It's been three weeks, and I still can't find volume 10. *splodes*

I haven't been able to find it either, not that I've looked very hard...

Frustration like that is exactly why I take so long to start a series. I'm only up to number 4 for FMA and 6 for Fruits Basket, but I can walk into almost any shop that sells manga and pick up the next one I want (though I'll be special-ordering volume 12 ltd ed. to make sure I get my hands on one.)

I've still to see a copy of volume 10 in stores anywhere...

Chapter 72 is awesome. I want to know exactly what Marcoh was planning...obviously half of chapter 73 will be a flashback with a witty explanation of why Winry is in the hands of Scar...I can't wait an entire month for it though...*sniff*

All up to date on the Madman releases now - I picked up 9-11 at AVCon. Yay cheap manga! ....I'm going to have to rearrange my bookshelf when 12 comes out, because I've run out of space. >_<

And I've been keeping up with the latest chapters too! I'm up to 72 now, waiting for 73. Scar's getting closer to redemption, yay! And Winry is sheer awesome. ^__^

I declare Chapter 75 to be one of the greatest chapters in FMA history.

Crucial flashbacks and shocking revelations for the win!

It's interesting how, even though the plot and details are completely different, the anime and manga still mirror each other. The destruction of Xerxes is not unlike Lior in the anime.

Forgive me if I'm wrong, though, but wasn't Envy made when Xerxes was destroyed? I recall that being revealed in volume 13 when they're inside Gluttony's false-Gate...
So Father is a Homonculus, Hohenheim is the Philosopher's Stone, where do Pride and Envy, the first two (I think) Homonculous come in?
And finally, we see a bit of Izumi. YAY IZUMI!

Um maybe Father took some of the Xerxes people and turned them into Envy. I think what they said was Envy is formed out of the people of Xerxes not Envy was made when Xerxes was destroyed.

Has anyone else read chapter 76 yet?

Gyaaaaah! ED! and AL! ;____;

But OMG episode 50 ending parallel, anyone? Though it will be very interesting to see how Ed gets healed in this case...

*foams at mouth*

Just read it...

I ish scared...could this be the end of the whole series? Or just a point where Ed realises what can happen if he doesn't man up and kill Kimblee quickly? OR could it be that this is where, since, if they're both 'dying' I would assume Ed and Al would meet outside the gate, they get Al's body back (maybe Ed's arm and leg?) but they still have to solve the Father crisis?

When Ed goes "No...no way!" and the blood goes "SQUISH" I thought 'crap, he's lost another limb!' at first...

Maybe Ed will have to heal himself using the Philosopher's Stone that got knocked out of Kimbley's hand?
Things are certainly getting more exciting now.

It got knocked out of his hand? I mustn't have been paying much attention...

Still haven't found volumes 13 or 14 anywhere. I'm getting annoyed.

Chapter 82 was pretty sweet.

Can't you order them in?

Also, the sketch book that came with volume 14 was pretty awesome. Better than the last vol 0 thing at least.

Got 14 today. Nice. I'd heard about Hawkeye's tattoo previously. And she's straight from the shower... Pity there are only 4 chapters per volume. It makes the wait annoying.

Real Spoiler Don't read it unless you really can't wait! (from Vol.15)

Hawkeye's Dad was Roy's mentor and creator of Flame Alchemy, he tattooed the secrets of it to Hawkeye's back to pass it on if he dies (which he did) then she asked Roy to burn it so no one else could ever be hurt by it after Ishbal.

I kinda hope there's some other explanation for it too. Having the climax of volume 14 answered quickly into volume 15 isn't all that intriguing.
But I guess that's just wishful thinking Razz

V15 is still not on the coming soon page
I suppose thats a good thing for me though seen as though i cant really afford much at the moment with Uni life and such
iv got the first two volumes from viz media (US versions) with the holographic covers and characters on the spine
the rest are in the version madman released it in with the cover protector and bonus art
which version do other people prefer?
i would like it if the madman versions had character art on the cover protectors
and the spine is a bit of a giveaway as well because you know who is going to die in this edition

That's why you don't look at it until after you've read it.

FINALLY got volumes 13 and 14 yesterday. A new Borders opened up somewhere and having EVERYTHING in stock, very happy now.

Volume 18's cover is better. (Just don't go looking for it or meet some serious spoilers, people.)

Rumour is that it'll be a 100-chapter manga, and we just got chapter 92 so... possibly ending in October?

Thanks. I seemed to recall (or I may have hallucinated it), way back near when it first came out here, that it would be 22 volumes. 100 chapters would be just a few more than that. Cool.

Reading Wikipedia, the furthest the plotting goes is ch. 87, and it looks like things are heading towards a climax. Not much more, then.

Things do seem to be heating up at this point but I don't think it can be finished in 8 chapters. It would seem too abrupt for an ending.

As nobody has posted in this thread for a while I was hoping someone might have an answer to this query.
The CY edition of Volume 19 is available as of July, does anyone have any further knowledge of how many volumes it will end up being?
I have ordered all 19 volumes in my next anime/manga order and was curious as to how many more I will need to wait for.

There are currently 22 volumes out in Japan. Not sure when it is going to end, so could be any ammount. Though, i doubt it will be too much longer.

Thanks, I had heard that the 22nd volume was going to be the last one but I didn't think that was correct.
I hope we don't have to wait too long for 20,21 and 22 (and the remaining ? volumes) over here. If V19 is being released in July through Madman how long is it normally between volumes (ie, roughly when should I start looking to expect V20)?

Guess it all depends on CY translation schedule, just look at the gap between previous releases (on the CY site) and that should give you a good idea. Also, considering how the manga is currently going, i don't think it will go for much longer.

The manga is currently up to Chapter 96 (due out in a few days) and seems to be heading for the climax. So that's 24 volumes so far.

On a side note, I don't know if anyone else noticed (/cares) but i couldn't stop thinking about the change in texture of the last manga (V18) while i was reading it haha

I got the 19 volumes of the CY edition of the manga in the post the other day, I am loving the new Brotherhood series as well but can't make up my mind as to whether to start the manga now or wait until it is finished and read it all in one go Confused
Also with this delivery I got 4 of the 5 FMA light novels that have been translated into English, I am unfortunately still waiting for V1 as that is on backorder, as soon as that arrives I will be reading these.
Has anyone read the light novels? What did you think of them?
Along with the manga I received a bit of a bonus from the shop too, the 2009 FMA calendar which has some awesome artwork in it. (not in this picture, the other book is the Haruhi novel)

I'd at least start reading the manga up to where the anime is at (which now is about halfway through volume 10, there's a bit of shuffling going around right now).

Personally though, I'd read the whole thing. Things get really really interesting around volume 16.

Have taken your advice, started them on the weekend and have just got to the end of V10 this morning, am very much into the story now so will continue with them and will just have to be patient I guess as to when the manga is finished and available to read in English.

So I'm now on V19 and saw on the Madman site that V20 is due to arrive near the end of October. I'm not that big of a manga reader, I only own a couple of other series and lots of V1's but I have not been able to put this down since I started it on the weekend just passed. Finding out what to expect in the Brotherhood anime has been awesome.

With boxsets of manga being released: eg Fruits Basket & Chrno Crusade, what is the likelihood/chance that when the final volume is eventually released here that it might be available with a box to house the entire series?

To those who have read up to volume 100...

With what seems like the death of Hawkeye, I am now left wondering if I have have missed something. I don't remember the manga actually explaining what the story behind her tattoo, her father's alchemy or Mustang's true link to the family/alchemy.
Any thoughts?

I wish I had my manga with me. Then I'd be able to go back and reread it.
