I would probably have to go over these shows again just to make sure they are in the right order but
1. Code Geass Lelouch of the Rebellion: great voice actors, great story, great characters, great everything really
2. DeathNote: same as above just code geass drew me in slightly more and misa annoyed me lol
3. Black Cat: purely eve being in it, was a good series but wouldnt have loved it as much as i did if it wasnt for her, she made me come back to it time and time again just so i could see her *shifty eyes*
4. Shuffle!: Story i thought was great was funny, sad and just about everything else a good series needs
5. Lucky Star: just loved the characters so much =D

hehe i liked Kaede at the start of the series then later (last few eps) i started to dislike her, i loved asa and primula, i got rather sad during the middle of the series as well as the end. (sorry about being vague i dont know how to use spoiler tags? there should really be a thingo above ^ amungst all the other dealies.) overall i really loved the series and i think it would have been good to see ovas or something of how the ending would have been if he choose the other girls, but i doubt it would happen.

Oh sorry I missed this earlier. When I say that I just mean that I thought the voice actor (I don't know his name) went a bit overboard at times, however that is part of the character and on the whole I agree with you.

Also there's nothing wrong with Kiki's Delivery Service Razz!

Currently working on a new top 50 and there's going to be as many as 12 new titles in it. Should be up over the next couple of days. Just waiting on Grenadier and Strike Witches to show up and watch before I decide on the final composition.

I can say that Gundam 00, Wolf & Spice, Kaze no Stigma and Dominion Tank Police will be in there. Wink

My new top 50 which has seen some major shakeups in it this time.

Top 50

1. Heroic Age
1. Kaleido Star inc. New Wings
3. Haibanei Renmei
4. Project ARMS inc. Second Chapter
5. Black Lagoon inc. 2nd Barrage
6. Yu Yu Hakusho
7. Claymore
8. You're Under Arrest
9. Gundam SEED
10. Baccano
11. Vandread inc. 2nd Stage
12. Gundam 00
13. Kaze no Stigma
14. Gundam SEED Destiny
15. Yukikaze
16. Devil May Cry
17. Spice & Wolf
18. Gunslinger Girl inc Il Teatrino
19. Solty Rei
20. Blassreiter
21. Howl's Moving Castle
22. Ghost in the Shell - Stand Alone Complex inc 2nd Gig/Solid State Society
23. Gundam Wing
24. Pumpkin Scissors
25. STR.A.IN
26. The Wallflower
27. Karas
28. UFO Ultramaiden Valkyrie
29. Full Metal Panic inc. Fumoffu/The 2nd Raid
30. Dai Guard
31. Fafner
32. Boogiepop Phantom
33. The Legend of Black Heaven
34. Kiki's Delivery Service
35. Robotech
36. Zoids NC/CC
37. Moribito - Guardian of the Spirit
38. Appleseed inc. Ex-Machina
39. Rahxephon
40. Dual Parallel Trouble Adventure
41. The Irresponsible Captain Tylor
42. Gravion inc. Zwei
43. Midori Days
44. Last Exile
45. Dominion Tank Police inc NDTP
46. Black Blood Brothers
47. Sands of Destruction
48. Strait Jacket
49. Flag
50. Planetes

The most noticeable is that Project ARMS has moved from = No.1 to No.4 and that Heroic Age has taken its spot.

The reason for that is simply that I've rewatched the entire series too many times to count without getting bored despite the fact that Harai did the character designs. When I threw the idea up in my head about it being the new No.1 and dropping Project ARMS down a couple of spots, it felt right.

Haibane Renmei still keeps it's 3rd place, but if you'll look at my previous top 50 and this one, you'll notice the changes. Code Geass isn't in there since I haven't been bothered watching season 2, let alone watching disc 6 of the first season.

My favourite series are probably Ghost in the Shell: stand Alone Complex, followed by either Code Geass or Darker Than Black. Although, there are still many series which I have yet to watch, so no doubt there will be changes in this at some point.

Been over a year since I posted my last list, and seen so much new stuff that that list doesn't even cover it anymore so new list, this time top 25.

