Dreamworks the company best known for bringing us 2007's epic TRANSFORMERS movie will now helm the production for a live action 3D adaptation of Masamune Shirow's Ghost in the Shell.

You can pick your jaw off the ground now. Avi Arad best known for Spider Man and X-men will lead the production team and co-founder Steven Spielberg has been quoted to say that "Ghost in the Shell is one of my favourite stories. It's a genre that has arrived, and we enthusiastically welcome it to DreamWorks."

There is no set release date for the film, but we will report more as news comes to hand. In the mean time check out Madman's range of GHOST IN THE SHELL DVDs.

You never know; the producers have the real power in this industry.
If Spielberg wants a talking donkey, then he's gonna get a talking donkey Wink

Every action has an equal consequence… he wouldn’t dare. Wink

I wouldn't put anything past 'old man Spielberg'.

Be thankful he hasn't got into the crossover genre; that'd be really scary Wink

'Rocky vs. Jaws' anyone. Laughing (Be afraid; be very afraid)
