Hey for anyone interested,

Just listening to a few of Ayaka Hirahara's songs and man does she have a beautiful voice!

I'd suggest the following songs for anyone interested:
Chikai
Jupiter
Kimi to Iru Jikan no Naka De
Eternally
Hajimari no Kaze
Aries no Hoshi
VOICE
Will
Tsubasa wo Kudasai

I am fast becoming quite a fan of this woman. Her vocal range is for lack of a better word - enviable.

So Far she has put out 3 albums and all of them are - in my humble opinion - amazing.

I've heard that name before. What style of music? Ballads? Bubblegum pop? Emo-death-thrash-noise-metal?

I'd say definitely ballads.

Edit: Hajimari no Kaze is actually being used as the opening theme of the new anime series "Saiunkoku Monogatari"

I believe she's the one who sung the official theme song for the dismal Japanese winter olympics team (or something like that).

They played it everywhere when I was in Japan during the winter olympics in Italy.

Chikai is quite a nice song... so much so that I bought her single just because of that song.

Reviving an old thread, I have liked the following by Ayaka Hirahara:

Jupiter (both Japanese and English versions)
Smetana's Moldau
Dvorak's New World
theme from Saiunkoku Monogatari "Hajimari no kaze"
with Joe Hisaishi - One Summer Day and the other tune from Spirited Away.
