Ok,
So I haven't bought much anime for quite a while and now that I have the disposable income to spend I want FMA. Now, I've noticed that sometimes volume 1 of a series is released with a box, then once all the dvds are out that box is rereleased with all the dvds. Will this be happening with FMA? Cos I'm having a REALLY hard time finding the first tin in any region (and the second region 4).
Alternativley, anyone know of some good places to try in Perth? Damn me and my lack of money up until now Sad

Thanks
Morien

the reason why you can't find the first tin anywhere is because it is sold out everywhere, as for tin 2 just ask your local JB HI FI if they can search there database for other stores that might have left over stock.

it is all here

Madman have stated a few times that they'll be useing a new Chipboard box as backageing for the Collection though it's still unknown (i think) how they plan to release the collection due the lengthyness of the series.

I read somewhere that the "first" complete collection was to be released around the same time the last volume is due. I don't remember where though, so it could just be heresay. But if it's true they may be planning on releasing it in three boxes like people have been buying the tins (well, the lucky few anyway)

Mono, if you want the first tin your best bet is to try and import from the US. You'd be astronomically lucky to find an R4 one (and end up ong Gir's "Most Wanted" hit list.... Wink )

Hmmm...
I wonder how long it'll take for all the dvds to come out and a box set to be released...
If only they'd put them all in a tin box like tje one shown at http://www.fullmetal-alchemist.com/anime.php

Oh well, I'll keep my eyes peeled. Thanks for the replies

...I really have to get someone to sticky this information Mad

Madman will be releasing FMA in two collections.
The first collection contains 6 volumes and will be released either in January to coincide with the movie, or soon afterwards.
As for the second collection, well, I wouldn't be having you hopes up for a release until close to 2008.

As for costs, well, I wouldn't be suprised at $120 for the first and $140 for the second, going by madman's usual pricing of such collections

All artbox's with the exclusion of crappy cardboard ones and ones like FMA are chipboard.

Yeah, many people think that. But I've heard a thousand times somehting about "If they had backup collector's tins wouldn't it be easier to sell them now?" or something like that.
Besides, you couldn't fit the CD in the tin like that...

It could be but he would need to come all the way to Geelong. Even then there is a chance that it might be gone.
