I am a pretty big fan of Lupin and I am wondering why there is only one DVD of Lupin with the Castle of Cagliostro. I am aware of other Lupin films which Manga Video has relesed previously but what about the TV series? Will it ever be released on DVD along with the other movies? Oldies like Speed Racer and Battle of the Planets have been released, can it go the same way with Lupin III

Hey there Riven. Be sure to introduce yourself (Always wanted to say that)

I have a friend that uses the name Riveneye, freaky coincidence.

I have read about the TV series too. I think there is a thread where you can ask about this sort of thing.

It be great to have it on DVD, I agree.

Three things:
1. Unfortunately a VHS licence doesn't always mean that Madman has or is able to get a DVD licence. (They sometimes have different licensors in the US)
2. Speed Racer and BoTP were released by Siren Visual, not Madman.
3. Follow jinsenblade's advice and head over to the Introduce Yourself forum.

Pioneer have the TV series and FUNimation have the OVA's/Movies

Madman have good relations with them so hopefully you will see them in the future.

++OFF TOPIC++

I can't help think the welcome forum is kind of pointless, just like welcome forums on other BBs. I mean you make post and introduce yourself and the other people just post a welcome banner. All it really does is have other people see your user name. Maybe I'm just a horrible cynic but it just seems a little contrived, to me. I mean people see a new thread, stick up their welcome banner and just get it over with. I'm not saying they aren't glad to have new members, it just seems a little forced. I'm probably wrong though.

It may be the same thing for older members, but for new members it makes them feel welcome and hopefully they'll hang around and participate. How many actual active members are there that participate regulary? Hopefully making people welcome will keep them comming back.

As well as the Intro forum is a good place to post any old rubbish that wouldn't be on-topic in the other forums.

The Welcome images are a fad, and like most fads they shall pass, it's only been the thing to do for a month or two... but couldn't you have thought of a better place to post the above, like in the Intro forum for one thing? The Introduce Yourself forum allows the members to get acquainted with each other, as well as allowing them somewhere to have discussions that aren't necessarily related to anime (within reason), so it's not a pointless forum. Spammy yes, pointless no.

I could have put it in the Welcome forum but it relates to something said here and wasn't really worth it's own thread.

Look. This is Riven's thread. Can everybody quit with the 'introducing' already and listen to the man.

I too am I big, BIG fan of the great Lupin III and I long to see more of his crazy adventures. I hope Madman releases Goodbye Lady Liberty, The Fuma Conspiracy, The Gold of Babylon etc.
