It would be good if I could actually listen to it without it causing my Winamp player to constantly crash. WMP doesn't recognise the file type either. And no, I don't - and will not- use iTunes either.

Why is it encoded in m4a anyway? Why not mp3 so it is more easily accepted by the many different players out there?

This is an enhanced podcast, as such it has images and links embeded into the file, most players with .m4a support should be able to play it.

Entered the Fuits Basket hat comp right away. Don't know why, now. I live 400+ kms away from Sydney, and I don't think there's anyone else in town who's an anime fan, as opposed to people who just watch anime, without caring.

Laughing Oh well. Maybe it's just that I'm a 'collector'.

Listened to it through Real Player, the pictures don't seem to be coming up, even though it downloaded components so the file could play.

VLC works a treat except when i try to surf the perverbial web the images overly on the webpages and make for an annoying experiance though nothing a little minimising won't fix. Though i'm still trying to get use to the whole Podcast/new generation audio thing.

Looking forward to future installments.

Nicely done. One complaint i have though is, the volume is a little low. I had my ipod on max volume and on the train it was very hard to hear what was being said sometimes.

I'm liking it.

The pronounciations of some of the Japanese words are pretty lacking though. And seeing as the Japanese pronounciation is so easy, why don't they just say the word properly (i.e. "Mai Hime", "Totoro", "manga")? Anyone else find this annoying?

Oh god yes. That's why I came into this thread.

Guys, seriously...you're all fantastic. But if your'e going to specialise in Japanese culture products, learn how to say their names properly.

Aside from that, though - very slick. I look forward to more in the future!

It was alright, although it went for too long and was really content free in places.

My only real gripe... the segment where they focused on Beast Wars was the biggest waste. This series has already had a dvd release here in Australia and is going on 10 years old. There are newer, more interesting series (read as Gankutsuou) being released which segments like this should be used to focus on.

Come on, just get over the transformers thing already. 0% content.

The rest was pretty good.

Sorry guys but I have to dis this show.

The most important element for a podcast like this is not just information. It needs to be entertaining too and the two main guys speaking are a bit boring and arent the uber anime geeks that should host a show like this. And where is the sexy japanese chick??? Come on.

Sack the guys hosting it. Sorry hosting guys but you don't seem to be geeky enough for this job.

THAT is very much so incorrect.
Beast Wars at the time of it's release primarily seasons 1 and 2 came out on VHS tapes under Siren.
Alliance Atlantis DID release season 3 on DVD I know because I have them.
So I don't consider it to be a waste especially if you knew how much of a transformers fanbase there is that admires and appreciates this great series.
If you don't I recommend checking out this link.
www.theyareamongus.com.au

The site is practically sponsored by Madman so to ignore that is either arrogant or ignorant of a big part of the Madman community.

From what I heard of the snacktime wasn't bad, tended to go up and down volume wise at times, not bad a little informative, handy to have.

I'm arrogant, not ignorant. But I'm right. Very Happy

That website belongs in the realm of the fat, nerdy, glasses wearing type of comic book geek (you know the ones. Those that argue about whether Superman or Batman would win) that is the source of public disregard/disrespect of those of us who enjoy worthwhile animation and graphic novels.

Get over the transformers fad. It passed 15 years ago and is only maintained by sad individuals trying to recreate the only happy experience of their lonely tormented childhoods.

Don't get me wrong, I loved transformers when I was a kid too, but I'm able to maintain an objective eye when watching the shows I grew up on. And guess what? Many of them are terrible, transformers/beastwars included.

Nobody cares anymore. Move on to decent animation.

Generation One and Beast Wars ARE reguarded as one of the best sets of series PERIOD ever since the Transformers started.
Beast Wars and Generation One have a nice long story line wich goes together, good toys, good shows with good acting and animation unlike some of the more recent anime versions of it NOW those are bad.
And sterotyping Transformer Fans is a BAD move, a VERY BAD move.
You obviously have no idea, if Transformers has been around for 20 years and Gundam for nearly 30, then it's highly doubtful it's going to die off anytime soon just because you think people should 'get over it'
Point is there are decent toys, the origional show and toy still sell, even the new generation does the same thing.

There are bad parts I admit though.

I've been a Japanese music/new-school (with the exception of Eva - and thats only 10 years old) anime fan for ages. But I was actually inspired by the podcast and went out and bought the Beast Wars box set yesterday. o_o;

I remember that it was awesome watching it when it was on TV. I was in like grade 4 or something O.o

Agreed. I think the Dr. Tan segment has a lot of potential, but please elaborate a bit on the news tidbits next time.

Other than that, I think it's a really fun little show, and I'm looking forward to the next installments. Also, I'm already quite fond of the presenters; they're already quite good considering this is the first episode, and I have every faith they'll get even better with time. Very Happy

I meant in reguards to how big the fanbase is towards these series and thus why I said it is foolish to tell people to get over it, whilst a lot of people old and new alike enjoy these series.
It is another reason why they are considered classics.

My point is don't go knocking on the Transformers fan base to start something, it wont get ya anywhere.

Thanks for all the great feedback guys.

Keep it comin'

April episode is being recorded tomorrow, so it should be online soon after.

We got some sweet stuff ready to go for this ep, but I don't want to ruin any surprises just yet.

Thanks for listening!

Oh, and we have a myspace page also at www.myspace.com/animesnacktime so feel free to drop by there any time too!
