I just found these today!
I was roaming around at my local EB and saw a vaguely familiar logo in amongst the card stand. On closer inspection, I relised that it was from the FMA Trading Cards Booster pack. "Blah, blah, blah..." I bought a starter deck (Alphonse)

Theres 5 different starter decks so far. 50 cards in the starter deck etc. The game is simple (not really...) and the cards look good! It's an official Funimation licensed product.

I wonder if anyone else has bought them yet?

For more info look here at the Official Site

I saw these, but chose to avoid them like the plague. After my brief but expensive time with MTG I decided I would never play a CCG again, ever.

I stopped buying CCGs NOT made by Wizards of the Coast since I bought the Dragon Ball Z CCG and it was utter sh*t.

A FMA CCG huh?

Well i haven't played a ccg game since Magic which was quite some time ago and this one just seems like a way to milk more money out of the fma franchise. I think i'll pass.

I sort-of collect Pokémon cards, but only for the pretty pictures. ^_^;

Not sure if I'll go for the FmA ones. Are the pictures all just screenshots? Or are there original pics as well?

I've decided never to buy a CCG game again. I usually get the starter pack, look at the cards once, put them away, and never get them out again. So I won't be getting this either!

Pokemon Cards were GOD like back in the day - it was like a religion to me. I remember how badly I took advantage of kids in year 1 and Kindergarten (I was in year 4 at the time) by using the ever so popular Pikachu card to my advantage in trading for holographics.

I remember the sheer excitement in going into EB and buying a booster pack and opening up to see a nice shiny rare holographic looking back at me (which was not always the case, the disappointment was vast since there wasn't always a holo).

I remember I traded a Blastoise for a Charizard and then I traded 3 crappy cards for my Blastoise back so now I had a Blastoise and a Charizard for the cost of 3 crappy card ^__^.

I still have them somewhere...

Although, my interest faded after the first series of cards - I had almost everyone I think.

Most TCG's are no fun in bendigo. Theres only 2 that a handful really play....'Magic:the gathering' and (for the kids) 'Yu-Gi-Oh.' All the rest you're hard pressed to find someone else who's into the same series. I brought .Hack//Enemy last year in Melbourne and the only time i've played it since is the same day (manifest) when i learnt how to play it. Sadly enough the hobby shops in bendigo never got it in, so i never got to get into it.

It would be good if the FMA cards came to EB games in bendigo, though....would be nice to collect.

I bought a couple of starters, too.

As TCGs go, this one's pretty simple to learn and play. It didn't really impress me though. The cards look like LotR cards and the game play just lacks the depth of many other games.

If you want to play TCGs, go with Magic. Only even think about anime related games as a collectors project.

tho $10 says that now with the release of all the new expansions and themes, that deck will be ripped to shreds.

and these are in all EB's, or is it just in special ones that decide to get them in? Confused

They won't lose a chance to make money Very Happy

I was at the manga shop one time with my friend, cobizah, and it was really funny. We were having a duel for the sake of it (i lost all -what was it- three times?) and then this guy came and watched us and he was helping cobi -__-. Anyway, my point, i had long since obanded the game, though this guy wanted my holografic monster reborn and don alog, or what ever that card's name was, and he traded me like 100 cards just for two shiny cards, he was like in a trance.

I had the guy from the manga shop, Derick, try to make me buy the FMA cards, he gave me some to look at, they were all like screen shot ones, hmm, maybe some day when i'm richer i'll buy a pack of the FMA cards and the .hack// cards too. I'v seen them in the shop. Though my latest item i'v been wanting is a Fruits Basket jurnal, so shiney. Haha, it's like the only thing you can see on the front desk, every other part of the counter is covered with all the stuff they haven't got a home from yet. The shop, Pulsar Max, just relocated across the road after renevations were done to its original building. Good thing it had a propper sign this time, nice and big, reconised it instantly xD.

I bought all 4 yugioh decks.....$120 down the drain. I still play with Pura/my bros sometimes though. I whoop! Go the Kaiba deck. My pokemon cards are rotting away somewhere...Magic cards were just cards eh? Was there a tv series or anything? My brothers loved those cards...they're in my cupboards somewhere...

If I was going to buy a card set, I'd really only get it for the sake of colledting stuff about one series, but I still probably won't buy these. Not without winning the Lotto first...several times.

I got a starter and 2 boosters and then convinced a friend to buy a starter deck. We sat down to play using both the instructions and the online tutorial and they confused the hell out of us.

Has anyone figured out how to play this properly yet? I think it would be easier to learn from someone else as the rule book and tutorial leave many unanswered questions.

I've also got pokemon cards (with base set charizard and charizard ex from the fire red leaf green set) and yu-gi-oh cards (necrofear fiend deck, outdated but the game has become to driving on spending money to keep your deck up to date so I couldnt be bothered with it)
