From: Red Cross Blood Service
A few weeks ago in a movie theatre in Melbourne a person sat on
something that was poking out of one of the seats. When she got up to
see what it was she found a needle sticking out of the
seat with a note attached saying "You have just been infected by
HIV".
The Disease control Centre in Melbourne reports many similar
incidents have occurred in many other Australian cities recently.
All tested needles are HIV Positive.
The Centre also reports that needles have been found in the cash
dispensers in ATMs. We ask everyone to use extreme caution when faced
with this kind of situation.
All public chairs/seats should be inspected with vigilance and
caution before use. 17 people have been tested positive in the
Western suburbs alone in the last 2 months!!! A careful visual
inspection should be enough.
In addition they ask that each of you pass this message along to all
members of your family and your friends of the potential danger.
We all have to be careful at public places! This is very important.
Just think about saving a life of someone even you don't know by
forwarding this message. Please, take a few seconds of your time to
pass it along.

Wow!. Was it just an email? If so, as you said it is probably not real.

Methinks this is what we call an "urban myth". You really think something like this wouldn't make the mainstream media?

Congratulations:

You have just participated in an exercise in wasting bandwidth.

These e-mails are distributed regularly (though this is a new one on me), usually in much the same manner as spam, in the hope that the mail will be fowarded and continue to propogate.

http://www.symantec.com/avcenter/hoax.html probably has it listed.

Perhaps now that this thread has been dealt with (by the second post), it could be LOCKED?

Did anyone actually bother to look at the snopes link I posted above?

Quote:

Claim: AIDS-infected blood is being injected into unsuspecting moviegoers and young people dancing in bars or at raves.

Status: False.

This is what a teacher told me years ago, students can go home from school if it is above 50 degrees in the shade.

All nothing but a fake story. If it was true, don't you think it would be all over the news by now?

I've heard of a story exactly like this coming out of Hong Kong. so i mean it's obviously a hoax
