Followed the link from Penny Arcade a few weeks ago, he's brilliant. The Heavenly Sword one is still my favourite.

I'm guessing he doesn't like the "new" Tomb Raider game? His story of Lara on the ledge reminded me of when I was 15 and playing the original "Prince Of Persia" on a then-old Apple IIe at high school (1994)

I love his Psychonauts review, no other person has accurately attempted to explain why this game is so awesome. Plus it has the line "a shady government agent who disguises himself as a housewife by brandishing a rolling pin and talking disjointedly about pies". And in an example of full circle, the guy who played said government agent also played Spike in the English dub of Cowboy Bebop Very Happy

Thats not a full circle, no one was talking about Cowboy Bebop, thats just plain old trivia, cool trivia none the less but not a circle.

By "full circle" I'm talking about the fact that The Madboards are mostly animed-related Razz

Holy crap, that's Ben Croshaw. I used to talk with him a lot over on the Home of the Underdogs message boards.

He's a funny guy. He's written a few adventure games, too, which are brilliant. But when I last spoke to him he was still in the UK; had no idea he was in Australia.

No, I haven't. I hear they're interesting exercises in game design, though.

The games involving Trilby were adventure games that I could actually be bothered playing. They're fun. And laced with Croshaw's quirky humour. Recommended.

Damn. I'm at work where none of the computers have any speakers, so I have to wait till I get home.

Not... that I'd be slacking off and watching videos at work or anything. *cough*

I love the quick little images that flash up to accompany the words he's speaking, my two favourites is when he says "cheap laughs" and a clown with a "50% off" label attached to it appears, and the other is when he says "game that lets you set squirrels on fire" an image of a squirrel on fire saying "aw nuts" appears Very Happy

That review actually made me quite interested in it, actually. I fall into that little crossover he talks about. Though I'm planning to hold out for WAR... still can't decide between Orks and Chaos.

I'd only heard passing tidbits about Tabula Rasa and was interested in it only until I found out it was an MMORPG.

IMHO one of his best so far.

The fact that I enjoyed it without knowing anything about the game series makes it good.

Interestingly, the towers he describes as a "doom fortress" actually exist.

And they are pretty damn awesome too, 3.5 meter thick walls, and some could hold 15, 000 people. The Russians couldn't make a dent in them when they got to Berlin so they just went around them and waited till they ran out of food.

I think this is the first Yahtzee video where I haven't really felt compelled to laugh out loud. It felt a little rushed (even by Zero Punctuation standards), like he wasn't really into it this week.

I think in this case it would have been better if I'd played the game. the only Zelda game I've ever finished was Links Awakening on the Gameboy.

I dunno. The only Zelda game I've really seriously played is A Link to the Past on the SNES, and I still got a kick out of this week's ZP.

To be honest, he's 100% correct about Phourglass. Constantly returning that that godsdamn retarded first dungeon kills the game. If it didn't have that, it would be several thousand times more awesome than it is.

One thing he's wrong about is that the Zelda series should make a radical change for the next one. I'm not sure why, but the Zelda series seem to be able to get away with being pretty much the same thing each time, hell, that's what we expect.

There's only so many times you can remake Ocarina of Time before people will get bored with the formula, though.
