Hey everyone! Jeez Louise, I haven't been around these boards for a good 18 months. Anyway, I seem to remember Hyper C did exchange in Japan a while back and I was hoping to ask him a few questions about it, as I am considering it myself. Are you still here Hyp? Are you under a new name? Can someone point me in the right direction? Can someone stop me from asking all these questions? Wink
Thanks.

Hyper C quit his administration job quite some time ago, and slowly stopped coming here. So no, he's not really around. But hey, he could come back.

Oh ok. That's suprising. I don't suppose anyone has his email? Perhaps it is still on his profile....

I seem to recall Hype going to Japan, making some... shall we say poor choices when he was there and having to come back, and then basically abandoning the whole anime scene. I haven't seen him around in a very long time.

Hyper C does not come on here anymore. His email address, last I checked had the words "pretendbeard" in it.

I was in the bathroom with him once, at Comicfest 2002 (Bankstown). He hosted that cosplay competition.

He mumbled some crap to me and then left. Very Happy

XD @ pretendbeard. Ahh, the memories..

His email was pretendbeard@hotmail.com IIRC. I don't think it had any numbers in it.

If you want to talk to people about Japan, then Utheras can probably help you, he is/was doing the JET programme, either that or the Nova teaching exchange programme. There are also some other boardmembers who have been over there, like mrgazpacho, InGram, Mr Waffle... and there was also gomichild, but she doesn't visit us anymore. Sad

Wow... I haven't heard the name gomichild for ages. Last I heard she'd had some bad juju go down at her workplace and had been looking for a new job.

Hey TRC7 Very Happy Well, I do know that Hype is still alive, having run into him most unexpectedly at Supanova Sydney this year. (A photo!)

Hype's exchange was not too pleasant for him, which I think contributed to his leaving the Madboards. There was a thread of his somewhere around here... *does a quick search* Here's his goodbye thread... *reads that and sniffles/giggles about good times long gone*

Here're some of his details I still have, but I don't know if any of them are still recent.

ICQ: 103365798
Email: Pretendbeard@hotmail.com, madsmods@hotmail.com

Oh, and I too have been to Japan, albeit only for a month. Very Happy

Wow, TRC. I've never really experienced much virtual-nostalgia before.

Gomi rocked - she looked for some books and stuff when she was in Japan for me. And she was the originator of the uber-plug Very Happy

While Sauce and I have done an admiral job of following-up on said plugging, she was indeed uber at it.