1. Code Geass Lelouch of the Rebellion R1
1. Code Geass Lelouch of the Rebellion R2
3. Clannad After Story
4. Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood
5. Gurren Lagann
6. Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya
7. Kanon
8. Evangelion 2.0
9. Full Metal Panic? Fumoffu
10. Fullmetal Alchemist
11. School Rumble
11. School Rumble 2nd Semester
13. Full Metal Panic! The Second Raid
14. Clannad
15. Death Note
16. Evangelion 1.0
17. Summer Wars
18. Neon Genesis Evangelion
19. Full Metal Panic!
20. Rah Xephon
21. Trigun
22. Lucky Star
23. Cowboy bebop
24. Orphen
25. The Wallflower

Code Geass is still at the top for now, still is great, even though I've watched it quite a bit.

the Full Metal Panics have dropped, simply watched them too many times now, although Fumoffu is still hilarious each time

Notable drops are Hell Girl, whom after rewatching, just kinda sucked compared to first viewing and Death Note from 7th, to 15th, while still great, the 2nd half really does lower it.

New Additions include Fullmetal Alchemists, which I have finally gotten around to viewing and Clannad and Kanon.

Ones i would of liked to include, but didn't cause I didn't want the list to go on forever are: Gundam 00, Higurashi no naku koro ni kai, Azumanga Daioh and Elfen lied.

My favorite has to be Ghost in the Shell. The first movie is the best, then the first series. After that, it's the second series and the second movie.

My second most enjoyed series is Haruhi, obviously.
After that it goes Azumanga Daioh, Gravitation, and Excel Saga.

You should be able to make your DVD player region free. Google your model no. with "region unlock".

I'll be doing a new top 50 once I watch Chrome Shelled Regios which is on its way from the US. I can definitely say however that season 1 of Gundam 00 won't be in the top 50. Season 2 may get in, but S1 will not.

I have to ask JESTER, your top 50, is that a mental list or do you keep track of it? Cause either way it sounds insane to have a top anything outside of a top 10 at least as far as i'm concerned :p

Anyway, last time I posted was July 2009, not a whole lot has changed.

1. Ah! My Goddess (nothing has changed much kekeke)
2. El Hazard: The Magnificent World
3. Kannagi (A new entry in recent times, back in 2009 i saw it, just really stuck with me)

Here's where things get tricky, i'll have to try and remember the shows as well but here they are in some kind of order

4. Kaleido Star (Probably the only definitive outside of top 3, seeing as Kannagi pushed it from the #3 spot)
5. Please Teacher (with Please twins getting an honorary equal 5th)
6. Read Or Die (TV & OVA)
7. Steel Angel Kurumi (season 1)
8. Kiddy Grade
9. Shining Tears X Wind
10. Mai HiME
11. You're Under Arrest (while one of my all time favourites, it's just one of those shows you can kick back and enjoy but never had any great impact on me, well as much as the others have)

Outside of a top 11, I have no clue but those are the series that have had the most impact on me, that I have completed. Granted that list is about 18 months old but I haven't had anything to challenge that list yet but I have been watching more anime in recent months so I may come across something yet that will make its way up there.

Both. Wink

I've hit 1459 dvd's with 300+ different titles not counting Chrome Shelled Regios at present. I think that as soon as you hit a major number of dvd's/titles, doing a top 10 doesn't do justice for some of the other titles that you love, but out of the top 10.

With the next top 50, I'll be looking at what I've bought since the last listed and whether they belong in it. I'll go by my gut instinct in where they'll go if they make it.

At least I'm keeping it to a top 50 like the Aria's than a top 100. Razz

I'd be hard-pressed to rank them in order but the top four would include Cardcaptor Sakura, Fruits Basket, SuperGALS! and X. Beyond that my other favourites include Angelic Layer, Fushigi Yugi, Neon Genesis Evangelion, Princess Nine, RahXephon, Saber Marionette J and Sailor Moon S.

Probably a few more that should be included above but I can't think of them all. Razz

How can you enjoy Texhnolyze?. I've found it the most depressing anime ever and I have Grave of the Fireflies which was the most depressing till I saw that series.

I can understand why Haibane Renmei is there though. Wink

(only about 4 months late)

I actually look forward to when you do your top 50 updats. As im always interested in whats on your list. Most the shows are the same type of shows i like.
So I usually find a few new shows i havent watched. Or sometime own and havent gotten around to watching it, motivating me to watch them sooner.

