A few images have surfaced of the upcoming Cities of Gold series.
ANN article
The first of three 26-episode seasons begins airing in September in France. One can only hope that it gets an English dub with voices as close to the originals as possible.

It looks pretty good. It'll be interesting on seeing what happens next. However, I do feel that they've missed the boat in doing the sequal 20->30 years after the original series. At least with those of us who loved the original.

Yeah, ABC at 5pm Mon-Thur, early in 1987. The blurb on the DVD box says it aired in 1986, but I don't recall it airing then.

4:40 promo video of the new series has been posted at ANN.
Hellyeah! An Asian-flavoured version of the theme song at the end. And the voices, from what I heard, Mondoza was the least like the English voice; all the rest could have been the original English cast.
Mysterious Cities of Gold, now with added panda!
