Not a hundred percent sure if this is the right spot or not so if it isn't sorry.

Anyways I was just wonderin if anyone would be able to recommend some music with a good beat (bass) but isn't extremely fast like they had just down 10 cans of red bull in five minutes but i'm happy to look at all suggestions.

Maybe anything by Asian Kung-Fu Generation it is not extremely fast but it does have good bass. The first song by them that I would recommend would be Haruka Konata.

If you have even the slightest liking of solo piano jazz, don't miss Hiromi Uehara when she comes to Australia (see http://www.elloradesigns.com/itinerary/itinerary.asp?ArtistID=2).

If you're too tired to click, she is scheduled for:

May 20, 2011
Bennets Lane (Solo)
- Melbourne, Australia

May 22, 2011
State Theatre (Solo)
- Sydney, Australia

Not anime related, but one of the best Japanese musicians you are likely to see perform in Australia.

Since I have seen very little else about these shows anywhere on the internet, does anyone know why they are no longer listed in that link, or on Hiromi's website.

Have they actually been canceled? Crying or Very sad

I assume so Sad Sad - it would have been well worth the trip from Adelaide to Melbourne or Sydney to see her perform.

It's a bit surprising that Hiromi hasn't toured Australia yet - she may not have the years of experience like Chick Corea or Stanley Clarke, but her collaboration with these and other musicians shows how talented (and crowd pleasing) she is.

I have previously gotten a reply from Ellora management, so it might be worth contacting them. I will try to email them soon:

The local music store had my order for the CD Another Mind that I picked up yesterday, so there are only a couple of soundtracks that Hiromi has appeared on that I am missing:

Triangle Kansai TV Hoso Kaikyoku 50 Shunen Kinen Drama (Hiromi Uehara, Hiroyuki Sawano, Yuuki Hayashi) and:

Orionza kara no Shotaijo Original Soundtrack CD.

Well, I have sent them an email, so I'll reply here when I get a response. Smile

I did notice last night(since facebook is blocked from work) that her facebook page still has the shows listed for both Sydney and Melbourne. So that's something...

I did not know about those soundtracks she's worked on, but I also have all her other albums. I bought a lot of them when I was actually in Japan about a year ago (and I booked this trip way in advance, so it turned out I actually missed Hiromi's concert dates in both Osaka and Tokyo by 1 day while I was travelling... Confused)

So, I got a reply from them:

"They have been canceled for 2011. Thank you for your support and we are working on bringing her there in 2012."

So no luck for this one... Sad

So you have the Duets with Chick Corea double CD and the Stanley Clarke Band CD with Hiromi on 4 tracks and Stanley Clarke Trio - Jazz In The Garden CD?

The direct links I have to the soundtracks are:

"Triangle" Kansai TV Hoso Kaikyoku 50 Shunen Kinen Drama Original Soundtrack

Orionza kara no Shotaijo Original Soundtrack CD

That would be awful.

The DVD's Hiromi Live in Concert and Hiromi's Sonicbloom Live in Concert are available from Amazon (US).

It appears to have disappeared from the Ellora management page... Sad

-But- those dates have now appeared on Hiromi's own website... http://www.hiromiuehara.com/en/tour/

Not sure what is happening here. Hopefully she is actually coming out here.

Weird... I might have to re-check the Bennetts Lane and Melbourne Recital Centre web sites closer to those dates as there is nothing on either site yet. I hope to see her perform some day.
