not going this year. might tryfor Supanova later in the year, don't got the cash to attend waicon at present..

also trying to save up for a HT system, so i don't think i'll be buying alot of series this year since HT is going to set me between $4,200 to $7,000 pending on setup I get...

at some point I might spend 4k on a 60" tv not to sure yet..

so my life is going revolve around ht for atleast 12-18 month's so not much anime buying this year except for a few boxsets i want to buy which isn't much..

no nothing wrong with the old 1, i'm planning to upgrade to wide screen, as you get a restricted viewing on a 68 cm tv screen, especially when you have quite a few 16x9 presentations...

eventually i also plan to incorporate a projector into the mix though that will be a while in coming..

more stalls, more things to do, different selection of anime to watch... the quizs and AMVs were great but it needs to have more items and rare anime to watch rather than anime most people already own and have seen.

i even spoke with people there who left after 30minutes of being there because they were bored

I thought last years was better. there was more to do last year and the cosplay was much better. The only good thing about this year is that they made all the more popular events fit in so you can see them all.

yep there's alot i could suggest for waicon though what's the point, i already voiced my disappointment over the last event i went too and how poorly it was run...

the time for running waicon as a side show carny event needs to stop, same with other panic and associated gatherings..

start running it like a business, the halfarsed approach needs to stop...

i know everyone tries their best...

2007s wai-con wasn't that bad. However the murdoch wai-con was still the best ever held with less than 400 people attending over both days. It seems that as its become well known the amount of art and quality of art in the booths has degenerated.

yup job prospect are a pain at present, as everyone and his dog want 13-17 year old for what boils down to scab labor wages, if you happen to fall out of this category then life if tuff for work just to get your foot in the door...

Thats the way of life the bosses these days they dont want grad uni students comming out of uni or older people who have experience but wont get a job. How do they want a younger person with no experience at all and still in school but still say experince needed ?. The bosses dont want to pay experience and older people the full award wage so dont mind pay less for younger people they dont give us the chance any more to prove our selves.

such if life...

when you can pay $20 an hour for 4 people with no experience. opposed to 1 person between $18-28.50 an hour with the experience that can more without being a drone being shown what to do every 5 min....

which would you hire, personally i'd go for the experience all the time, though in a business sense the train of thought is to hire the weaker labor force, which will always be the students... all the time

it's a sad state of affairs isn't it...

proving oneself isn't the issue, it's the age factor of the applicant...

if you're above the age 18 or 21 in some cases the chances of you getting the job is slim to none... above the age of 45 you're a bigger health insurance risk to boot... if you ever go for compo make sure it's only a short stay there if possible over extending your welcome in that frame, will cause the the quickest job loss in history for you, even if you have been in the company for 20 years or more..

so what ever totem pole there is at your work place try and climb it as quick as possible, failure to do this could see you loose your job when you're above the age of 35...

it depends on what you plan on doing after you complete your studies. If you have no idea what you plan on doing usually something that lets you work in a team or with customers is best. Most companies are willing to take you on if you aren't after money which I assume is what you're after for school.

Are many of you guys on the panic or supanova forums? I'm not reading through 54 pages to find out if you guys are in the know or not, but Panic/Independant parties (Ie, bored people like myself) occasionally have events, and every sunday a group of people chill out in the city together, if anyone's interested in meeting creepy people from the interwebs.
