If you are in Newcastle (NSW)
there is a good little shop called graphic action in hunter street
They sell Manga and comics as well as anime and random merch
everything is the same price as listed on this website. I have even seen some things that are "sold out" on this site ^^
The guy who works there/owns it is very helpful and will order stuff in if he can get it.
you can even buy shonen jump magazine Very Happy !
And the amount of Manga o.o so much that I didn't even know existed!

Was in my local Leading Edge music today and noticed that they were selling anime boxsets, i asked how much cheaper and they seemed to be about $10-$15 cheaper than retail price (going by RRP and instore price of Bleach boxset as the dude scanned it as they were all behind the counter)

So yeah, if you have a Leading Edge music in your locality i suggest checking them out.

I live in Airlie Beach, North Queensland. When it comes to anime and trying to acquire it, you generally can bet your bottom dollar that Leading Edge up here will help you find it, however don't hold your breathe for decent prices! The numb nutts that runs the joint up prices everything he sells I mean alot. He still has the boxset of Berserk for sale the new fatpack for $120 or more, when you can clearly see on MadmanAU the price has been upsized for $50!!!
Everywhere else round here doesn't sell or have much to do with anime so he really is unchallenged price wise however if I go to Townsville which is a 3hr drive north I can get everything cheaper and here on time, or even closer Mackay 1.5hr south however the only real store that sells anime in quantity is WOW sight snd sound. Wondering if there is anyone that can direct me to more reliable outlets in either area's?

Shin Tokyo is in Adelaide, but their website is www.shintokyo.com.au

They will do orders vial email for anywhere in Australia, but you will need to know what you want before you email them.. (Use the Madman website to look for what you want) Not sure what they charge for postage, but I think it's Australia Post standard charges..

Much appreciated, however I can get products shipped from Townsville for reasonable prices however I was chasing for stores other than WOW and Leading Edge in Mackay, Queensland. Not really interested in inter-state. Sorry but thanx for the info. If I ever do decide to move to South Aus I'll keep your advise in mind.

If you live in Brisbane there are a couple of stores around. In the city there is Borders (of course) and also Daily PLanet Comics & Games. It's diagonally accross from Borders in the Hoyt's Regent Building. It has a really good selection of Manga. There is another store... It's up a really long flight of stairs and it has an ok selection of Manga and anime DVD's.

Also, if you're in the Western suburb area (or can get to Indooroopilly easily) There is a new store there called Zombster, I haven't been in myself, but it looks pretty good. You can also order online here http://zombster.com.au/

Also, does anyone know where I can find Cyborg009 Volume 2? Episodes 26 onward?

I found a site called www.animewild.com that has a variety of merch for most of the anime out today so you might be in luck if you try.

the gold coast has waited quite a while for an anime dedicated store, and they finally have one! Anime Shuuken!

They're brand new, well a couple of months old now, and are still getting on their feet, but are getting more and more merch as the months go by. you should check them out on facebook, and their website:

The Ezydvd store that was at Fountaingate in SE Melb is now a Gametraders and they have a decent sized section for anime as well as manga compared to some of the other Gametrader stores I've seen. Bit on the steep side pricewise though.

I buy stuff from them.

Anyone in Canberra need a shop? Try Impact Comics next to Mind Games in Civic.

It's funny though, because they seem to have a standardised pricing system, which occasionally means you get things cheaper than even JB (eg Death Note boxset $100).

I checked every item and it was all RRP or in a lot of cases, higher. Good to see them stocking a range but when you can easily get 10 - 20% off RRP buying elsewhere I don't see how they can sustain keeping the shelf space they have allocated.

Perhaps it's different down where you are, considering it is a franchise organisation. But yes, I should point out that things do often cost the same or slightly more than Madman pricing.

Wouldn't be just as easy to import it from the US. With the dollar as it is, it'll work out cheaper, I would have thought. DVDPriceSearch shows Walmart has the cheapest price.. (without shipping costs) http://www.dvdpricesearch.com/cgi-bin/dvdcalc2?cmd=calc&tmpCart=106362

Can't believe this hasn't been mentioned yet, for Sydneysiders, Anime at Abbotsford.

It looks like a very comprehensive merchandise store.

Had a quick look. It's just a merch store, isn't it? No DVDs?

For people who buy their figures online, prices are much better direct from Japan. And I noticed they only had one of the Alter K-On! figures after going looking.

I think I'll pass on this.

Or just physically inspect the item and then order online. And it's got to be more fun window shopping at a physical store instead of online pictures..

Stores are mentioned, but direct links would be nice. Google is my friend but still all that comes up are education pages.

I want that Madman Macross DVD box that is now OOP.

Has anyone had anything to do with a store/website Alternate Worlds www.alternateworlds.com.au
I'm considering buying something from them that I saw at AVCon, but didn't have the money for at the time. Thanks in advance for any advice yes or no.

Might want to take borders off the list seeing as all the Aussie stores have gone, and even the stores in the US are starting their final liquidation sales.

My local Leading Edge retailer, http://www.blackwoodsound.com.au is also happy to order in Madman titles, and have also been helpful in ordering in music by Hiromi Uehara and Ryuichi Sakamoto.

Local retailer stopped doing music and videos back in April Sad

Any idea where to start looking for an out-of-print item like the Fafner collection?
