I taped A Current Affair so that I wouldn't miss out on the Shona - Farmer Wants a Husband story. 26, an 18 month old kid and a total babe will have a lot of guys trying to find a way to her place near Darwin. Wink

Now how do I get up there. Wink

Finally had enough free time to watch Batman Begins on Blu-ray all the way through. Then afterward, I watched opening six miuntes of The Dark Knight, which is an extra on the BD, which only made me wish that December would hurry up so I can get that on BD. Smile

Scrubs season 7 is a true return to form. But then I never developed the seething hatred for five and six that others did, even if six was a bit average.

I always wonder why people hated season 6. It was 5 that felt a bit boring, but six was a lot better.
Season 7 comes to DVD here early December, actually. Wierd that it will only be 11 or so episodes.

See I loved season 5 purely because of My Lunch (I cried), and My Fallen Idol. It did have other great episodes, though.

Terminator 2 on Blu-ray. I knew this film was grainy, due to Cameron's choice of film, but damn!

Just bought the entire collection of Monty Python's Flying Circus. I haven't had a good laugh at classic British humour in far too long.

"Burglar."
"What do you want?"
"I want to come inside and steal a few things ma'am."
"I think you're an Encyclopędia Salesman."

With my Japanese mate I have been recently watching through Gokusen. Previous to this I had been watching through GTO with a different friend. With my girlfriend I've been laughing at some classic Rowan Atkinson in Black Addar.

Watching stuff with friends is fun. <3

EDIT: After four years it seems I've finally reached 100 posts. Awesome.

I watched episode 1 of the new Knight Rider series. It seems okay. I didn't see the movie. However, given what I've read about it, should I bother?

I know there is a thread on DTV forums about new channels but nothing has been confirmed, at least on there, though i'll have to check.

I haven't seen the ad yet, what channels has it been showing on?

Both the first season have some terribly avergae moments (as do Angel, and Farscape). Buffy hugely benifits from being only 12 episodes long, but definitely stick with the X-Files. If it hasn't grabbed you by some abductions mid-season 2, then it might not be for you.

i wanna know why i'm gettin ads for this show on channel 9, on FOX8.

also: the ads i've been seeing relate to 111, they've got "stars" from other aussie programs, talking about programs they liked from the 90s era, and they've only been seen on FOX8 to my knowledge, i've only got the basic package at home, so theres not much to actually watch besides that, so i can't confirm anything else.

1/11/08 it goes live, i'm guessing. since that date is shown, then it turns into the 111 logo.

Watched Music & Lyrics last night as well as Border Security and the cop show after it.

Music & Lyrics was pretty good. Not a major fan of Hugh Grant, but he was good in the movie.

I've heard it's TV Land. Remember how Fox Classics used to play classics and now it's got all these recent shows on it? In America, TV Land started out like a 24 hour Nick-At-Nite (if you know what that is) and now it's like Fox Classics without the movies

Not long. I think it came out this month as I've never seen it on the shelves before. I got mine from JB-Hifi Mac Carthur Square today. My sister also bought Kaleido Star New Wings for $30 there after I told her about it. Wink

She can't pinch my R1's now.Very Happy

Extending on my previous mention of the Drew Carey Show now being out on DVD I finally had a bit of a closer look at it today ... and found the Madman logo was attached!

I had no idea Madman had the rights to this show, that's fantastic (and funny that this is the forum where I first raise it). Interested now in seeing what other live-action shows Madman might have for any other gems.

Watched the 2nd and 3rd discs of Ice Road Truckers season 1 and really enjoyed it. I was on the edge of my seat towards the end and the extras on the 3rd disc were really interesting.

Iron Man was really good and I wouldn't be suprised if at least 1 sequal was done. Testing the boosters at 10% and he backflips into the wall. Very Happy

The post credit sequence (you did watch after the credits didn't you?) in both Iron Man and the latest Hulk movie tie into the Avengers movie's that they have planned.

Nope. Didn't watch the credits or anything afterwards.

Mad Anime Fan. For the most part in a good length of time, going to the movies is classed as an added expense that I could do without. Same reason I disconnected my mobile phone 2 years back and haven't been bothered getting it reconnected.

Watched Wipeout again on friday night, but stupid Channel 9 placed the last 5 minutes of Hole in the Wall over the last 5 minutes of Wipeout.

After waiting and waiting for Madman/Eastern Eye to release some more daikaiju films, namely the Gamera films, I kinda gave up and bought Toshiba's 2001 Japanese DVDs of the 1960's - 1970's series of films (already have the R2 box set of the 1990's films) from Yahoo! Auctions Japan via a deputy agent. Like the 1990's box set, all of the films have English subtitles, except the 1980 film, Revenge of the Stock Footage, uh I mean "Super Monster Gamera".

So I got my package last night and started from the first film "Gamera the Invincible". Great little film, although probably not on par with what Toho was doing with Godzilla. Most of the model work was fairly good, and even the plot was quite good. The acting from the Japanese actors was mostly good, but the few gaijin actors were mostly pretty shoddy. I reckon the kid who loves turtles in this film has aspergers, but that's probably just me. I love how these old films where really shot for the big screen and uses the widescreen format to it's full advantage. The cinematography is quite exceptional. Everything is framed quite well, even if everything else is a bit cheap at times.

Watched Freddy vs Jason last night.
I still love that movie and Freddy Kreuger is funny as hell to watch wether toying with Jason Vorhees, fighting him or trying to kill some teenager.

Watched the rest of the Gamera films up to "Zigra" Two things of note; first, in the 1960's there were two main ways of monsters appearing. One was via a remote jungle island filled with natives who looked suspiciously like Japanese people in black make-up, or via evil space aliens, who oddly enough were mostly female, Japanese and human in appearance. Second was the blatant product placement in the final two films, one for Expo 70 in Osaka and the other for some sea park.

Out the lot, "Gurion" was the crappest in terms of overall quality (script, sets, SFX, acting), but I really enjoyed it. "Viras", which was the only one of this lot I hadn't seen previously, was well made as such, but if you take away all of the stock footage, you barely have a 65 min movie. That made it the worst out of this lot. Also was the first to have a lot of gaijin "talent", most of whom weren't talented or could barely act. "Barugon" also seemed a sluggish movie too. But "Gyaos" has always been a favourite.

I was going to watch the 1980 movie "Super Monster Gamera", but only skimmed through it, as for some reason it's the only movie in the set not to have optional English subtitles. It only got a rare English dubbed broadcast on US TV, so I'd never seen this one before. It's pretty shoddy with three female alien super heroes helping Gamera fight off stock footage monsters. The special effects look like cheap video effects matted onto film. Then there's this weird dream sequence that the "hero" kid has where Gamera meets the Yamato (AKA Argo from Star Blazers), which again is just a blue screen of Gamera matted onto actual Yamato animation. Freaking odd. What's that all about? I might watch the whole thing on Tuesday night.

Tomorrow I'll go to the cinema to see "Burn After Reading".

Last night I watched the first Harry Potter movie on Blu-ray. I don't know what Warner Bros. was thinking when they imported the US version for Australia, the result being the Australian version of Philosopher's Stone is actually Sorcerer's Stone. They didn't even relabel the disc. I even noticed the absence of a scene that I don't recall "needing" localisation for America.

'Queen of the Damned' is on at the moment. Why bother making movies about books when all they do is change it beyond recognition? Confused