Yeh, I have been getting a little slack, but to be fair, there's been a lot of titles that have been coming over the last few months and Ride Back is due over the next few weeks, not to mention Kekkaishi.

I'll have a list up next week for what I have, then do another one once Rosario & Vampire, Ride Back, Guin Saga, Kekkaishi, Spice & Wolf season 2, Galaxy Express movies and Eden of the East movie 2 comes out. Those are titles that are potentially top 50 material.Wink Wink

As is, I'm still waiting on Marmalade Boy, IGPX and a couple of other titles to arrive hopefully this week.

Still working on the top 50. I can say that there is movement in the top 10 and several titles will be removed.

New titles that will be added will be Rideback (though I haven't seen it yet. The preview has me really excited.), Oh! Edo Rocket, Medabots, My Bride is a Mermaid, Eden of the East, Freedom and Heat Guy J. As you can tell, that will mean that a similar amount will be removed.

I'm going thru a list that hasn't been changed in over a year and the amount of titles that I've bought since then is causing me headaches in where they should go.

Still the names are up and now it's just the placement. There will be 1 title from the top 20 removed from the top 50. See if you can guess which one before I put the list up.Wink

50. Chrome Shelled Regios

Now for some explanation in regarding to the titles. I'm only doing this to help avoid people bugging me over my choices.Wink I won't be able to answer all in this post.

Rideback - I haven't seen this series yet, but the preview of it has me pratically drooling in anticipation. Once I've watched it, I'll decide where it'll go. 25th position is the middle point. It could go up or down.

Spice and Wolf - I've dropped it right out of the top 50 from 17th position. I feel that the main reason for dumping this is the fact that it has taken over 1 1/2 years for Funimation to release season 2 and now I'm bored with it. It may come back once season 2 comes out, but then again it might not.

Medabots - It's nowhere near as flashy as a lot of anime, but it sure is hilarious and easy to rewatch. The english VA's did a top job on this. It's in 14th place for that reason.

I didn't include some titles like Black Butler and Code Geass. Truth to tell, I haven't felt a need to go back and rewatch any of the eps for boh titles. They are in my opinion watch once and forget titles. That's just my view.

Hopefully people will get a kick out of this.

40->50 positions are pretty much on equal ground. I could've put them in different positions in that part, but I like it the way it is.

Titles no longer in the top 50:

Fafner
Pumpkin Scissors
STR.A.IN
Gravion
Flag
Sands of Destruction
Black Blood Brothers
Spice & Wolf
Boogiepop Phantom

Edit - I just removed Boogiepop Phantom from the 49th position so that I could put in Gundam 08th MS Team. A hard decision, but the 08th MS Team has bugging me since I put up the list and dropped Gundam 00.

If you've just read my post in the what you've just watched thread, then you'll know why I decided to do another top 50.

If you haven't read it, then do so. This top 50 is to remove Gundam 00 permanently from it and place IGPX in its place. I've also shifted Claymore from 15th to 25th, Medabots from 14th to 15th and Rideback from 25th to 14th.

I have some more titles due in, but they won't be considered till later this year.

I'm doing another one over the next day or so. It took me a while to find out what I've bought since the last one and on whether any of them deserve to be on the list. Also a couple of titles that have out of the top 50 are making a comeback. Wink

Just rewatching them got me enjoying them more than some others in the list. Wink

I decided to do a new one done though the last one was done a few days back. The reason for this is Broken Blade. I moved it from the mid 40's to 11th spot. All the other positions went down 1 spot till it got to the spot I placed BB in. I was tempted to place it higher than YUA, but I think this spot is good enough as it is.Wink

To understand my reasons for this, read my post in GA that I did only an hr or so ago. Wink

With the arrival of a good few dvd's over the next week or so, I'll be getting ready for a new top 50.

As it is, I'm going to have to find room for at least 3 series that I've watched recently, but there may be more when I watch the rest that are coming.

A big problem will be finding room to fit them in, which also means that at least 3 series will be kicked out. My head is aching from that thought.

I'll have a new list done in the next couple of weeks, but I'll wait till I watch the rest of Jormungand and hopefully The Devil is A Part-timer comes in.

It'll be interesting what 3 years does to a persons thoughts on a title.
