Depending on it's popularity, it's possible another company will pick it up and finish it. There's no certaincies, but knowing ADV, they'll pounce on half of Geneon's stuff.

Nothing's really certain till the end of the year. From what's been said, they're gonna wait till the end of the year before announcing what's going to happen. It's just that after the middle of next month, no new titles will be released to the end of the year at the very least.

Something may happen during the next 2 months with some including myself hoping the Geneon may restart operations next year.

I and my sister are collecting Karin as well as other titles by them, so we do have large stakes in the matter.

They should have just finished releasing all current series then folded.

Things are not final, so let's cross our fingers, knock on wood and sacrifice a rapist, murderer or pedophile for things to change for the better.

Karin's back up on the dvdpacific website with vol 4 due out next month. It was down until moments ago as discontinued when you clicked the page, but now it's up as pre-order. Vol 5 is also due out in October. My sister will be very happy that she'll be able to get the rest of the series

All of Geneon's titles that were being released before their disappearance are currently being shown as discontinued, but should soon switch over to pre-order as well.

What's this series like anyway?
Because I'm curious to buy it myself.

If you really want to enjoy Karin ... read the manga. If you have been watching the series and enjoyed it then I heartily recommend you pick up the manga if you can.

Get the good sauce. (Even if Tokyopop did rename it to Chibi Vampire .... good lord)

It's very cute, just your typical reverse-vampire love story.

Karin is a cute little girl who also happens to be a vampire... with a twist. Once a month, she experiences intense bleeding from her nose - we're talking gushers! In other words, she's a vamp with blood to spare, so rather than stealing blood from humans she actually gives her blood to them. If done right, this can be an extremely positive experience that benefits the "victim" as much as the vampire. The problem is that Karin never seems to do things right!
I quoted this of the manga version which is called Chibi Vampire. The lead male is Kenta and like his mother, is burdened with misfortune. Kenta finds out she's a vampire and is then forced to keep it a secret due to her parents and his sympathy for her plight.

It's a romantic comedy with rivers of nose bleeds and the anime version has a good deal more fanservice than the manga. The manga is up to vol 9 and vol 10 is due out next month. There's also 5 Chibi Vampire novels currently out as well.

It's a fun series that both my sister and I love. She's down next month and may be down after vol 10 comes out, which will mean 3 vols of reading to do straight away. Very Happy

It has fanservice in it?
Not that I'm complaining but isn't Karen like...10 years old or something? She just looks young based on images I've seen.

Generally, yeah. (First year high school, for the linguistically impaired. Translates to Year 10, for those unfamiliar with Japan's school system.)
