I had a similar problem, only it was my e-mail, so once I forgot my password (and with so damn many it didn't take long) I couldn't get a new one so I have a new account. Which is this one. Just glad I've not had any problems with e-mail since 2005.
Hunting through the membership list to attempt to find my old account, and of 1,659 pages of member names I'd be willing to bet at least half (if not more) have "0" posts, which makes me think "Spambot!"
Finally found my old account, which was created on the 14th of March in 04. Managed a grand total of 41 posts too.
Odd, I was certain I joined the madboards before I left school, not after. Maybe I was a serial lurker.

Go to University. Worked for me.

Wow, my login still works! And although I'm late by about 10 months, I can finally post here.
How is everyone? I popped back in because I was searching for what anime SBS was playing when I was just getting into it around the time Evangelion was first airing. (Doing a script for a youtube video.)
Nowadays I'm around a lot more on NeoGAF, hence my lack of posting.
Hope everyone is well. _________________ twitter.com/simonvalentine1

So umm...yeah. Hi all.
What a long, strange trip it's been. 10 years ago, I was making my account during my IT class in my final year of high school to see if I could get any information about an order that was taking a million years to arrive.
Fast forward to today, I still pop in every now and then, but certainly not the multiple-times-daily that I was doing at my peak involvement. In the intervening years, a lot of Life has happened, all interesting but not all good.
I could probably write for pages about all the stuff I want to, but I'll try to keep it brief. These days I mostly stuff about on Twitter, like a lot of the old-timers from here.
Finally, this one's for user KBZ. Thanks. Probably the less said the better in this arena, but suffice to say that coming up to see you for Animania 2008 was life-changing, and definitely for the better, no matter where it eventually ended up. _________________ Fight for love like a soldier. |

H-Hello? damn it's been awhile since I've dropped by here. Been quite a ride too, moved to Cairns, moved to northern NSW, moved back to Townsville, moved to Brisbane and just recently moved to the Gold Coast. Just a few job changes in between all that too. Even traded in the old faithful S3 and bought another audi.
Shame this place doesn't get the amount of traffic it once did.
10+ years huh? time does indeed fly. _________________ TEAM Initial D TEAM Berserk

So, I thought I'd poke my head in here..
Wow, such a trip down memory lane. I'm going to Supanova tomorrow for the first time in many years and I was remembering the Sydney Supanova from 2000 (I think) when a group of us met up. I was just a kid then, barely a teenager I remember meeting:
MattyChan!
Kermi
Hot4Vegeta
Stonemonkey
So many names elude me now.
So many years. Thank you Madboards, and the original DBZ boards that preceded.

So, nostalgia etc etc. You know what, I miss you guys, and I miss this place. I miss hanging out and talking nonsense, I miss the banter, I miss the strange mishaps. I miss it all. I joined this place when I was 13 and grew up with you guys and I can't shake that. It was formative, and as a lonely young lad it gave me solace to know that there was somewhere I could go and speak and listen and so on. I acted a fool a lot, and I'm sure if I were to go and look at some of my older posts I'd realise that I was perhaps more of a fool than even I could imagine, but it was a real fun ride.
I was never a "core" member of this forum but I always felt like I had a place. I spoke to many people online, and despite my social anxiety, made some interesting connections, even if some were quite brief.
Dunno, bit drunk, but yeah, misty eyed I guess. As a big boy (I joined at 13!) I've encountered a lot in my life and I no longer have the same space I had as a lad to go to and relax and forget. The modern world turns and all. Social media has killed the forum but I am so glad I experienced this one, and others, before the death knell.
Be interesting to see if anyone sees this though haha. Feel as though I'm speaking into the void and attempting to listen for an echo. We should have some method to get in touch again. I wouldn't run one but perhaps a Facebook group?
But anyway, I should go. Nice seeing that place. Cannot believe just how much I remember about you guys and your personalities and so on though! _________________ digtrioPortable - Twitter |

Don't worry I still lurk here
Come to think of it I hit 10 years a couple of months ago myself!
I frequented quite some time before actually signing up, and boy was that a total mess. I think I managed to butt heads with just about everyone on here back in the day. I even had my username changed just to disconnect myself from 12-year-old me once I turned 18
Bless the resilience of the old users here, I'm shocked I wasn't laughed out of the place in hindsight.
Sort of sad to see the place as it is today, but the internet is just a different place and that's just how it is. I'd like to think the community here helped shape me into a much more self-sufficient and more manageable person, haha.

It's good to see some others still keep this place lit and warm.
I think the likes of Jester and Stormo will be haunting this place for years, long after they're dead :p _________________ I am a 100% Belldandy fan and Ah! My Goddess Obsessor! |

I just found this place again, and surprised my login still worked, though I was warned about an unsecure connection so don't be surprised if I'm on the news as an abductee, found in an Eastern European basement in the middle of nowhere, a funny tattoo on my arm, a finger cut off and no knowledge of the past week.
Cannot help but shake the feeling that the death of forums is incredibly sad though. Social media doesn't have the same sort of resonance.
Also, reading my posts that I did, as a 28 year old man, and just the cringe is so good. I am now a well rounded, normal person but I encourage all to source out my older stuff. An ode to a time gone past. _________________ digtrioPortable - Twitter |

Just passed the ten year mark.
Visited Japan 20 times since then, met a few people who were voices or singers/musicians/music producers for anime, always have had a great time over there. |

It's kinda nice that they do that. Not as big as it was in its heyday but it's still fun to pop in every now and then.

Speedfreak. We all have. I still have to finish off those fan fics. Of the stresses of rl atm.
I enjoy hopping back on here. I still watch my anime and read my manga. Just not reportingit as much as before. _________________ Motorcycling - You don't need an excuse to ride, but you need an excuse not to ride.
