Nargun, your post is too articulate for me to follow, can you please dumb it down a bit.

"I understand what you're saying, I just think it's silly".

There's no more Inu-yasha coming; stories end.

See, what makes inuyasha a good example of what it is is that the characters have motivations, they have reasons for what they're doing. But as you tell the story, those motivations play out, stop motivating the character. And then...

It's like a coal mine, I guess; you can keep chasing new seams, but eventually all the coal's been dug up. At that point you can start seeing if there's any silver or cobalt you can dig up instead [turn it into a different sort of show, a jane austin comedy-of-manners or something], or you can start a new mine [move to different characters], or you can dig up sandstone and call it coal [turn to fail and become boring].

So. You could have more inuyasha, but it'd only have the shell of the show, the surface fittings, a bloke what wears a red suit and white hair and [strike]lives at the north pole[/strike] has fox ears. But that's not what you're reading for, you're reading for the story of the man and his brother seeking for the approval of their father or whatever... and that story's done, now. Told, finished with.

But not all of the manga has been made into an anime. I just want the rest of the manga made into an anime so there aren't so many open ended questions left unanswered. Then we truly can put the series to rest.

OR you could just read the manga.

On second thought...that might just make sense.

You're assuming (hoping?) of course that the quality remains on par to what's available.

...I rather doubt it.

I have to agree with that, but I also have to agree that the previous quality of the show isn't garanteed

In 2004, Inuyasha was the most googled word in Canada. That could be helpful.

InuYasha helped kindle my interest in anime a few years back. This is a series I enjoy viewing with my young nephew and neice. I think it's run about 50 episodes too long but I understand episodes are being produced that will finally end the story so I'm looking forward to that. I intend to complete the DVD collection.

I just checked wikipedia, so the new series it will pick up from when Inuyasha left off till the story ends? will it adapt everything and not skip anything? cuz I don't know how far the anime went (never finished it, stupid CN only aired up till the demon horse) and 26 eps seems awfully specific and short for a long running series/manga

From what I've seen it's pretty condensed...and it's not being told in the right order. They're smushing all kinds of plot points together. It's still mostly coherent, though. But the flow of some episodes is just...odd.

@Birrirra
I take you've read all the manga. If so, how closely, in an overall sense, does the anime follow the original work?

Um...it doesn't...at least not with everything. Some things happen in reverse order...or two seperate plot points are brought together.

For instance in the manga, Kagura dies in chapter 374...and Sesshoumaru looses Toukijin while fighting Mouryoumaru in chapter 408...in the anime he's battling Mouryoumaru alone (in the manga the gang's all there) and senses Kagura dying (a petal drifting on the wind lands on the broken Toukijin) and he goes to her.

The story still makes sense...but it's not presented in the same way at all.

Thanks. I didn't ge to see your example before the moderator blacked it out but I get the idea. I just checked Madman's manga list for InuYasha and found none so I assume someone else publishes the manga. I see from Wikipedia there's 56 volumes so probably a fair bit has been left out of the anime.

actually they're called spoiler tags and you can do them yourself...they used to have a button that you could press to do that, but now you have to type it in yourself >_<

So a spoiler tag is when someone - anyone, blacks out a comment considered to be a spoiler?

highlight the black area and you can read the text, it's to prevent accidental reading of spoilers

Dagnabit - I never knew that! Here I was thinking the moderators were on the ball censoring the posts. The Madman forums are the only ones I usually post on and I've doing it about a year now. I feel very ignorant. Thanks for enlightening me to the fact.

@Birrirra
I've now read your spoiler: Haven't seen all epsodes yet but will keep it in mind.
