I'd actually prefer fatpacks here. The cover art (for Bleach) doesn't interest me much, and there are no physical extras. I'd rather have the (currently non-existent) shelf space for other things.

Naruto is being released in fatpacks now 'cause that's what ViZ are doing in the States. I'm unsure as to whether they're doing the same for BLEACH or not though. If they aren't, then you'd have to wait until the collections (once released) are sold out before they get fatpacked.

On a side note, the covers on BLEACH are pretty awesome and this is one of the few series I'd rather having an artbox over a fatpack for. A compromise would be to include inserts with the cover designs (like mini posters) *wink*wink**nudge*nudge*

I would prefer the fatpack considering how large the bleach series is and it would take longer to release all the volumes one at time and would cost alot more in the long run.

As per usual long lasting series it will eventually go to fat packs I reckon. It may just be a while before anyone says anything. Very Happy

For Bleach tv, I would say depending on how far the yank's have dubbed the english side of things depends on how many episodes we get, Since this series is still being aired in Japan as we speak it's hard to know what the final episode count will be..

at last count there is 173 episodes of this ongoing series, not sure where the dvd release is at present the current release Schedule list's 13 dvd's which only covers the 1st 65 episodes of the tv series..

I can't see us here getting fatpacks until we see the finish of the single release and the multiples of boxset release, so we have a while to wait for a fatpack release...

I would just hate to collect half of the bleach series, and then learn that they will only be in fatpacks from then on. I must have consistency with my collections. Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

I feel the same way.. I don't want to buy the boxset yet because I don't want that to happen. I feel sorry for all the Naruto fellas.

Also in the stats aren't they doing that digipak thing? Just like the El-Hazard OVA. I would rather a fatpack than a digipak.

Those digipacks don't protect the DVDs as well as a fatpack

Rather than create a new one i'll use this thread as it's semi-related

Is there a particular reason why there is only 5 dvds (20 eps) per box. Are the seasons done in 20 episode blocks? cause i would of thought they'd be the regular 24-26 kind

They are divided by story arcs which happens to be on the 5 or so discs.

Ah well that makes sense then, 1 box per arc.

Err... you're talking about Naruto, right? Cause Bleach is nowhere near the fatpack stage, though I kinda wish it was as I can't decide whether I should start collecting the boxsets or not. I don't want to commit to the boxsets, only to have to switch to fatpacks at some point like with Naruto.
