I was going to say "no rock groups", as I don't wanna mosh with Australians. I much prefer Japanese girls in moshpits, since they can't do any permanent damage Razz. But then, the only people who know jrock groups here are fangirls anyway, so I say... D'espairsRay. They were totally awesome, I wanna see them again. Or maybe 12012 or Gazette, as I was never able to see them due to other things popping up.

Since I'm a selfish jerk I don't want to share my idol groups with other Australians. <3

Group? X Japan. Maybe Malice Mizer, during the Gackt era.

Non-Group? Ayu, Gackt or Yaida Hitomi.

I don't care that they're standard responses.

I can't choose one!

Group: dir en grey, Malice Mizer, Ayabie, 12012, D'espairsRay, The Candy Spooky Theater

Non-Group: Ayumi Hamasaki!!!!!!!!111111111111111

*also hits Gouki* Klaha-malice mizer was better Razz

Also did anyone hear that D'espairsRay are doing a concert in the UK? That might mean Australia is neeeext!

Maaya Sakamoto in a series of intimate, all-acoustic club gigs, accompanied by Yoko Kanno on piano.

Noo! Beast of Blood can never be beat by stupid Gackt. Razz Although I do like some of the songs off mervellius, like ILLUMINATI, le ciel and s-consious.

Malice Mizer are the best, I love Mana's swaying when playing guitar XD its the best. And the many mimes of instruments in their videos, I love how they dont even bother making it look sincere XD.

YES! Also. Mai Yamane, in a similar situation.

Man. I just saw ILLUMINATI live and the PV for the first time. Awesome. Awesome. Awesome. And strangely erotic.

I though High and Mighty Color's last album was a bit of a letdown, a few of the songs just sounded the same, Ichirin no Hana was an awesome song though. I remember liking the first 3 songs but that was about it.

But they'd be awesome live.

Band? I would love to see Antic Cafe tour Australia. They're cute and I love 'em. They'd be so hilarious to see live; their concerts are really upbeat, quirky and fun, just like them. Miku writes some great lyrics.

I'd also like to see MoMusu in Australia, because everybody loves them ~<3

I don't really like them. Too indie, not enough screaming and being like D'espairsRay. Razz

I rememberd ELLEGARDEN too, I'd love to see them live. They've been to the US, maybe they'll come here. They could be big here as pretty much half of their songs are completly in English, and the singer has damn good pronounciation. Very Happy

Do As Infinity.... 'cept they're not together Sad.

In that case, ZONE! Very Happy ....'cept they're not together either!

Dir en Grey would be pretty awesome, as would seeing Hyde, L`Arc or pretty much any other J-band I guess.

Morning Musume ftw.

EDIT - Okay, if your 'strong rumour' is Kaoru saying he wanted to tour Australia - that's not much of a strong rumour.

Even though I'm not a huge fan, I'd go to see them if they came here. After all, if their concerts went well, it might encourage other Japanese bands to tour here! Very Happy

Yes, I also have read the Kaoru interview and I don't post statements on that kinda basis. I was going through a friends death metal mags recently and in two of them they mentioned that Diru were tipped to make their way down here later this year. Diru are making quite a name for themselves in the death/hard metal scene.

Dir en grey... death metal? hahaha.

Their last album was pretty heavy, yeah, but dir en grey couldn't even come close to heavy metal. I'd say they're still hard rock/metal band, and that's as far as it goes. I've seen them labelled hardcore because of all the screaming, but nah.

But anyway, it would be too awesome if they came down, but if they go anywhere I think it might be Brisbane as they have a high Japanese population and more likely to sell out a venue.

Yeah, I would'nt call them death metal either, maybe it's because of the image they present? All off the sub-genre etc labeling bs that's bandied around in music is getting out of hand I reckon. But they certainly are "harder" now.

Thanks to Stormwolf I was able to listen to some (watched a Garnet PV).

I was totally creeped out Razz

Not going to watch anymore PVs but the music is better than Diru so I'll start listening to them...
