This thread will be used for members to track down those hard to find box sets. Just when you think they're gone for good, there's a good chance they'll pop up again somewhere.

If you're after a particular box set, post what you want here. Or if you've seen some rare box sets around that you think other members might be interested in, just post about it here. Make sure to include the name of the store and the location or if it's online, the website. Also make sure to include what city you live in.

From memory those two boxsets are at my local Leading Edge music, i'll be going into town tomorrow morning so i'll take note of what's there and report back.

If they are there i'll let you know and i guess we can go from there, being that i don't live anywhere close to any of you guys lol.

Shin Tokyo have all seasons available in box sets. The JB store in the city in Adelaide has collection five.

Also, Shin Tokyo have both Trigun and Hellsing in their original boxes. These are very rare finds so be quick.

I'll check Shin Tokyo next time I go in because they're the only place that I remember stocking these.

Shin Tokyo still have this. Not sure on the price though. It's probably $89.90 but it could possibly be $71.90.

This thread's a cool idea, but for people who need to aquire certain products; could they state which state or city they live in as well? For people who also live in the area, it'd be easy for them to look through their local retailers. Otherwise, plan a trip to a state that stocks the items; if too costly resort to ordering online.

Well i live in Wagga Wagga (halfway between melb and syd) but if individuals are willing i can post to those who want it and can't find any of what they want in their locality.

Went in this morning to my leading edge music and left there is:

GITS SAC
Maburaho
Elfen Lied
Baki boxes 1 & 2
Wolf's Rain (i have dibs though Razz)
Inuyasha Box 5 and 6 part 2 (though kbz has first call on those)

I think there's one or two others but thats the most of it, There used to be a fair bit, even 3 boxes of otogi zoshi but they're all gone now, there was a Rurouni Kenshin boxset too, blast not enough monies lol.

I saw one the other day @ my local JB, but don't think that anywhere near your location, so probably not much help. Might be gone now, they are going pretty fast since the fatpack revolution, damn fatpacks!

Will confirm on Friday if you like?

Yeah, I did add this in the first post yesterday afternoon but some members may not have noticed.

I edited my original post to include my location, but I don't really care which state the boxsets are in, I'll find a way to get my hands on them.

Shin Tokyo also have the box sets of Burst Angel and Gilgamesh. I'd say the former is harder to find now than the latter.

No, I've dealt with that seller before and everytime they have the picture of the boxset, they only have the fatpack instock... I'm really sick of stores not having the updated pictures.

You could have replied then. Anyway. that would explain why they haven't got back to me regarding my question about boxset vs. fatpack. Thanks for the heads up.

I too am sick of sellers that don't update their pics or subtly deceive buyers then send a fatpack, grrr...

I know. I hate that too. Take this site for example. I'm sure some people don't even remember this edition of Fruits Basket

Yes, yes that's right. More to the point I had my finger on the mouse ready to hit "buy it now", glad I didn't now. I would have been pretty pissed about getting a fatpack, especially with the price they charge for postage.

Does anyone know where I can find Fullmetal Alchemist collection 1 in Adelaide? I don't mind buying from a reptutable website but not from places like eBay. I'd much prefer being able to go into the store personally and getting it but I've checked all the usual places that stock anime and I can't find it.

Shocked ... well you should have said so, I didn't realise you needed a reply asap. Okay for those of you that don't already know this, when buying online ALWAYS assume that the picture is inaccurate until you have confirmed it with the seller. I can't tell you how many times I've purchased something and ended up with a fatpack for various reasons.

Don't know in Adelaide, but I know where one is in NSW. If you want it, then let me know as I've got someone who could get it for you (hehe I feel like the anime Mafia or something).

Last time I went to Gametraders, Marion they had it, but I'm not sure if they still do. Worth a look, though.

Marion's a fair way to go. If I had the transport, I would go. But I'll try to get in contact with them to see if they still have it and maybe they could transfer it or something. How long ago was this?

They had it the other day. They must've just sold out of it. I'll keep a look out for it.

I'm sure everyone knows this already but I'll say it just in case. Make sure to ring up a JB store and ask if they've got what you're looking for. If they don't have it, get them to check the other JB stores because they can do it through the computer. I've gotten a few box sets this way.

These aren't box sets but I haven't been able to find V3 of both Haibane Renmei and New Fist of the North Star.

I wouldn't mind the Haibane Renmei boxset, it seems really hard to get even singles for some of the volumes. It's annoying.

I managed to pick up volumes 1,2 and 4 at Shin Tokyo a few months ago but just can't find V3. My local EzyDVD have V1 but I haven't seen the others anywhere in ages.

I will but I doubt it'll be anytime soon. I know EzyDVD have V3 of New Fist of the North Star but they're in receivership at the moment and said I can't place an order (in store or online).

Marion's a fair way to go. If I had the transport, I would go. But I'll try to get in contact with them to see if they still have it and maybe they could transfer it or something. How long ago was this?

About 3 weeks, so it's possible that someone could of bought it, what with Christmas and all, but you should ring them up to be sure.

These aren't box sets but I haven't been able to find V3 of both Haibane Renmei and New Fist of the North Star.

I have the R1 vol. 3 of Haibane Renmei to get rid of after I got the boxset from ebay but I have never sent any DVD or CD through mail before so I'm a bit clueless to what type of envelope or package to use. I know, sounds really stupid.

I doubt she'll ever get that desperate... I've been trying to bring her over to the dark side since last year to no avail... isn't that right Seph?

Got 1 and 3 about 1-2 years ago, was waiting for box 2 to be on sale

Ozanimart has it in store in the CBD of Melbourne for $97. Went there today to have a look around. Their address can be found at the top of their homepage.

$97??? Thats a little harsh, considering that MM have them at $69.95. Which brings me to my main point... when I know that MM is selling Trigun for $59.95, is it a good deal to be paying $90 for the box?

A tough bag (like $1.50 or thereabouts + postage to location) will suffice for one dvds, sent and received dvd's like that before without any problems.

Depends if you really want to have the box packaging or settling with a fatpack I guess.

Oh and if you're still looking for Initial D, I remember I saw the boxset for one of the series behind the counter at Dixon's Recycled either in Camberwell or Prahran (can't remember properly since it was many weeks ago).

I have one title I'm after but the chances of finding the boxset for it is pretty much nil now since it's a very old title and has been discontinued for some time.

Vampire Princess Miyu TV

Found volumes 2-4 at Dixon's Recycled in Camberwell but I don't really wanna track down the individual releases, rather get it as whole boxset.

I'm a boxset girl, but I was slightly irritated when the place that has it said they're selling it for that price, felt like I'm being milked because of the whole fatpack thing. Thanks for the info though, i'll give them a call.

Now I know I saw this somewhere recently, if I come across it, you'll be the first person to get a pm about it.
