I found the Vic Mignonga interview difficult to follow. Were the interviewers not miked? Vic was clear, but whoever was asking the questions could barely be heard, which made determining what was being asked difficult.
Overall, another great episode, the longest so far. _________________ Nullus Anxietas |

Due to the expense of setting up a recording booth (I am making a basic assumption that MM set up its own recording studio), there's probably a mic in the middle and all of the people sit around a table or something talking and hoping that the mic'll pick the sound up. Using a basic dynamic mic (the cheapest kind) with the gain cranked doesn't guarantee that all of the people'll come through at the same volume due to the normalisation process (taking the highest point of the wave and making it 0dB). In this case, Vic, who is a pro at using recording equipment, was probably nice and close, setting a good example of exactly how to use a microphone properly, and everyone else was just sitting back. That would be my hypothesis. Am I right?
Yes, I do take MIS at school. |
