffice.

Ah, yeah no. We will not take ebay discs back. The thing is that the seller could have gotten replacement discs already and just sold his previous set on ebay to make a profit.

We will not exchange these discs if you have purchased them second hand or via ebay.

The bookkeeping costs of setting up this sort of once-off transaction would be higher than the gross even at list price, let alone the remaining profit margin after your discount.

Stock tracking and so forth is actually a significant cost; it's only affordable because madman ship thousands of every unit. Setting up a new "Stock Keeping Unit"[1] for a single unit fairly obviously involves per-unit costs literally thousands of times higher.

[1] "but was that really such a good idea?"

To be fair,
If you were refunded I am sure it won't kill you to buy the fixed discs as you've gotten that money back from the wrong discs...
