$12.90 is an awesome price. I'll definitely be picking up Fruits Basket (and maybe Love for Venus if I hear good things about it).

We are going to be consistant with the Chuang Yi release, hopefully to the point where we are releasing it almost the same time as them.

Atm it looks like we will be releasing V4-5 in March/April
We have a continuingly growing relationship with Chuang Yi so things are looking up.

Oh come on!!!!

Get the Guyver Manga for Christ sakes. I mean damn it may be ok for the people who have the money to spare to order directly from Chaung Yi, but what about the rest of us!

The Guyver is a great story, in Japan they're up to vol 22 for crying out loud, this isn't to mention that it spawned an OVA movie, a serise, a novel and two movies.

Why won't Madman get this manga in?

Definitely getting the FB manga. And yay for the new prices. Thank you madman. Smile

Zeptha - Firstly, don't assume Madman has said 'no' to the series, they probably haven't considered it in the first place.

I emailed someone at Madman when they first started releasing Manga, more specifically when I realized they were releasing Chuang Yi manga. And the response I got was, "We have no intentions at this time of releasing the said manga" but that was god only knows how long ago now.

I prefer Tokyopops version of FB, I don't really know why. I always have a preference towards Tokyopop, but in series such as .hack and X I've been content with FB.

Despite the obvious lower price, are there any other reasons why you went with Chuang Yi?

I love dust jackets... always have.

What are Chuang Yi's like sizewise (I mean physical size here)... - are they the size of the Japanese releases or the size of the TP ones??

It's still unflipped, unfortunately.

$12.90 is much closer to the kind of price ($10) I'd be willing to pay for manga, though. Now all MM needs to do is to start localising it properly, and I might actually read it.

I have... serious problems trying to read unflipped manga. It disagrees with the way I read English text.

So Stormo hates unfliped manga, as in manga kept like it was originally made in Japan?
Yet he only likes his anime kept as japanese as possible?

Sly, I think he means the size of the paper/books. Not the amount of chapters ^^;;

Comparing my Tokyopop manga to my Chuang Yi manga...

The Chuang Yi released manga is sightly ‘wider’ and ‘shorter’ then the Tokyopop released manga.

Indeed I did; (Thats why I wrote physical size) still I can see how my comment could be misinterpreted.

Still; Im now in a position to make my own comparasins Having one TP release, one CY release and 14 Japanese releases.

I prefer CY to TP; basically due to my love of dust jackets. But both versions are about 1cm taller than the Japanese edition; I'll never understand why they felt the need to make the pages bigger (unless someone chooses to enlighten me).

That and Im kinda biased against TP; thier Love Hina versions werent the best... I got sick of seeing parts of kana "not-quite-properley-erased" and in some cases even left in the speech bubble (was just a "Kyaa" tho)... actually the worst offence was simply leaving the text out of two bubbles... I suppose they just forgot about it. But still; thats kina shoddy for a company trying to sell me something.

The thickness is due to the type of paper used.

I went to the EB in Liverpool today and I saw the Furuba manga. I have to recommend the Tokyopop version of Furuba rather than the ChuangYi(?) version. Besides, the Tokyopop version is up to volume 7 or 8 at the moment and it's on sale at Kinokuniya, in Town Hall.
The Love for Venus looks good though Laughing I just didn't have enough money to buy it *sob*

So this growing relationship with Chuang Yi might mean Chuang Yi "Mahou Sensei Negima"? Man I'd buy that if it gets licensed. I'm getting tired of Del Ray's "Southern Master" crap...

Any chance of getting the rest of Pokémon Adventures/Special released over here? Viz only released the first six volumes (and I can't find any past 4!) and I believe they're up to Volume 19 in Japan...

And regarding flipped manga.... I actually find it just as easy, if not easier, to read manga right-to-left. Maybe it's because I'm left-handed so my brain works in reverse or something... ^_^;;; I find it easier to flip through the pages when it's right-to-left, anyway...

I second the vote pokemon releases.

For a while manga was all I read and when I was an american comic it was almost as awkward as the first time I had to read manga right to left

^^ yeah i agree...... The guyver needs 2 be released real soon... i want the anime and manga released but it seems like its gonna be a looong time since it gets released... its a shame tho
