fo' shiz. That's my next project though. Right now, I'm finally able to give my current car some love, have ordered new handbrake boot [mine is worn to threadbare like every other one I've ever seen] , series 2 spoiler [not as high as the one I have, mine has some dents and ****], stock grille [have some unsatisfactory mesh item that needs gagagoogoo off], stock R33 GT-R rims with new tyres.

Cool. You seem a man of taste, those spoilers look like arse. And bonnet scoops are only for top-mounted intercoolers, or anything else they look crap and redundant.

Thanks. Reminds me some guy in a van about to break down pulled over next to me one night and told me to sell my car and buy a commodore (wow originality lolz) because my car was girly. I stuck up for me car, it got pretty heated, he drove away cos he was a loser with a van.

Everyone P plater around here has a commodore or falcon, I like me car.

MY CAR IS NOT GIRLY >_<

Nice. R33 GTR rims are tough (I like my wheels better though Razz). Series 2 spoilers are also win. That was the first thing I did when I bought my car because the piddly little series 1 spoiler is homofaggaaaaaay. What kind do you have now if the S2 spoiler sits lower than that? PICS PLS LOL. Is your grille one of those shabby-ass wannabe GTR grilles? They don't really look the goods unless they're on the real deal with the R badge...

I got to worked and parked, my music was loud and was a girly song. I wasn't really paying attention, it was either that or ads. I turn it off, guy walks past and goes 'GO GIRLY!'

I was furious for my whole shift. It was 3rd day I'd had the excel, and was already emo about owning a chicks car. A white one at that.

did alittle mod to the car this weekend. i like little subtle mods Very Happy

got around to remove the big piece of ugly orange plastic that covers the clear light indicator in the bug-eye light assembly. then removed the clear light indicator (as it is illegal if it doesn't flash orange) and replaced it with silvervision light bulb indicators that from a distance look clear (close up they are silvery) which flash orange. i reckon it makes a big difference on the car and haven't been pulled over yet Mr. Green

now the whole light assembly is clear/chrome with phillips white light headlights (white light with a tinge of blue through it). know just gotta change the foggies which are still stock headlights.

The grille was this crap-tacular plastic frame with a sheet of aluminium mesh, that looked like arse, so I got the original, in perfect condition, and switched them over in the carpark.

The spoiler is of some indetirminate aftermarket origin, and is the same rounded shape as the low-lying series 1, but way higher. Not quite a WRX-style shopping trolley handle, but still too high and rounded.

Working on a digital camera, then pics. Meanwhile, bro is looking at S13's.

On ebay I saw the exact model of spoiler as I have advertised as being "Nismo" but I somehow doubt it.

Then again, on the weekend I saw goddamn huge Nismo decals on an NX coupe and a SSS Pulsar. Sometimes I wonder why I spent all that money on a skyline when I could have got a fully sick nismo spec Exa..... Confused

After shots are of better quality which might be influencing me, but for a small modification, there's a clear improvement. Looks awesome, and the finish on your car overall is amazing.

It'd be an FD. For nearly 36 grand it'd have to be one hell of an amazing FC or SA otherwise Razz

That makes a pretty decent looking improvement to the bug-eyes there, Dante.

It's uber-expensive for an FC, and dirt cheap for an FD. THat kind of power sounds like it might have a bit more than a custom exhaust and air prods going on Confused

dirt tracks are fun Twisted Evil but the cleaning afterwards isn't Confused

in other things, i had the chance to get behind the wheel of a xr6 recently. first impression was how light and well balanced the steering was for such a big car it is (felt huge for me compared to the wrx Razz )

so, im taking it for a spin around the block (it was a auto too) and we have quite abit of new houses and the like going up around us at the moment so there is usually patches of dirt on the road sometimes. i come up to a corner, not thinking and not thinking that im not in the wrx, and decided to give it abit on the corner. car goes around corner and hits a bit of dirt and the backend just kicks out on me Shocked i almost shat myself. i was just so shocked at how easy the backend did that. the wrx just would of lost traction in one wheel but that's about it.

moral of story, i'll stick to all wheel drives for alittle while yet me thinks Wink

sorry for the double post in advance!

