Since there is bound to be someone who was going to create this topic I thought that I should do the honours.

Who are you betting on?

I'm betting on Roman Emperor it looked good when I watched the virtual Race on the Nine news tonight.

Depending on whether I feel like driving tomorrow, I may place a bet for the first time ever. I got a crash course from my mum a couple of days ago on how to do so, so the actual mechanics of it shouldn't be a real issue.

As for who I'll choose, I'll just choose the horse with the jockey that has the prettiest jacket. In a race where, before you start getting into the form etc, there's a 24:1 chance that any given horse will win, before scratchings, it's as logical way as any to pick a winner. And in my experience, the favourites rarely win.

I got a few horses in the sweeps.... Leica Ding, Kibbutz, Ista Kareen and Spin Around!

The one called Spin Around reminds me of the opening of School Rumble... Razz

Go horsies! Run as if Tallis was chasing you! Very Happy

Shocking wins. And to think that my horse (Roman Emperor) was placing up until the final stretch.

None of Bart Cummings horses ranked. Out of the sweep my horse was Basaltico which I think ran 5th, I haven't checked though.

People's whose horse came last get their money returned - Mediocrity is always the vicitm in life.

I lost the sweepstakes with my family, but I won at work. Made $30 from a $2 investment, which I promptly spent on the Nirvana: Live at Reading CD+DVD.

Did anyone find this year's Cup to be less exciting than usual? I don't know if it is just me but it seemed kind of flat this year. Also I didn't win anything as we had Viewed as our pick so that may have something to do with it. Sad

fixed that for ya Wink

And no, i'm not starving to death yet, that'll happen after a few days, though if things do become desperate, there's always plenty of baked beans, albeit to the dismay of my housemates Laughing

Office closed at 12:30 and then we all just sat back, had lunch and watched all the races on the projector in the meeting room all the while betting and drinking. Very Happy

i came 2nd in the office sweep and the proceeded to lose all of that on the rest of the races.

even wore a long sleeve shirt today even though i almost died from the heat when i had to go out on site just before lunch.

That's good. A diet of Baked Beans isn't that bad but it has infamous repercussions.

Beans have Protein

A diet of Mi Goreng will leave you lethargic and malnourished

An interesting little fact is that the public holiday the ACT had today was titled Family Leisure Day - I can't remember if that was the exact title but it was something along the lines of that I was told
