The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor.
Not all that good. Still fun, but they should stop now.

Watched the Transformers movie. Always get a kick out seeing Mojo pee on Ironhide and his reaction to it. Very Happy

And now the new Transformers movie has already started production. Can hardly wait to see how it turns out.

Anyone realise the new season of Heroes started last night?

I don't really watch Ch 7 and only stumbled across it on the online TV guide ... did they advertise is much? Or is it too destined for a 10pm slot?

I saw a few ads for it, but not many, then again I rarely watch TV, unless there's something I want to watch on,
so on that score I'm not too reliable a witness. Wink (and I haven't looked at a TV guide for a while)

And yes it probably is destined for the late night 'scrap heap', unfortunately Sad

Look at most TV series that go on for more than one or two seasons,
that don't have HUGE public appeal or provide substantial funding for the station (advertising / producers),
they are slowly relegated to time slots further from prime time and eventually they end up doing repeats between 11am and 1pm.

Presumably they're gonna ramp up advertising for season three, which starts after the Olympics. I wouldn't think they'd be planning to relegate it to late night if they're planning to fast track it.

Idiotic fast tracking Seven broke for Christmas non-ratings, then burned by the writer's strike, were left with two episodes of season two left unaired. Good thing the Seasons 1 and 2 Blu-rays are out in a bit over a month.

As I said, Christmas non-ratings. Misnomer, as ratings are still compiled, just not used to set advertising rates.

Volume 3 "Villains" (a.k.a season 3 storyline) began at the end of last night's double header.

Ahhh ... thx. Damn scheduling ... and this is the channel that figures giving us Battle of the Choirs was worth prime-time Sunday nights instead of this???

Finally got around to watch Jumper after I bought a few weeks back. It was sitting on the table since I bought it and kept on putting off watching it.

It was pretty entertaining, though it does scream out "sequal" at the end. It's only a matter of time for a 2nd movie to come out.

Been watching the first season of Weeds over the last few days, reasonably amusing/enjoyable. The lead actress is quite the looker too. Very Happy

Love Commando! Very Happy

Anyway, I've been watching Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles on Blu-ray. High-Def definitely goes well with this show. I never noticed the Cameron's skull shining through her skin as she melted the T-888. It's quite eerie.

Nearly finished Season 2 of Mork & Mindy.

Surprising just how political this Season is ... actually quite impressive considering the type of comedy this is meant to be!

Face Off on Blu-ray. It's been years since I've watched it, yet the scene where they lift off John Travolta's face still gives me the creeps.

Recently got my dad the Stargate Continuum movie on BlueRay as a gift and watched that with him. For a movie after a series thing it was really good. Wished I hadn't watched it on BlueRay though! Everything was so crystal clear it looked like it was bought from KMarts Toy Isle. Haha. Was good though.

Currently watching: House - Season 4

Watched the end of The Amazing Race where the Jamaican looking couple won the race.

Also watched Wipeout tonight which was freaking hilarious. The guy getting punched in the nads followed by doing the splits on the big balls had me wishing that I taped it.

Currently watching the first vol of House season 1.

Some show on ABC 2 about the moon and it's impact on the Earth in the past during it's creation, it's present impact on weather and other natural phenomena, and possible future impact. Quite fascinating.

Watched Hole in the Wall tonight and found it pretty funny. Not as good as Wipeout, but still good.

Also noticed that there's a new free to air tv channel called TVS. I watched a program called Aces High a couple of days back.

Last night after Spicks & Specks, switched over to ABC2 and discovered a doco about Krakatoa. Yesterday was the 125th anniversary of the island's self destruction, as well as the Don's 100th birthday.

TVS is the Sydney community TV channel. Been going for years. Each, or most, state capitals have a community channel on UHF 31. Unfortunately, they don't appear to be going digital any time soon.

Thanks for that. I didn't know and nothing was ever mentioned in the tv guides.

Still watching House but on the 2nd disc. I decided to put on Tron last night. Once an old classic, still an old classic. I have a ps game that is reminiscent of the tank section of Tron. I'll have to pull it out and play it again.