car is in with the mechanics for a couple of days and i miss it already. Sad is there mainly to get fixed. been having a problem with the air flow meter which has cause the engine light go off. been driving around with it for about a month, annoyance factor more then anything. its not damaging to the car or anything but the mechanic has tried all sorts of things to fix it.

tried cleaning it, completely replacing it, took the car back to stock settings, took one of another car etc. with no luck. so he's going to send off the computer for someone else to have a look at it and while the car is there i decided to get some other work done. Twisted Evil

so im getting a front mount intercooler with custom ss plumbing and a cold air intake. with this and previous mods im hoping to get ~210 kw atw on the current boost (18 psi). hopefully he won't have to increase boost too much or at all. not sure how the stock internals would handle more boost. can't wait to get her back!!! Very Happy

I'm starting a new job soon, and I'm gonna have to work my way up before I start seeing decent money again, so it looks like my plans are on hold for a while Sad

it would be great if i can get that sort of power, but we'll see. if i do, i just got to be careful with the stock gearbox Shocked defintely don't want to be breaking that!

EDIT - this is going to be alittle wee bit more costly then i first expected Confused found out what was wrong with the air flow meter.....it was the actual computer that was at fault. apparently the circuit for the air flow meter heater filliment is buggered and chiptouque aren't confident with repairing it.

so there were two options. try and track down a oem computer for a 2001 wrx off of subaru or install a full autronic sm4 system. since any parts you buy off subaru end up costing an arm and a leg i decided to just get the autronic and be done with it. really cant wait to see the results now Shocked

Question is, despite the high insurance, the stereotype that comes from the fact Skylines are a pretty popular import and some people who drive them are Trevor which affects what other people think of the majority, can you really live without an easily available, quite affordable, reliable and built to last japanese import?

Chicks in Skylines are hot. Rarely seen, but possibly one of the best looking women I've ever seen got out of a silver R33 with the number plate "MRSGTR" (and it was) and I quite nearly ran off the road.

lol. Gender bias, much? Chicks should have as much right to drive Skylines as much as guys have a right to drive Mirages.

...despite how undeniably retarded a guy driving a Mirage is. Razz

Speaking of which, hot pink Mirages with ridiculous angular-ish kits, massive rims and even bigger wings should be illegal. I'm glad the one parked in my street this afternoon drove off. Those things are eyesores. :/

I realised that I've never seen a non-stripper type girl driving a skyline, and I'm very not stripper-ish material. Maybe I'll get a hot hatch. It's unisex.

Too girly.

I was thinking this; MR2

or This, CRX (Ignore the fact it's bright yellow);

I love my hondas, but.. Toyota is just as good.

i like the look of that CRX Very Happy and im liking the yellow too. the wheels are pretty nice too (probably a pain to clean though) but the car looks to be sitting too high and so the wheel arches almost look empty.

i always liked the newer body shapes of the mr2's (compared to the old boxy styling).

just my 2 cents Very Happy

It's unfortunate that the otherwise-funky CRX gets treated so poorly by ricers. As long as it doesn't have a cannon on the back, that's a very nice tidy little number there. Even the mesh is OK, because it matches the design. Some cars just look absolutely rediculous with mesh bodykits (especially the ones that have mesh at the back with two cannon exhausts poking through...).

As for MR2s... well, if it's an older model, make sure the front suspension is in good nick, otherwise you're probably gonna fly off the road thanks to snap oversteer. Other than that, they're cool little poser-sports cars. I think the biggest problem with MR2s is that certain drivers of them seem to think they're in Porsches Razz but for what they are, I like 'em. I guess their styling is love-or-hate...

I drove a Supra. Got bored.

For the just a tad more $ (going on a decent MR2 with low km) I can get a '01/'99 Rexy. Then I've got coolness and practicallity.

Dad directed me to this one, anyone for a Ford GT TT? Shocked
the awesome bit is that it still uses stock fuel delevery system and stock engine internals (boardband friendly)

finally got my car back (just got back from a 3 week holiday in and around syndey Very Happy ) but still needs a final tune. just running it in abit. feels go though.
