So psyched for that. Apparently the Japanese release is absolutely gorgeous.

Heh, at the Viz panel at anime expo they've mentioned Blue Exorcist will be getting a dub. I'm sure that's gonna piss a few early adopters off.
As for me I'm hoping it equates to a BD release.

Well if one of those early adopters happens to be the largest anime distributor in Australia... Razz

One would think Madman would care more if it had a dub than not, considering almost all of it prior releases. ;D

I was more-so talking about, oh how should I put it? Weeaboos?

Hmmm... Time to cancel my order with rightstuf... I have all four parts sitting in an order being held up by Clannad After Story BD...
Lucky, as im definitely the type of person that wants everything of something when im buying it. I mean i didnt mind that it was sub only, cos thats all there was... But if there is a bi-langual release. Im always gonna want that.

NIS America have licenced Umineko: When they Cry to be released in December in 2 Premium Edition parts on Blu Ray. I held out no hope of this ever getting a US release.

At the licenstor's request, the Sentai release of Persona 4 on Blu-ray will not feature Japanese audio. However, the DVD will contain Japanese audio.

Preorder = cancelled.

I might have listened to the english dub anyway, but since this was a blind buy anyway I'm not buying it on principle. Maybe the full collection released in about 12 months will contain both languages?
I won't be missing out on the story though, since I'll be buying the vita remake for P4 later this year.

Edit: Apparently Kaze in the UK are yet to receive a request to remove the Japanese track from their BD version that is to be released later this year. That could obviously change though.

I really wish people would stop pirating our intellectual property, which we're consciously with-holding from those of you who want it.

Actually, I think the concern is more the Japanese distributer doesn't want a cheaper foreign version being imported by the Japanese.

This is true, it sucks, wouldn't it just be easier to negotiate with the U.S. distributor to not allow Japanese customers to purchase the product, like at times with Amazon when "The following items cannot be shipped to your destination" sort of thing, I don't understand why things like that can't just be set up to stop reverse-importation, seems like a simple solution.

That's pretty much the case with Aniplex USA's releases. Right Stuf originally had the restriction of not shipping to Japan written on item pages, but from about Madoka Magica onwards, it was changed to for sale in the US/Canada only (although they don't appear to actually follow that rule; they'll happily take anyone's money, except if it's yen)).

FUNimation have finally rescued Tenchi Universe, everyone on Amazon marketplace attempting to sell sealed copies of the original Geneon boxset for $500 will be crying themselves to sleep this week.

Ouch, hahaha

I don't know ig the people selling them would feel that bad, anyone who's actually paid that much however is a completely different story...

Looks like Aniplex of America is going to bring Nisemonogatari out at some point. Format has not been confirmed yet and probably be the same price as Bakemonogatari.

I went out of my way to watch that episode after hearing about it. I'd've watched the whole series, but the lack of Bake on Crunchyroll was a hinderance. I like starting from the beginning.

Cutie Honey has been licenced.
Yes. The ORIGINAL Cutie Honey anime.

I am actually so happy, I didn't think it'd get it's time to shine.

Here is hoping this might lead to a release of Cutie Honey F (Flash) which doesn't appear to have a single set of complete English fansubs out.

In a move that surprised absolutely noone, Aniplex USA has licensed Sword Art Online. Seeing as AniUSA made the OP CDs available, it was inevitable that they'd do the series.

Oh, yeah, they also got Blast of Tempest and Magi.

I guess it depends if it's an import or locally-authored. It probably won't be an import, though, due to being released as single volumes Japan-side.

A bizarre announcement from Harmony Gold; they've suddenly licenced "Mospeada: Love, Live, Alive" which they plan to release as "Robotech: Love Live Alive" (though they have no distributor for the video yet). Despite what Harmony Gold says, there is no "new" animation in the OVA/Music Video compilation other than bridging animation from the 1985 original (i.e. Tatsunoko hasn't created new animation specifically for Harmony Golds release of the video).

Right Stuf has announced Princess Knight. Unfortunately it will be the cut English language version, due to availability of materials. No Japanese track will be on the sets.

An uncut release with English subtitles is possible, since the complete series was already released uncut (with Japanese audio) in Italy and Japan. Unfortunately Right Stuf only seem interested in releasing the old edited English language version though.

Yippy.

Probably the only series I would buy the premium edition for.

I'm assuming it has to be, since their is generally only about $8 difference in price, when buying from TRSI between the Premium and Standard edition sets that include Blu-ray. (And about $14 difference fit DVD only sets)

Personally I love their premium editions and for only $8 more, I would much rather get a chipboard slip cover, Hardback art book and a lot more artwork in general, over just a single case with hopefully a booklet.

I've always wanted to get a NISA premium set. With Part 2 of this releasing in July, it makes an excellent cornerstone of my July Right Stuf order. I just hope it's solicited before part 1 ships. If not, there's some Yen Press books still to be announced for around then.

I would recommend you do that. It's also wonderfully animated and will look absolutely stunning on BD (but that's to be expected from PA Works...).

How could I forget. I've already got something to push the order back to June. That will be ample time to wait for part 2 to be solicited.

sweet, will definitely be getting this one.

I didn't like their size as well at first but i recently bought a bookcase which fits them. Now the only thing i don't like is how some have the anime title on the side and some don't.

My bookcase has enough depth that I can lay them on their side and it only pops out by about 1 or 2 cm. Since the titles are all written on the 'top' of the box I don't have any problems whatsoever.

So uh, Nisemonogatari is getting a BD release from AoA in late February for $119.98 if you preorder from TRSI. Seems like it won't include the character commentaries this time though...
They also announced an import BD Box for Oreimo, which will cost a hefty $279 from TRSI. Since it's an import though it should be the same as what they're selling on Amazon Japan, which on the current exchange rate should save you about $50.

will be pre-ordering both on Monday. Oreimo on Amazon Japan does have English subtitles does it?

Given it's being imported and sold via Rightstuf, yes.

Wouldn't Aniplex USA add subtitles to the commentaries? because the Japanese release don't usually have them, or would they leave them without?

Chances are they will be subbed, but for example the extras on the Fate/Zero sets weren't subbed so we can't be 100% sure until it's been clarified by AoA themselves.