After seeing some stuff on the new movie Wall-E, it had me thinking about the old classic Short Circuit movies and thus I bought them on the way into work.

I watched the first Short Circuit movie and it's still fun to watch after all these years. No. 5 capturing the 3 other robots that were chasing him was good fun esp with what he reprogrammed them to do after he made his escape. Very Happy

I've been watching a few movies thanks to the jb 3 for 2 sale:
Dirty Harry - You've got to ask yourself one question... Will I be buying the others? You bet.
Transporter 2 - Disappointing. The CG car stunts were lame and the story wasn't as good as 1.
Underworld 1 & 2 - I liked. Surprisingly good action movies with a fairly detailed plot.
Karate Kid Part 1 - Where's part 2 and 3?

In the triple movie pack. My question is, where's The Next Karate Kid? (The one with the girl and Mr Miagi.)

Funland
Skins
Shameless
Spaced
South Park
Ths Simpsons
Family Guy
American Dad
Kim Possible
Ben 10
The Batman
Transformers Animated
Top Gear
Good Game
Triple J TV
Rage
Dexter

Those are my favorites from the past year or two. I watch what I can when I can, on TV or DVD. I'm a bit fan of British tv, but some of those British shows are off-air now, so if you missed them I recommend picking up the DVDs.

Just watching the usual Ths Simpsons repeat at the moment.

Ended up watching Short Circuit 2 and The Last Starfighter over the last couple of days.

Going to watch Encino Man. Another old classic and I think Pauly Shore's first movie.

That's cool ... I'm still maintaining my post-Olympics boycott of Ch 7. Prefer to just wait for it to be released on DVD and can watch it on my time (instead of whatever Bobforsaken timeslot 7 keeps jumping this show around to)

Channel 7 won't be airing them till mid october, or so i've heard.

but after their disasterous handling of pretty much every other decent show they get from the states, it's so much easier to get it from the internets. and DVD's wont be out for a while. as it's gonna be a 24 ep season, broken up into 2 halves. Villains and Fugitives (12 eps each)

this is one "reality" series i actually like. since it's like, so far removed from the daily life of the average person, that it's really interesting.

I have it's a rather good series so far, last night's episode was good.

It's been pretty good. It reminds me of Police Rescue which I wouldn't mind buying on dvd.

Admittingly it's got some half decent bit of violence or tense moments, little bit of blood, ect.

Just saw yesterday that The Drew Carey Show has been released on DVD. Definitely going to have to buy this series ... unattractive, poor and sarcastic characters in an American comedy? So much better than some of the generic peppy stuff out now! Very Happy

Yeah, i like how its from the norm of what you see, watched Oil, Sweat and Rigs or whatever it was called, as well. That was pretty interesting to see, seeing how things work and happen on an oil rig

Rush isn't bad, once you can get past some of the poor acting especially by the chick playing Grace (in ep.1 she was supposed to get emotional and yell at Josh(Callan Mulvey) and she delivered it in the same monotone she'd used all episode). Plus the fact that no matter where in Melbourne they are, they can get anywhere within 10 minutes.

The premise is they are a new unit specially trained to be "First-responders" to any situation, anywhere in the city of Melbourne.

For some reason, they don't seem to operate in different sectors of the city. If one unit responds, then the other one turns up to help. Not very realistic at all. They HAVE tried to manage two storylines at once, and so far only one episode (3rd one about Stella getting shot) managed to do it effectively.

Also, where are the shift changes. 6 cops, plus a commander and a tech guy isn't enough to cover a city 24/7, even for a trial. They need to show other officers are involved, even if only as standins in the background at shift-change. Police Rescue managed to do that right at least..

I'll watch it to see if it develops more, but at the moment, it's not screaming "get the DVD when it comes out" at me. Not like Police Rescue did when it came out..

Changing the subject slightly, do any of you remember a show on the ABC called Phoenix. it was a gritty crime show that deal with a bombing of Police Headquarters in the first season, and a series of home invasions in the second. First season is coming out on DVD Oct. 2nd..

Give the series time it's new don't forget.
And as for the time frame, well keep in mnd in some shows it could be days or hours in some episodes with things.
Time pases differently.
