#1 nina voice was lame as many people agree #2 the whole episode was pointless and sickening and (major late series spoiler warning)
i thought i was a little weird for alphonse to become the sorcerer's stone what did u all think and what do u think was lame

Edit by RocketJess: Added spoiler tags and extra warning. Please remember to always use spoiler tags in your posts, and for such a major spoiler it's considerate to let others know that, or they might think it's something less important.

I think you should put spoiler tags into your post! And when you say "Nina's voice was bad" are you talking about the dubbed version or the original? And the episode did have a point, and that was the lengths that desperate humans can go to as well as the dark side of science. Also factor in Edward's realisation that being an alchemist does not make him a god.

Uh, no you can't.

Mods?

Now, to save this topic: there were major major inconsistencies throughout - tiny little things that would be overlooked if you weren't a deconstructionist freak like I am.

Example: the blood seal is what keeps Al linked to the armour, and he can't get it wet. Yet he falls into water at least twice in the earlier episodes.

Homonculi can't use alchemy. So then what was the deal with the birds when Envy was in Cornello's form?

Having said that, I think the series did a lot of things right. For example, the fact that equivalent exchange is a load of twoddle was simultaniously awesome and shocking. It all made sense - "well of COURSE the secret ingridient is human lives, it's what we're channelling from the other world after all!", and everyone gives a collective "Ahhh, got it!". Very well done.

me personally i don't like to point out all of the little insignificant bits i like to sit down and enjoy watching the series.

i think alchemist is one of the best anime made, it has a deep storyline and deep characters, it is extremelly well done in my opinion.

and yes the nina episode did have a point, basically every episode has a point....of course some people may not be able to spot these points due to a lack of education - but thats a subject for a different time.

basically all of the points FireAza brang up were all valid, ed discovered how alchemy could be used for 'evil' and gave him something to think about as he had accepted them as his 2nd family in a way only to have the incident in action take place.

also i don't know if you have just read spoilers or whatever but point's from that episode are brought up again in dvd 6. perhaps you should open you mind more to some of the deeper and darker concepts in FMA.

.....but thats just my opinion.

But, I find all the english voices lame and annoying.. But.. thats just me.. I hate almost all english voices in anime, especially after watching it in Japenese, where it actually sounds.. good..Most of the time..

On the subject of voices, I can't stand Gluttony's Japanese one for some reason. It's like fencing wire scratching around in the tray of the ute, makes me grind my teeth.

Well technically Envy can't remember his true form, when he was male. So he took on that "cute" form and that "cute" voice.

His "original" body in the manga is just plain weird, probably why they've made him 'forget' it for the anime, though it may make an appearence later, I dunno.

Yeah.. It's kinda hard to justify his gender in the manga..

"Thing". "It".

i suppose the reason why envy can't remember his true form is because aren't the homunculi like hundreds of years old? and in that time he has probably shifted forms so many times that he chose the form that we see now as his new true form

His alchemy is good.. Fire..xD
But he is.. to me.. annoying. The miniskirts and the reason why he likes dogs has been the only parts I slightly liked him.

My friend likes him though. So another friend and I sent a valentines from Roy to her. It had lots of things about fire and such on it.. It was hilariously sappy. We added "do you like dogs?" at the end Wink and drew flames around the hearts..

hey, roy's not that bad. there are some really funny bits where he can be insensitive eg: the mini skirt, then there are other parts that you see the more sensitive side to him, or darker, whichever you prefer

remember that episode when the guy brought in that puppy? it was the episode that al tried to sneak in the kitten as well OSmile . well this guy couldn't keep him as he wasn't a state alchemist, he was trying to get one of them to keep him, well, roy went a little nuts :-s and this little guy ended up having to save the pup from being loved to death. then riza took him.
anyway, it wasn't really explained Question *after big explination*

It was in the Fullmetal vs Flame episode. The guy that found the puppy couldn't keep him because he lived in the military's dorms, and they're not allowed to have pets. He was trying to get one of the others to take it because some of them, like Havoc and Riza have their own accomodation.

And as mentioned Roy went a little nuts over it. (singsong voice: Loyal canine, how we adore thee!)

Silly dub version. Razz The reason why Roy likes dogs is because they're very loyal, no matter how you treat them. No wonder this man made Colonel Razz

Yeh, of course were talking about dogs

Hahahah.. Nevermind.

I found the part where Rick (is it? I cant remember -_-) almost gets stabbed with the.. sharp thing (cant remember what it is, either. Only seen that DVd once Wink.. ) and then it turns out the necklace protected him, and their mother was blind and blah blah blah. Too heartwarming and predictable.

..I wish they'd had more about Klause's sister..

Floating smilleeeeyyy!

The sharp thing was a throwing knife. Yes it was predictable but its the only way Al's argument with Ed could end; with them remembering their promise that they remembered because of the kids mom.

Oh, yes, that reminds me, I found Al lame.

"Mm-hmm" "Mm-hmm".

Even though he thought Ed had implanted his memories he still called Ed "Brother" all the time..>.>

Yeah, I'm too cautious with spoilers. Just because I love reading them, doesnt mean everyone else does, though I do so enjoy wrecking the story for people Wink
